    The gecko ripoff accusations were always ridiculous to me. There's only so many ways to make a mag in grip, half dart, pistol sized blaster. Besides I think the fire rat is better.

      why do you think the fire rat is better?

    I have the red and black version of this and I absolutely love this blaster I like the fact that it had a weighted magazine you may say that sounds strange or whatever but to me that kind of sealed the deal for me when I found that out 100 FPS isn't really terrible it can definitely be tuned but still it is a really awesome blaster I love mine great review my friend

    So which one do you prefer? I have two Vipers and 3 Rats, my personal preference are the Rats, much more solid build quality, see here in Australia they come disassembled and we have to put them together so we get to see how they are made up, the Vipers are lighter less springs eg, trigger etc, just my opinion but with knowledge in engineering I would guess the Vipers are a step down to a price (in manufacturing costs I mean) whereas the Rats are more over engineered compared to the Vipers, I reckon the Fire Rat will out last a Viper long term with heavy use, just my opinion thus far. Both are extremely accurate though and a pleasure to shoot.

      Personally I like the viper however I do not plan on running it hard so that's a factor to consider.

    Thats a gen2 FR. The gen 3 (extended orange tip and metal magazine base) is so much better. It’s next level and better than the Viper. The gen3 FR is really the single best semi auto foam pistol on the market.

    The shirts definitely match the vaporwave-ish aesthetic of the channel.

    I think that these blasters get a bad rep and some people say it’s a copy, clone, ripoff of a few pistol style blasters which is insane to me because they don’t even look that similar. I’ve seen people say that it looks similar to a gecko, shellington flypoint, zinc, etc which isn’t true because it’s its own thing

    I think the fire rat has a better slide.

    If you swap out the Viper's spring for the Firerat's stock spring, it can reach around 115fps.

    I was thinking of getting one of those injection molded Geckos that i've seen in online stores, but that Viper in those colors though. Hmmm

    • @MisplacedMoose
      @MisplacedMoose ปีที่แล้ว

      The injection molded geckos are junk, the return spring is heavier than the plunger spring. I bought one second hand for my kid who can't prime the zinc I made for him.

    • @drflux

      depends on what you want to do. Are you near a local nerf group?

    Would your run this or your zinc?

    • @drflux
      @drflux  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Really depends on the game because the zinc hit 160+ fps and a lot of our local games are 150fps cap but to be fair if I could dial down my zinc to 150 I would rather run it. Mainly because I have 12 13 dart mags!

    • @MisplacedMoose
      @MisplacedMoose ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a low power plunger option out there that ultimately decreases the amount of compression on the spring that could take you into that 130/150 range.
      I generally use it to cram 20 coils of K25 into the standard length zincs to take them into the 200s, but they can be used to tune down the zinc as intended.
