I agree with you, 4 workers can have the same repair ticket and each solve it correctly but using their own technique. OMG I love working on electronics. Giuseppe Palmisano hello Giuseppe. The question you asked is an answer that is tough to give, because all hot air and solder stations will operate differently. Even if we had the same unit, they still would not run the same. For example, if I would run my hot air at 300C with 50% air flow on board A, and you were working on board A as well using the same identical settings, your part may come off before mine because my machine has been used more and the heating element is wearing down, and not mention how much air is being blown around your work space, because that will also effect the area being heated up. I suggest practice with different boards and log your settings. Even then you may still find yourself adjusting your machine accordingly. I hope you find this information helpful.
