Ireland should now be banned from international basketball competition until every player is too old to play, perhaps 15 years. Sinwar himself said the Gazans including children are a necessary sacrifice as martyrs in the war against Israel and the more the better. Many Palestinian mothers and grandmothers have openly said on video they would happily sacrifice their children for Islam. So they along with Hamas seem to have a similar view of their children being completely expendable which is utterly grotesque. The Western view that children are precious and should be protected doesn't seem to gel in Islam, nor the rest of the Arab states. Why haven't Arab states helped evacuate the children?
@@josietumelty6895 I saw that video where a mother said she was proud to have a martyr for a son. I also saw a video where a Palestinian man said one of their greatest weapons is their women’s wombs. @@andersschmich8600 No. Ideal situation would be if there would be state of Palestine next to Israel that accepts Israel is a state and stops attacking them for 75 years. Palestinians didn't accept two state solution the first day 1948 when it was offered to them, nothing changed since
British Mandate of Palestine included today Jordan, Israel, Gaza and West Bank, the original discussion after WWI was to divide the country in two, Jordan would be for the Arabs and Israel, Gaza and West Bank for the Jewish population, the Arab people rioted, and so Jordan was create as a country but the British back down and restricted Jewish Migration to the area.
@@semsemeini7905yes in 1947, but the creation of Jordan was in 1920. Initially pre and during WW1 (1917) the entire Mandate was meant to be a Jewish state. Then, as the Arabs helped the British in defeating the ottomans, the British felt indebted to the Arabs so they Partitioned the Mandate of Palestine and gave 70% of the land to the Arabs and created TransJordan (today knows as Jordan) to be ruled by the Arab Hashimite Tribe (ie. All the Arabs would live there both Christians and Muslims.). While the remaining part would be ruled by Jews and would include armenian refugees from WW1 when the ottomans committed genocide against them in (1915). The Arabs who remained and didn't want to leave what is known today as Israel and the west bank and Gaza, were presumed to accept this partition and accepted the rule of the Jewish people. However, that turned out to be a mistake, as the Arabs kept insisting that they won't accept a Jewish state ever. (Fun fact: if you look at any official documents such as visas, passports, licenses etc. from the Mandate you will see that in Arabic it says Falasteen and in Hebrew it says Palestina (the land of Israel). So, in 1947, this land was going to be unfairly Partitioned again, giving Jews a much smaller piece of land, but the Jews accepted and declared their state hood. However, as soon as they did the entire Arab world (Arab Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Jordanians, Egyptians, Iraqis and Kuwaitis specifically) launched a war to reclaim the entire land for themselves. Yet, they lost the war and Jordan captured the west bank and Jerusalem and egypt captured and occupied Gaza. There were 700,000 Palestinian refugees as a result of this war (only around 20,000 Palestinians were forcefully expelled by Jews for two reasons, either they were actively fighting Jews or their village location was strategic to win the war and had to be evacuated during the war. This is confirmed by the bedouins and druze who immediately accepted joining the Jewish state and fight alongside the Jews against the other Arabs.) The idea was that since Israel had to aborsb all the Jewish refugees from Arab lands (who were escaping their impeding deaths and were around one million Jews who lost billions of dollars as they escaped or were forcefully expelled), and that the arab nations would do likewise and absorb the Arab palestinian refugees. However, that was not the case, and unfortunately, many but specifically both Jordan and Lebanon wound up sla ughtering thousands of Palestinians and expelled them or forced them into camps. (Kuwaitis did the same to Palestinians when Palestinians sided with the Iraqis during the Persian gulf war). Hence, there are zero Jewish refugees today, so as they were all absorbed by Israel immediately. While there are millions of Palestinian "refugees" because Arabs Continue refusing to absorb them since 1920 until today. The Palestinians got a raw deal because all the Arabs and Muslims nations let them down (however, there were some exceptions, unfortunately, some of the Palestinians formed groups like the PLO who attempted to usurp two nations: Jordan from the Hashimites and Lebanon from the Christians and got slau ghtered as a result.). You will find that this is not an isolated incident in the region post WW1, the same was experienced by non-arab/non-Muslim communities. The druze in Syria were meant to have a druze state in the jabal Al druze region, but the Syrian Arab Muslims didn't accept that any communities that were non-Arab/Non-Muslim have a right to a state in the region, therefore they slaughtered the druze (even though the druze helped force the French out of Syria and without the druze the French would have remained a decade longer) they also pre-emptively decided to sla ughter syriacs and Assyrians in case they get ideas about forming a state. Similarly, the Iraqi Kurds were promised by the British to Form their own state of Kurdistan when the Mandate of Iraq is over but the Iraqis genocided the Kurds, and so did the Turks and Iranis in order to prevent any kurdish aspirations for state hood. The kurdish people still don't have an independent state and kurdistan is still part of Iraq. Another good example is the maronite Christians in Lebanon. The Christians were a majority in Lebanon and were set to rule the nation however dozens of prominent maronite politicians were assassinated by arab Muslims to ensure that the nation never becomes a Christian nation and a civil war broke out. Same story with Egyptians cops, Zaratushtis of Iran, igbos etc. The moral of the story is that any indigenous non-arab/non Muslim community in MENA/SWANA that ever dares to establish a state or exercise their right of self determination, they get slau ghtered and ethnically cleansed cleansed. Fortunately for jews, however, they are the ONLY indigenous community who successfully reclaimed their land, while all others perished in the attempt.

Ireland has centuries long traditions of vicious antisemitism. As you know antisemitism is irrational and incurable. The Irish have absolutely no obligation to like Jews and never will. Hopefully, they will be more satisfied with mass migration of Muslims living on Irish taxpayer's money and infiltrating Irish municipal councils and schoolboards 😊
I’m Irish and fully support Israel and the right to defend themselves from a barbaric medieval ideology.im so disgusted at the basketball team and their hypocrisy.
Joyce wrote a bit about Irish antisemitism in Ulysses. Well worth reading. Leopold Bloom is one of the most well written and complex Jewish characters in English language literature. A small glimpse into the window of 1904 Dublin and Irish Jewery. Long but terrific. Ireland really is a beautiful and normally friendly and hospitable place. But their inherent cultural antisemitism is one of the few negatives. Well, now "wokeness" is probably their biggest foible. But they've always had deep socialist tendencies in Irish society,.
Here's one for you. The very first prime minister of Ireland he was a man who had a Spanish or Latino name. But he converted to becoming Jewish because his father was Jewish. When my friend who was an extreme liberal Progressive when she asked me why he would have converted to being Jewish because she knew I was Jewish, I explained to her about the issue dealing with this author who had written and specifically he wrote about a Jewish character in there and I'd read The Works written by other people especially people like Bob Dylan in writing about how that his favorite author was an Irish poet which is where he got his name Dylan from. And likewise I think that Dylan Bob Dylan actually went even to a greater extent than what the Irish Dylan author poet had said or had been written. Because even Bob Dylan was able to Mock and make fun of himself and to even Mock and make fun of the person who was going to tell everyone else how to think that's why he wrote the song My Back Pages. Where he said he became his own enemy in the instant that he told everyone else how to think. These young kids they have to get into that music to understand the insanity of being woke the insanity that just because you think you know what's right that doesn't mean you you're always going to make the right choice and it means that there are times when you're completely wrong with your choices and you have to understand when that insanity is to not come off like these morons especially these people in in Ireland in South Africa who are going after something I know to me the group in Belfast who is really going against Israel it's not difficult for me to understand what's going on there because when I was there there was a lot going on with regards to Al-Qaeda and they were heavily involved with the IRA. As a matter of fact there was one person there who was from he was actually a a person who claimed to be going to college in Ireland but he wasn't actually going to college he couldn't even speak English. In the end he got his life ended far too soon because of him attacking a white woman who he wanted to have sex with and she didn't like him that way but because of his his desire was much stronger than hers so when after he attacked her she wound up not living through the attack. And I was told that the people who were going around asking all the questions cuz I was at the youth hostel that that guy was at so I had people coming to talk to me who were not government people but they were people that I would have easily classed as being part of the mafia that I had known in America. And it wasn't till later that I that somebody from our group have explained exactly who that person was and explained how that he was connected with the IRA and that he wasn't supposed to be getting involved with things that he did he had wound up bringing in some hash another things to sell in Ireland. So there you go even though that that all these different Muslim groups will tell you that if you do do drugs in or try to sell them in a Muslim land it's true they will they will kill you for doing that. But the Taliban in Afghanistan they grow the stuff to have either the Opium or the stuff for heroin in America it is grown in Muslim lands and yet they will but if you bring it there then they'll kill you or if you're a white person going there that they'll kill you for wanting to have drugs or black person for that matter.
You neglected to mention that the Irish were neutral during WWII. They did NOT come out against Hitler and the torture, humiliation, murder and cremation of 6 million Jews and 6 million non-Jews. They couldn't make that moral choice. That's quite a standard for Irish morality. I won't even address the hypocrisy of their Nobel Laureates who praised "Beautiful Ireland" but alll of them lived elsewhere once they had the opportunity to leave Ireland. Yeats, Shaw, Wilde. None of them chose to live in Ireland.
I’m an Irish person, born and reared here, but I fully support the nation of Israel. My father, who was born in 1921, loved the Jewish people. The generation after have been poisoned by Sinn Fein/IRA who have always promoted the Arab narrative, because of their links to the PLO in the 1970’s. There are many people throughout Ireland who stand with Israel, so do not tar us all with the broad brush.

Ireland here. The loudest sections of our society give a skewed picture. Many thinking and moral people understand the unique challenges Israel faces. Stay strong.
I had an Irish woman tell me that the Irish supported the Palestinians because of their occupation by the Brits for 800 years. But she was astonished when i pointed out that the Jews can trace their lineage back over 3000 years to Israel. As for being occupied by the Brits. Well hundreds of thousands of Irishmen served and fought in the Brit army for centuries. Far far more than ever fought and died in the Irish rising and war of independence. PM of Ireland in 1945 even signed the book of condolence when Hitler killed himself. Two of the top Nazis, Skorzeny and Albert Follens were allowed to settle there after the war. And Dan Breen, a iconic and renowned IRA fighter against the Brits in the war of Independence, had photos of Hitler and Himmler in his living room and on the date of Hitlers birthday, sent his best wishes to Hitler.
Up until 1919 the Ottoman Turks ran Jordan, Israel, in fact the whole area. For hundreds of years This part of the Middle East was known as Greater Syria.
@@febweb17 Not only was it known as Greater Syria (al-Sham), but that's the way Palestinian Arabs identified, as well. As part of Greater Syria. i can count at least 5 reasons why Ireland became the most hostile country in Europe towards Israel. - "good old antisemitism", as if the 1965 Pope's exoneration of Jews hadn't reached the 'remote' island of Ireland. -spearheading the ultra-leftism infantile ideologies, in which there is no room for jews in their homeland. - being contrarian to all Great Britain's deeds and lambasting all their achievements, like the Balfour declaration. - projecting their strong anti-colonialism sentiments on Israel, as if Israel is some kind of empire.. -anti American sentiments, Israel's trusted ally.

Ireland was the only western country that had Pogroms in the early 1900s; Limerick Pogrom is one example that lasted two years. In 1945 De Valera the Prime Minister went to the German Embassy in Dublin and conveyed Ireland's condolences when Hitler died. After the war former Nazis were given political asylum in Ireland like Otto Skorzeny being one example.. Ireland only recognised Israel in 1964 while most countries recognised them between 1948 to 1950. The emigration to Jewish refugees was closed before the war and after. The Irish lawyer at the ICC when accusing Israel of Genocide added Jesus in Bethlehem in her presentation. It was clear what her message was.
I'm sure it was Irish new Yorkers who led the anti free slaves riots during the US civil war. Freed slaves were slaughtered just for fleeing north for sanctuary .
No matter what Israel does, Israel will be blamed. As per the talk about removing the children from the warzone, there is one thing that some would fire back with. That is that you shouldn't separate children from their parents and they will be the same group of people who cry about the Southern boarder crisis where children shouldn't be separated and the same who cry out when children of parents who have committed a crime are being sentenced to jail time. I say Israel needs to do what is important for Israel to do to protect it's citizens first and foremost. No matter what, there is going to be a cost.
When discussing Mandated Palestine, what is often elided-here too-is that most of it became proto-“Palestine,” that is, Jordan, and only a bit of Mandate Palestine became designated as land to be partitioned between Jews and other Arabs, and the land that would be given to the Jews would become a state in which Arabs were still welcome with equal rights.
The partition wasn’t a legal document though just a recommendation and appeasement by the UN to try to get the Arabs not to start a whole out assault on Israel .
@@AmaliaMagenCohenI think you are a little bit off course here. I think this was probably because of their allegiance during WW1? I think your terminology re proto-Palestine is really good because it highlights that such a large number of people in Jordan at the time of its first incarnation would be considered Palestinian now because they are the same peoples.

While that is the rhetoric/talking points for the propaganda machine, it excludes history and context. Jews have always been in that region so you cannot colonize a land you are Indigenous to. Look at the size and quantity of the Arab states in the Middle East, look at the size of Israel. The reasons for any historical or current security measures/occupation, were to protect it's citizens from those who have tried to attack them repeatedly. @@stephendoherty981
Apart from the fact that everything you wrote is a lie what does any of that have to do antisemitism all across the world towards hews that may have never even gone to Israel, let's face its it's just cool to be an antisemite these days
Condoning the horrendous attack and brutalization of the Jewish people and calling it legitimate "resistance" is pure hatred against the Jews as a people and is entirely unforgivable -- especially from the Irish who can't stop complaining about what the British did to them so many decades and centuries ago..
@resolecca This is just another proof that antisemitism is incurable and eternal, and it has so many faces. Usually we - the ethnic non- religious Jews have enough sense to accept it. The Irish with their centuries long traditions of vicious antisemitism have no obligation to like Jews. However a hysterical and immature attitude of the Irish team was totally unnecessary.
Israel choose to play in European leagues despite not being in Europe. They could be kicked out of various tournaments and forced to play in their own region. So it’s up to them to toe the line. Not the other way around.
@UrbanSurvivalLaboratories There is no reason for Israel to be playing in European leagues in any sport - manly because the criteria is supposed to be geographical and Israel isn't in Europe. So they are playing Ireland because they don't want to play against Iran or Saudi Arabia. It's Israel's choice to do this - so they should try to fit in a bit more
@@michaellamont2605 They could join the N American league instead as there's a big values clash with many parts of Europe. Look - I'm not saying what Ireland did is great. This is sport and one of its virtues is supposed to be that it's a world in of itself - a form of escapism where all differences are put aside for the joy of the game. But that's a bit naive. Thing is though - maybe it is best for Israel to choose the N American leagues instead of Europe. Its less competitive in America when it comes to major sports (ie not basketball, which is a bit fringe)
Quite frankly just more racist rants on this channel, this time directed at the Irish who have committed the sin of not fully backing Israel. They thus can only be antisemites according to extremist views The reason why the Irish don't back Israel (aside from the about 30 000 dead in Gaza and all the atrocities committed by the IDF including in the west bank thus far) is simple. They remember the problems they had during their own occupation by the british and feel solidarity with the palestinians because of it. This has nothing to do with ethnicity or religion.
There was rampant antisemitism in Ireland before Israel was ever a thought. And they brought that hatred to the US 120 years ago. Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable.
@MrXammos rampant antisemitism was all over the world sweetie as I'm sure you're well aware, Ireland right now is one of the countries with the least bigotry on the planet .... Israel is just a ter***St cr****Al state
Showing exactly how active you are with regards to the Hamas and other terrorists fudging numbers as they do on every aspect but obviously you're believing them so they've won out somehow with with people who don't know what the difference between propaganda and reality is. Yeah 20,030,000 whatever why not say 10 million why not say a billion people just let's totally throw yourself in on the side of the terrorists cuz that's what the Irish are all about anyways it's what they are they IRA it's about killing old people women and children through bombs that explode no matter which person's being killed by them
It's a pity that they didn't identify with the victims of Nazi oppression during WWII. They stayed out of that conflict, but there were a great many Nazi sympathisers in Ireland at the time.
Sorry, not wholly true. Irish people are antisemitic. It’s engrained partly due to Catholicism and the narrative that the Jews killed Jesus Christ and also because Jewish people traditionally being a minority were educated together with Protestants. As we know we lived in a theocracy in Ireland up to the late 1960’s. Anyone of a different race, religion was viewed with suspicion. Not uncommon in small homogenous Island communities which can be tightly knit and unused to outside influences. England was viewed as the devil and evil incarnate in Ireland during past periods of time. Ireland is an adolescent in terms of maturity and is flexing its flimsy muscles on the world stage. Which is funny if you look at it from the outside. Virtue signalling, and maintaining the high moral ground in the circumstances of a complex conflict is counterproductive. Israel is & has since its foundation had to fight an existential war with parties that will never accept their right to exist. The numbers quoted by Hamas are not objectively confirmed. Who would take the word of a terrorist organisation? Considering the love affair with death Hamas espouses it’s strange they constantly complain of such casualties? It is not congruent? On one hand they birth their children to kill & die, Then complain when their people do in fact sadly die. ? It’s perplexing. The terrorists against the international rules of war do not wear uniforms, they dress as civilians. These combatants dressed as civilians when in the course of fighting die are counted by Hamas as civilian deaths. Be aware that propaganda is not unusual in war. Irish people will in time mature hopefully. It’s flaws need addressing. The media is akin to an apologist for Hamas. As an Irish person it’s frankly embarrassing to witness the uninformed and truthfully ignorant dribble that poses as so called journalism in our media.in relation to Israel and this conflict.
Irish Basketball? I assumed that was a joke, but it's real, So playing politic's in any game devalue's the game! Macgregor is fun to watch! But for me, the best that came from Ireland was Maureen O'Hara! But the Quiet Man, showed the beautiful Ireland!

Actually East Jerusalem and the West Bank in 1948 was supposed to go to the Palestinians but Jordan gobbled it up. Egypt took Gaza.
This is confirmed by the bedouins and druze who immediately accepted joining the Jewish state and fight alongside the Jews against the other Arabs.)
The idea was that since Israel had to aborsb all the Jewish refugees from Arab lands (who were escaping their impeding deaths and were around one million Jews who lost billions of dollars as they escaped or were forcefully expelled), and that the arab nations would do likewise and absorb the Arab palestinian refugees.

Fool. You should read up about how Israel stole that land in 1948. And do you support genocide?
Of course, I.had forgotten about Leopold Bloom. Thanks

I’m an Irish person, born and reared here, but I fully support the nation of Israel. My father, who was born in 1921, loved the Jewish people.
-spearheading the ultra-leftism infantile ideologies, in which there is no room for jews in their homeland.

Israel sovereign rights includes Gaza and Judea samaria
@@AmaliaMagenCohenI think you are a little bit off course here. I believe that Britain, as the controlling power of the mandate post WW1 had already recognised the need for a Jewish state as far back as the mid 1800’s. I think erroneously they allocated the vast majority of the territory to form Transjordan, now Jordan which went to the local Arabs and Bedouins. I think this was probably because of their allegiance during WW1? Of course they play basketball in Ireland. Basketball is everywhere.
When I was on the DMZ (with 2nd Infantry Div., at guardpost Oullette), in 1985, I saw North Korean soldiers (through my ship-shore binoculars, on their side one KM back from the MDL) playing basketball on their off-time. ...I was surprised seeing that, but I was just an ignorant 20 year-old.
Apparently Christian missionaries introduced basketball to Koreans and Chinese over a hundred years ago.

Well this was very unbiased.
Opposing the actions of the Israeli government and the IDF is not antisemitism. Opposing genocide is not antisemitism
Well, if you are not an Iranian bot, then in effect you are opposing Israel's sovereign right to defend itself from annihlation. Misusing terms like genocide to cover the old blood libel trope is all too transparent in its anti semitism, especially as the casualty ratio is 1.5:1.

Most of the Irish who are against Israel are not really anti-semitic, but due to their own history they sympathize with the effort that they perceive as a struggle for independence. However wrong they might be, in their thinking they are pro-Palestinian, but not anti-Jewish. Perhaps you can call them useful idiots, but as far as I can see, the Irish in general don’t wish any harm to Jewish people.
Also, the Irish Catholicism is mostly cultural these days. The vast majority of Irish don't go to church at all and many even don't believe in God.
It does not mean they are not wrong, but their motivation does not stem from religious affiliation. I think that there is a misunderstanding about the role that religion plays in European societies. It is often rather different from the role it plays in the United States.

No one is innocent everyone is born in sin. Get this and get wisdom. The opposite of evil is God not good, 'good,' is an aspect of God. A sinner may do good or think he is doing good (good is subjective.) but still we are all sinful. We prioritise ourselves over others, we are all cowards in the face of death our every other thought is sinful. People are glorifying the Palestinians as being 'innocent,' complete utter nonsense. In Islam women are subject to men they might not agree with their husbands esp. if he is a Hamas soldier,) but they keep silent, that is 'acquiescence.' The palestinian protests are based on many lies believed by people who do not believe in sin. (No moral compass.) Slightly off topic but interesting to note that most of the Confederate US were Irish descendants while the Union North were more Anglos against whom the Irish South probably wanted to prove its power and wealth. Your question contains an answer. Antisemitism has many faces. It is eternal and incurable. The Irish are not obliged to like Jews, they have centuries old tradition of hatred, and it goes on.😊 Obviously non- integrating Muslim hoards living on Irish taxpayers' money are infinitely better and your heart bleeds for them. But this immature hysterical refuse to shake hands during big sports event looks ridiculous and unnecessary.
Is this a serious question? I am happy to help if it is, but cannot tell if you are trolling…

Ireland confuses me. Although the Conflict differes greately. The Irish people are the Jews in the Israel-Palestine Conflict. The Arabs are the English people and the Irish are the Jews. The fact that they see themselevs as the Palestinians in this conflcit makes zero sense. The Irish taking the side of the imperliast colonial power in the Arab/Palestinian-Israeli Conflict is beyond shocking!
It makes as much sense as Black, Queer and Indigenous people identifying with Palestinians. They think all Jews are white and white=oppressors and brown=oppressed. They know nothing about Jewish history, nothing about Arab colonization and nothing about how Islamist extremists would happily kill all of the. I have never been more stunned in my 50 years of life how pervasive antisemitism is and how easy people are to brainwash.
It doesn't have to make sense as long as it gives them a sense of moral superiority, however false, and an outlet for thinly veiled antisemitism.
You know if Mohammed had ascended to Heaven from Dublin insteaf of Jerusalem then the many hundreds of young women butchered by Hamas on the 7th Oct. would have being Irish and not Israeli. And as for the long legged beauties of the Irish basketball team I am sure Hamas would know exactly what they would do to them
Is Israel not the imperial colonial power in Palestine?
While that is the rhetoric/talking points for the propaganda machine, it excludes history and context. Jews have always been in that region so you cannot colonize a land you are Indigenous to. Look at the size and quantity of the Arab states in the Middle East, look at the size of Israel. The reasons for any historical or current security measures/occupation, were to protect it's citizens from those who have tried to attack them repeatedly. @@stephendoherty981
Being against the genocidal military assault on Gaza is not being against the Jewish people, but against the extremists in the Israeli government.
What genocidal military assault? You may want to look at John Spencer’s (West Point, specialist in urban conflict) analyses (e.g. Newsweek Jan 31).
Its a war of self defense not genocide. I thought they taught these basic definitions in grade school.
It's Israel's choice to do this - so they should try to fit in a bit more
I think antisemites should have their own games. Bahrain, Qatar, Ireland, Iran 😂

@@michaellamont2605Well said
@@michaellamont2605 They could join the N American league instead as there's a big values clash with many parts of Europe.
Everyone who has been through colonialism thinks Israel is evil
Anyone who has been raped or a victim of violent attacks understands the evil of Hamas.

Yes from the evil vile ideology of Hamas
From the Rivet to the Sea the Israeli flag waves free and the only state the Palestinians have is one of misery
Quite frankly just more racist rants on this channel, this time directed at the Irish who have committed the sin of not fully backing Israel. They thus can only be antisemites according to extremist views
The reason why the Irish don't back Israel (aside from the about 30 000 dead in Gaza and all the atrocities committed by the IDF including in the west bank thus far) is simple.

On one hand they birth their children to kill & die,
Then complain when their people do in fact sadly die.
