We know what the sirens mean, but they get so tiring. My town for some reason used to blast them during every storm, and we’d have to wake up at 2 a.m. for a false alarm. At a certain point you get kinda numb to them and it becomes routine. Thankfully, though, I think my town fixed its problem a few years ago and they only do the sirens if there’s significant flooding or rotation in the clouds

I remember when this happened and it was very scary. As a native of Dallas, I’m used to sirens going off when there’s a tornado in the area, but the things wailing on and off for two solid hours in the middle of the night took it to a whole new level of fear. All I could think of was terrorists. I had no idea the entire system was connected and could be hacked.
