It’s not a meat mag only the base is metal. The main part is still plastic. It’s definitely a lot better than the firs lot of mags. I still prefer the nightingale mags though.

Nightingale mags are also really great! You sure it’s only the base? The entire mag feels like metal except the internals

There are metal mags available to purchase separately. By default the latest ver of the Fire Rat does come with a single plastic mag with a metal bottom. So far haven't had any issues with the new plastic mag.
