People complaining it's expensive and they'd rather buy a different SUV have obviously never tried driving a Mazda, especially a CX-8, CX-9 or the previous version of CX-5. Ride comfort is unmatched given the price point.
totally agree! Heck even the older cx5 drives better than the latest models of these so called compact suvs!
@@teejaysalgado9819 the only valid comparison for me is probably getting a CX-8 7-seater over this given they have the same price point, but then again if you compare this CX-5's torque and hp vs the CX-8, the latter will be left behind
I hope Mazda put a turbo in the CX-8 lineup.
The people that are complaining probably owns a Geely, MG or any trash brand that came from China.
Sorry but it is expensive regardless if i havent driven one or not. I mean i havent driven a Ferrari and i can say its expensive. The issue here is its expensive for its category, be it size or branding. Its not luxury, not even above Subaru in that level and same with the size. Lets not even start with the tech as this is prev gen tech. Not even a hybrid or ev. The only thing it has going for it is the mazda blood red color and the 5 year pms. Lets be objective and remove or atleast not show the mazda fanboyism in our comments.

A cross over with big engine, n turbo with an AWD system, i think thats awesome. Love this car.

Quality is incredible. Drive is solid, the self driving under 35mph works really well too.
we have the 22 awd, we got it months before the turbo came out, sayang. it truly is an awesome drive and you really need to try it to believe it.

@@carlosantos9205 yeah, but think of it like cruise control with really good auto steering. Amazing in traffic jams, just sitting back and letting the car drive for me.

For me! Between the 6X-8 and the 6X-9
This CX-5 is alrdy o so perfect for me,.Since I'm also well despite the huge tunnel on the second row (it just shows that it's a 4seater SUV) instead of,,..A 5seater unlike its other siblings where it's got extra seats on the cargo.Which can really get uncomfortable since besides the seats they don't have air vents too unlike this one,.The CX-5 where it's got a-c's on the second row
And since Mazda,.Is my most fave ultimate dream car! Besides the Mazda-3 I might someday purchase one of these too,,..The Cx5 since for my book! Now it is a head turner too 😉

But I truly enjoyed the vid brother...oh. amd the wrap under the door is actually for drowning out road noise but as a side note. Yes, it does keep your pants clean

I understand the "smiles per liter" i have a 2018 forester premium bought it to be my daily but i kept on using my wrx. I recently sold my forester and replaced it with the mazda cx5 awd tubro nothing beats "speed and power".

Cx5 is my fave car, the styling is gorgeous but i need one as a hybrid or elec. The cost of fuel is horrendous and my country is trying to stamp out diesel vehicles
I already saw one in person when it was newly released and man it looked, feel and even smell so premium. Worth the price of 2M..!! If only I have the cash I would get this one!!! I hope you can have a test drive of the new Hyundai Tucson as well. I am considering that over this one.

Some people complaining about the price 😅 this is really more of a buy with your heart rather than a buy with your head/wallet. You don't really need that much power for a daily driver. There are even larger, possibly more fuel efficient, and more well equipped SUVs at that price point.
But you know what, there are people who'd want to buy it just because it's a Mazda, just like how some people buy Apple products (just because it's an Apple). There are people who want it just because it looks cool. There are people who appreciate the made in japan tag and the increased build quality we've come to expect with that tag.There are people who want it simply for the way it drives and its suspension tuning. There are people who want all those 230+ horses and appreciate the AWD system. And as long as they can afford it, why the hell not! Kung saan ka masaya! If you think it's too expensive for what it is or what it offers, then it's probably not for you.
I personally would really want the Mazda 3 AWD Turbo with the same engine. It's even more impractical and probably even more expensive if we had it here. But it's something I'd never get tired of looking at and driving everyday. Smiles per liter = no regrets 😆

True! Mazda's target market is not really the masses and more for people who want to enjoy the finer things in life. People usually compare it with the diesel SUVS like Fortuner, Everest, etc. because of its price point. You buy a Mazda because you want to enjoy it rather than thinking of practicality.

It's odd Mazda Philippines decided to not include the new infotainment that some of the new cx5 get on other countries, it's a huge deciding factor.

@walterwine as much as I hate Chinese brands flooding the ph market bring it on. The Japanese distributors here are getting too comfortable on their choke hold on the Filipino consumers when it comes to giving us features.

that infotainment screen should be 8" not 7" (Asean 8" spec). but so much people complaint poor that 8" screen, other country CX-5 already move to 10.25 inch HD screen start since 2020.

What's up with Mazda Phi not bringing the newer screens. Feels like they're throwing old stock screens to our country. Pretty annoying to look at when everybody else gets the new screens.
Not sure if I remember it right but do the previous CX-5 have touchscreen infotainment? I thought all Mazda infotainment system can only be controlled with the center knob behind the shifter because it's safer and it keeps your eyes on the road.
New generation cx5 and other Mazda is able to use the touchscreen if you apple car play only, basically one need to use the control knob

It's unfortunate how Subaru killed off the XT right when it's competitors became more powerful. Now it's one of the slowest SUVs out there. How the mighty have fallen no?

We haven’t owned a Mazda car before. The only thing that hold us back from owning one is the fact that their casa is somewhat distant from our place. I hope dad will consider buying this one or the Miata instead. I have been driving a number of cars over the years and Mazda has been teasing me to give it a try.
If you have the money, go for it 👍👍👍
You'll just need to go to the casa twice a year (PMS is scheduled every six months instead of the usual three months on some other brands), so really, distance from the casa won't be too much of a hassle 😉

Same here, in US the top of the line CX 50 non turbo is around 36k. While the top end is 42-44
Don't know what wrong with my driving but i don't get 8km/l in the city and 15 on the highway with this car. i can do that with my fxt but with this car i'm so far from those numbers. only 6.5-7 city and 11 highway
