What a gorgeous sounding and aesthetically beautiful motorcycle! A lot of enthusiasts rave about the R1 and its torquey sound and pull due to the crossplane crankshaft, but nothing beats IMO the linear sound of Suzuki and Kawasaki inline 4s accelerating through the gears. Sound equally as good at idle. Thanks a lot for posting and stay safe. 🤙

I am Yamaha fan boy, but I have never ever agreed to the so called 'torquey sound of the cross plane crankshaft of the Yamahas. I hate them for their sound and pull. What suzukis and kawasaki produce is Pure Eargasmic symphonies to the ears man. Nothing comes close to a inline 4 engine. Whoever says that, they are doing for their own satisfaction.
Inline 4 over that crossplane anyday everyday. Now people will comment 'you need to hear r1 in person'

Used to work for U.S. SUZUKI, been up to 142( according to nippon Denso) MPH on an M.C.R.A. Yoshimura ,GSX-R 750 G. ..one tooth down on countershaft sprocket. Big fun! Be safe! 😆 🏍

Quick shifter on that Gixxer? Noticed the smooth clutchless upshifts. I've always loved the sound of an inline 4 with an exhaust since I was a kid. Currently own a K6 Gixxer with a Yoshi Slip-on.
