This tiny developed area has nothing on Times Square (NY), Hudson Yards (NY), Canary Wharf (London), city (London), Stratford (London), La Defense (Paris), Frankfurt, MIB (Moscow), Porta Nuova (Milano) and the rest. We all love to see the progress and rapid development of African cities but chill with these unecessary overreactions based on ignorance.

Most European Countries are done. They don't have the space and land...for further development...United States have to many Buildings...South Africa is in a much better position, we have our Natural environment in between that give us that special something....

Thank you for not being a envious Nigerian. So many come to say miserable things here about SA. Yes I agree, media(not even western media now, SA media itself) will only want us to feel miserable about our countries. Sure there are overwhelming issues but but plenty of progress too

Rosebank is in another level David when you walking there you can feel the fresh air this place has dramatically changed within a short time yes Rosebank was good before but now it is one of the best palaces in Johannesburg.

Rosebank is a STATE OF ART town, and I wish this beauty was extended to Alexander Township and many other places to give its inhabitants the real sense of life.

Has Alexander Township improved a lot since the end of Apartheid? ..I hope so.. I lived in a modest house in Rosebank .. years ago. My children went to Rosebank School just steps away! onward and upwards S. Africa! Lets hope the lights come back on ASAP~!
I last visited here 2014 and it was under construction back then...its amazing how it looks like now...I need to a visit.
The standard bank building has the most expensive glass on a façade on the entire continent

In the next 5 years Sandton will have nothing on Rosebank if not already!! Rosebank already commands more rental on commercial rentals than sandton. More developments such as this are needed around SA
Even Waterfall Midrand will be better than Sandton.

Sandton needs wide pavements: drinking and outdoor eateries to make it a pleasant place to socialise and have fun, especially at weekends. At present, it's just a glorified office park.
No street vendors in Rosebank
Waterfall City will bypass Sandton very soon because it has so much land for development. Sandton has no space at all.

Yes it does look like the TV Tower at Alexanderplatz in Berlin. Built at the end of the sixties, copying a Soviet design, this prestige-project was the fourth-highest free-standing structure in the world then and is still today the highest structure in Germany. In 1987 my mother and I went there to ride to the top but, since the quere was very long, we turned around. The friendly East-German public, however, realising we were visitors took us to the front so we wouldn't have to wait. What a view! Unforgetable!

I don't know about the "super" part, there's room for improvement in my opinion. They should build a closed in taxi rank and move those taxis because they have that tendency of bringing litter everywhere they are stationed.

Rosebank has become horribly overbuilt, there are too many suburbs that have too many massive buildings Rosebank is one of them, Sandown just down the road is equally overbuilt. Remember Johannesburg is nearby being left to die which is inexcusable.
Exactly, energy invested in keeping these small areas safe and clean should also be invested into joburg CBD, we need the biggest city in South Africa/biggest city in the world not situated on a coastline to be safe, clean and functional again. 🙂
