I hope you enjoyed your stay here. Despite living here all my life I have never walked on the sea ice, only on the nearby lake when it's frozen. Once you get used to it -7 is actually fairly warm and you'll get rather sweaty if you go out in that temperature. If you had been here like a month later you'd be facing the cold front when we had what -25-29 for like a week (at least better than -36 bith south from Oulu)
Smart move to not to go out on the ice without local knowledge.Even locals don't always get it right. The ice 🎣 fishing guys usually knows the best. 5 cm of good quality ice is enough for a pedestrian but for a ice fishing guy 4 cm is enough.old joke...
