    As an R7 owner, hold off on the snorkel delete. Yoshimura just came out with a race air box that will replace the entire assembly. Just wait for stock to come in! Another thing, if you have bad vibrations on the throttle hand, get the domino grips, they feel way better and will get rid of most of it. Ride safe my guy!

      @MT-THNDR207 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In terms of retaining hp in stock form, the snorkel should stay. In regards to the aftermarket airbox, it should not be deleted or replaced with pod filters or anything of the like. Employing intake tubes facilitates an important role in smoothing intake air current and intake velocity.
      Check out Spears Racing Enterprises. They have a velocity stack kit for the stock airbox of the R7/MT-07. Basically, it replaces the internal restriction tubes with shorter tubes and velocity stacks. I'd recommend also going with the Sprint P08 filter.

      @@stfu6397while it is the same platform and running gear, the suspension setup is improved a lot to the point where you can't modify an MT07 to make it a naked R7 that handles as good, so i wouldn't call it an MT with a fairing

    Hey man I just wanted to say that when you slow down don't engage the clutch because you lose engine braking which is pretty strong on the R7 and it helps you slow down it also helps you in the corners so that you don't need to use the brakes especially with the front one.
    I hope you understood it because I am French so my English is not perfect, have fun and enjoy this little beast.

    • @hutch814
      @hutch814 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      To newish risers this is very important. Once you have learned to use your gears to slow down and are used to using engine braking in unison with your brakes in a panic stop it will save your ass! It becomes muscle memory and the other added benefit is you won't wear your brake out nearly as fast. They will last for years. Becomes second nature similar to when you stay in a lower gear and up in the power band in sweeping corners to modulate the throttle and use it to keep it under load to have much more control.

      Stop using your high beams, you literally are going to kill yourself.
      I’m not even gonna sit here and try and explain why high beams are lethal. You see a bike, you know where it is. You see a bright light and you have no idea where it is except the direction it’s coming from.
      Good luck with your high beam when someone thinks you’re further away then they thought. Go do some research before ever using your high beam again.

      It's a cross plane. Yamaha makes them on a lot of their models. Increases torque.

      ofcourse because atleast the R6 is a real R bike. the MT-07R (which is the real name of the R7 ) it's jack of many trades but master of none. meaning it's uncomfortable like a sport bike but ain't do any of the actual sport bike shit you want from it. it's a bike for people who want to look like they like sport bikes but in reality ain't about that shit

    Just a little piece of advice. For the longevity of your gear dogs, I'd suggest you blip the throttle and down shift (rev match). Even if the clutch is disengaged, the gear dogs are still knocking together while dropping through the ratios. Even though the gears are case hardened, it still has the potential to damage them over time if you never rev match.

      rev matching sounds cool as fuck too ahahah.

    • @MT-THNDR207
      @MT-THNDR207 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Uncoiledfish It kinda is. Rev matching is only comprised of getting revs high enough to be somewhere near the rotational speed of the next lowest gear. And that is to prevent the engine from entering engine braking during engagement of the gear dogs. Therefore, the engine has a seamless transition of power between the gears.

      @sanxi34 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You do realize that when you pull the clutch the engine doesn't do shit to move the gearbox right? Rev matching helps with clutch longevity, it doesn't do anything on the dogs. What does indeed do something for them is have a little bit of mechanical sympathy and make sure you're not half assing the shift and make sure you fully shift with the pedal...

      @Gonzalo Sanchidrián You must not be aware of what actually happens, but rather see the mechanism's functions on paper.
      When the engine is at operating temperature, the oil causes stiction between the friction & steel plates, as well as the interface between the bearing faces of the non splined gears and input shaft. When the clutch is disengaged, the input shaft (which is connected to the clutch boss) is still spinning, and so are the non splined gears. Therefore, when you drop down through the gears, the gear dogs impact one another. The clunk you hear is caused by the difference in rotational speed between the input and output shaft or rather the gears that are engaging.
      Additionally, the gear dog engagement momentarily breaks the stiction in the clutch pack. The plates will always stick together with the clutch disengaged because there is not enough drag to break the stiction of the oil. The input shaft spins freely without drag. The (free) non splined gears that are not in use cling to the input shaft and spin with it.
      The purpose of blipping the throttle is to bring the rotational speed of the input shaft close to that of the output shaft. This allows a smooth transition between the gears.
      You can see this for yourself. Come to a stoplight, but instead of rev matching, just drop through the gears. You will notice the clunk gets louder from fourth gear to first. Sixth and fifth have a very close ratio, so the difference in rotational speed is very miniscule.
