Thank you for this honest assessment!
Cost of living is really cheap if u moved from somewhere like the USA but for the people in south africa its expensive
Yes, Everything is relative
We are referring to cost of living in travel terms to the rest of the world.
Easy tip. To be comfortable and safe during a stop-over. book into a hotel in Sandton or Melrose arch. Book a private driver and stick within Sandton, Parkhurst, Melrose Arch and you will feel like you are in the US. Going elsewhere for a tourist unaccompanied you need more planning.
Agreed - good tip
Thanks for watching
I bet to differ. You sound like Johannesburg is one of the wildest deadliest cities and it's not. Live a little. Visit Braamfontein. Visit Fourways Market. Enjoy plenty of Johannesburg City lifestyle. You are safe. Yes you can avoid dangerous areas but any formal place like the Kylami Chesa Nyama, or Lifegrand Cafe, or Konka or Vilakazi Streer, Maboneng, 1 Fox New Town etc. These places are safe. There is no Joburg experience without Melville 7th Avenue. OMG, you will miss out. If you are a rebel like me I wouldn't miss out on good stripper shows at Sammit Hotel or Royale Hotel both in Hillbrow or any Nakedbars around that are for the wildest of course. As long as you have a transport that takes you to the place and fetch you from there. That's the safest. Inside establishments protect the Patrions with everything. Even at Underground clubs or secret bars for the select you have maximum security. Johannesburg has the craziest vibrant sinners joints. Besides all of that, University theater's like Wits Theater, and other historical theaters for people who love arts are the best places. Market Theater, Nelson Mandela Johannesburg Theater, Alexander Theater etc. Arts exhibitions are in major centre's you'd be blown away. City Site seeing Joburg Bus is a must.
There is more to Johannesburg than just wanting to experience Beverly Hills in South Africa, because Sandton and them are just that. Buildings and shopping. You don't want that
Great video 👍🏿, making me miss home...
Thank you !
South Africa has its flaws but it’s a beautiful place with beautiful people !
Yep me too miss joburg
😀😃😄😁😁😂🤪😍😍😍. Your line of questions is so funny. I have stupidly laughed to myself watching the picture you put as this video page cover. It has really made my January 2024. 🙏🤝💖💖🎉🎉🎉💖💖💖
😀👍🏻
❤❤❤
Best to do vid I found here! We have 9 hours to kill tomorrow, think we'll check out Parkhurst Square.. Absolutely I believe you are right, plenty of places in Tampa Florida I wouldn't recommend tourists visiting..lol
So glad you found it useful ! Enjoy your time here !
hi thanks for this video. We are two ladies keen to tour Soweto but are kind of worried. Do you recommend we go or skip it?
Don’t wander off alone
Go with a reputable tour provider and always stick with the group
You will be fine and it will be enjoyable 😊
Be safe and have a great time !
@@AdventuresWithGingerSpice Thank you! Do you guys have any recommended tour providers? The one we were looking at suggested us to take uber but we don't feel comfortable taking uber on our own from Soweto.
Havent tried them but this one has good reviews : www.viator.com/en-ZA/tours/Johannesburg/Soweto-Half-Day-Tour/d314-243569P1
@@AdventuresWithGingerSpice I've met many young American ladies going solo in SA
I'm guessing you stayed in one for the few safe pockets there?
what about electricity blackouts?
Very present
However most tourist hotspots and hotels have backup generators
@@AdventuresWithGingerSpiceas a Resident of the United States, will I be required to prove I have had certain vaccines when I arrive at a SA airport (yellow fever for example)? Or as I believe, any vaccines are only suggested and not actually required?
Hello. I will travel alone in South Africa and spend three days in Johannasburg. What can I do now to prevent robbery? I plan to join a local tour or hire a driver offered by Hilton Hotel to visit tourist spots. Is it okay? I live in Sandton Hilton hotel. How about the safety of this surrounding area? Also, I have arranged a airport transfer. Actually how about the safety of highway from the airport to Hilton hotel in 8 am?
Hello
You should be fine
Sandton is one of the best areas in Johannesburg
However always take your precautions and don’t walk anywhere alone - especially at night
You will be fine with tours and transfers arranged from your hotel
Don’t trust other taxi drivers
You will be fine at 8am
Just don’t travel too far at night
Have a great time and be safe !
Beautiful city
Indeed
Yes, S.A. is beautiful, value for money. Food fantastic. I am a S.African living in the uk for over 30 years. The country has drastically gone to the dogs. The way the lady was carrying her handbag is a definite no,no. You always have to watch your back. You not safe in your own house.
Go home!
Johannesburg and even Cape Town for that matter are safer than all major cities in the US from 50 out of 51 States. Look it up. Everyone can spot a tourist in any country, local know who is from there and who isn't. Just be diligent and don't be flashing wealth in people's faces because you never know who is scoping you out.
Mexico is dangerous, I lived there for 2 and a half years and never felt in danger, even in Acapulco. And being black, I obviously stuck out like a sore thumb 👍🏿 lol. Yu just need to be observant
Have looked it up. Your turn. Crime rates, especially violent crimes, are A LOT higher in Jburg and Cape Town than in almost any US city.
@@afcgeo882I was reading a tourist safety rating thing and it says you got like a 67% chance of getting attacked just because of your skin color 😆 🤣 think I'll just avoid racist hateful countries all together 😆
Finally Johannesburg is safe to live or not ?
It depends on the area
Even the best areas are still somewhat unsafe and you HAVE TO have extra security measures and be vigilant at all times
So in conclusion it is generally unsafe
@@AdventuresWithGingerSpice Un safe ah ?
What about the Johannesburg town ?
@@manoharanmanoharan2726 no not at all
Don’t even think of going there please
Even the locals are scared to wander the streets there
@@AdventuresWithGingerSpice Ok.
What's the Cost of living in Johannesburg ?
5th highest crime rate for any city in the world. It is not an amazing place.
Skip.
I'm going to guess that Aadil is a Scorpio and Lauren is a Cancer.
Totally wrong 👀🤣
@@AdventuresWithGingerSpice what are your actual signs?
My girlfriend lives there I want to go visit her
Your girl will be fine with Tyrone
