That’s awesome! I actually used a kit like this about four years ago on a friends bike and have said I wanted to buy one ever cents and now for years later I finally did it
There was a gas station a few years back that did the MR on all their fixes.. But for safety, a rope will get you to a tire place, for a new tire, Rope always starts leaking after a couple weeks.
Even with all those lights I had running last night it still had dark spots on the video. Thanks for the lights and now hopefully you’ll see what I was talking about this weekend about filming in a garage
I’ve used both. Had good and bad results with both. In my experience the snotty rope is more versatile, easier to apply, available everywhere and certainly cheaper than the mushroom plugs, which require specialized application tools. And I haven’t seen mushroom plug kits or extra plugs sold in stores. When the mushrooms work, they work very well. When they don’t, they, um…don’t. Also, if you’re stuck at roadside, the mushroom plug application will leave you needing air, just by the nature of the equipment.
I would have liked to see the repair done with the wheel on the bike. Second part for all that read this both or really any "safe" take as you will, repair is only in the tread of the tire. Do not repair a sidewall with these kits. Now here is one other aspect to keep in mind. The mushroom plug is only going to work on anything smaller than the sealing part of the plug. The string plugs can be doubled or tripled up for a larger hole. Now the question is would you want to ride like that? I can think of situations where I might but a dare I say...slow speed, LOL to get somewhere else or even a local shop.
I double plug the motorcycle tire once after a really bad nail hole and it was just enough to get me to a gas station so I can wait for a trailer to get there
And next time we’re on the road and you, me, or one of the guys gets a nail in the tire we will use this plug kit. I’ll video it so you can see the procedure done on the bike. I just didn’t want to shoot a nail in my tire still mounted. It’s more impersonal shooting my baby if I take the tire off.
Rope plugs don't make the hole bigger, and can be stacked. Mushrooms only work on round holes. Also, rope plugs have never failed me. Why carry a specialized plug over a versatile patch that works and is less expensive?

Been waiting for this ever since you mentioned it. Wanted a kit to keep on the bike for Emergencies. Looks like the mushroom is the winner.

@@YogisCycleService I really hope that they never have to come out of the pack.
