If you use saliva on the shank of the dynaplug tool, it does lube things a bit and help you push it into the tyre.

Great tool! I have used a number of them over the years to great effect.

I was very impressed. I have a kit with me at all times now. As well as a miniature inflator as my new bike has a 12v acc socket with sufficient current. One way in which a 12v socket is better than USB. I just slot a USB adapter into it if required. Cheers!

Codger, how many miles did you travel before you had to make another repair? I used the Dynaplug to repair a puncture from a drywall screw in the rear tire of my Goldwing. After about 500 miles of riding on rough coastal roads the plug has worn below the surface and is leaking air. I think that is great service for an emergency repair. Like you it's always in the bike with a compressor. I have ordered some Ride-On to put in the tire to remedy the leak plus not have to be overly concerned about future flats. You need to spit on the Dynaplug shaft before inserting.

I only rode it for a few tens of miles, all was fine. I did change my bike then. I showed the dealer the repair and they said they would replace the tyre as a matter of course. If I’d kept the bike I would have had the tyre replaced. I see this repair as something to get you back on the road, not as a long term thing. I was a tyre fitter for a time in my youth and I learned to have respect for good rubber. As a repair on the move though I think it is brilliant and carry it with me always with the compressor. Good to be independent 👍

@@CodgerBiker That was a great option. Get a flat, get a new bike. I don't want to give up on a $220.00 tire with only 4k miles. If the Ride On fails to keep air in the tire I'll be replacing it with a car tire. Road trip in October.

To be honest it was a bit of a bummer. I got the puncture just before I was going to swap bikes, but the kit saved the day and I had no problem riding 70 miles to the dealer. If it’s leaking again can you stick a 2nd one in at the side? Just a thought

@@CodgerBiker Per Dynaplug you can install multiple plugs into the same penetration. I have not done that at this time but considering doing so prior to filling the tires with Ride On.

The hole is ALWAYS smaller than the object that caused the puncture! As the rubber always shrinks back, which is why Dynaplug works. :o)

Generally true. Though you might be surprised by some of the tyres that came in back when I was a tyre fitter. Then again, no plug could repair the extreme damage 👍

I’ve watched a couple of your vids, the first was the 790 duke. I was looking to see if there was an update on it, but looks like you have the 690 now. Did you sell the 790, not like it?

Hello. Thanks for watching. I swapped to a 790Adv when they came out. Nothing wrong with the Duke, just my inability to keep it below the speed limit, and I like to go offroad. Check out CampbellZeroOne channel for much more 790 Duke 👍

FYI ... One time when I rode my MG V7II to the MG Dealer (Iforgot why,oh yeah, I had a major crush on the female manager so I would make excuses to visit the dealership often, haha I never did get her to agree to go out with me. I later deduced that she was a Lesbian. Nothing wrong with that but they do not find males sexually attractive, sigh. Anyways, while there I noticed a nail in the front tire. Oh noes I thought ... I asked them to pull the nail out and insert a plug. They told me they do not do such as it is not safe and that I would have to replace the tire with a new one. I kinda of gently argued with them on that note (used a plug or two on my caged vehicles in the past with no problems) but they still refused. They went and pulled out the nail and luckily it was not deep enough (was a broken, piece of a nail) to cause a puncture. After watching your video here I plan on buying a similar kit you used in the video and keep it in one of my saddle bags on the bike. Thanks :-)

I always carry the plug kit and air cannisters. Good to get you home. I’d probably then change the tyre, though some people have ridden for many days with the repair. 👍

very evil people that leave such screws and nails in the road, or possibly extra-dimensional very spiteful fairies placing them in the tires when nobody is looking, either way it's just not on & is very dangerous evil and annoying.
