  • Hey Folks, here is another video for those who asked. There was very little to clean this time as I was only changing the float pin and gasket due to fuel leakage issues. Sorry, a few parts are out of focus.
    NTorq 125 Fuel leakage problem solved. Disconnecting auto choke will help with mileage but will work best during the summer season as cold weather could lead to inconsistent ignition start.
    ⚠️ UPDATE on 22/05/2024: ⚠️
    Fuel screw settings, 1 turn = 360°. I have touched 40k kilometres and this is my test results in city ride under the speed of 50.
    1 turn on the fuel screw gives 36 Km
    1 ½ turn on the fuel screw gives 40 km
    2 turn on the fuel screw gives 41 km
    2 ¼ turn on the fuel screw gives 42 km
    2 ¾ turn on the fuel screw gives (pending)
    Float pin cost Rs. 155
    Gasket cost Rs. 33

    btw another question idk why sometimes on bs4 carburetor ntorq i need to give little bit throttle in order to start the scooter otherwise the scooter doesn't start in 1attempt,but while self starting on cold engine when auto choke is working it self starts on just 1self,i have checked rpm manually from listening to engine sound as well and rpm seems to be fine,but when engine is just warm enough to disengage the auto choke from being turned on after self starting that time idk why sometimes scooter doesn't start in 1 attempt but after giving little bit acceleration and self starting it starts,also sometimes after riding the scooter for certain km like 10km for eg then if i park it on sidestand and come back to start it after 20min then also sometimes i need to give little acceleration to self start it otherwise it fails on 1st attempt,but if i turn off the scooter after riding certain km and then start right after 1,2min it starts on single self without giving accelerator,also when i tune my carb and then turn off the scooter and check if it starts or not on 1self that time too i don't need to give accelerator while self start and also during morning coldstart it starts in single self without giving throttle at all,is this common on bs4 carburetor ntorq bro?i test rode race xp fi variant as well but regardless of situation it starts on 1self without giving little bit throttle.

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I have heard others complain about this too and I did face this issue. The service center says keep the RPM high but then the fuel drain. Could be a faulty design or air flow or something. Would need to dive deep into this.

    • @brucewayne4419
      @brucewayne4419 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mervynfernandes1yeah bro exactly i have heard from one TH-camr named dharmik rider some yrs ago he said the idle rpm needs to be set on 1640rpm on bs4 ntorq but then again that will just be too high rpm for a 125cc scooter,i guess the bs4 carburetor ntorq have this common issue because on morning when auto choke is engaged or whenever engine is cold the auto choke makes the rpm around 2000rpm i guess which makes coldstart and self start easier with just 1tap on selfstart,but after warming up the engine whenever the scooter is turned off and attempted to self start it sometimes it needs little bit throttle while pressing self start buttom otherwise it fails on 1attempt so due to this i almost made habit to give little bit throttle on pressing self start,but bro this thing is super weird probably as u said design failure or air flow issues in bs4 carburetor ntorq i guess thats causing it, because after tuning carburetor on double stand and setting air fuel and rpm both and then trying to turn off the scooter and turn on during that time it just self starts on 1st attempt without giving throttle but on real life riding condition when u ride ur scooter for suppose 2,3km and then park for 10,15min that time even if rpm is manually adjusted sometimes giving little bit throttle gets necessary, that's why i see most bs4 ntorq owners gives little bit throttle on pressing self,this behaviour is not present on bs6 fi variant probably i guess the carburetor on ntorq is like that, because i also have 12+yr old bajaj discover 150 2010 model with carburetor and it does opposite like with just 1touch on self start it starts but giving throttle and pressing self start won't start the bike,even due to that most bs4 ntorq owners here in Nepal face one major issue that is in extreme offroads downhill roads or in very sloppy downhill roads if we leave throttle and if scooter speed is less than 15 then the scooter starts off automatically which can be troublesome for night rides, complaining this on service center they said to increase idling rpm and make it to 1640 which is too high and will reduce mileage and cause overheating issues on city and while keeping scooter on idle for long,i guess manually setting up the rpm from the engine sound on hot engine,i also experimented increasing idling manually rpm on double stand till the rear wheel rotates at 3 to 5kmph shown on speedometer and on that rpm the scooter sounds just too loud and got overheating issues so i reduced my rpm back to where the rear wheel rotates at 1kmph on double stand.

    Bro I messed up with carburettor settings. Can you please tell me factory setting for air/fuel mixture screw after full tight. I have bs4 ntorqe. After messing with the carburettor it heats up fast than before after riding around 7 to 8 kms. Please tell me Bro. Sorry for the bad English.

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh man! No worries. After full tight, turn the screw 2 ½ times (1 turn is 360 degrees). It should level with the surface border of the hole.
      Keep you RPM at 1600 or put on main stand and tune screw the back wheel starts spinning at 3 - 8 Kmpl.
      If issue persist, take it to a garage. Probably the heat sensor is gone or could be a circuit issue.

    btw bro can u tell me if u use ur ntorq for short distance rides after filling up full tank petrol then after how many km the 6bar fuel indicator drops to 5bars on digital console mine seems to drop from 6 to 5bars after 27 to 30km on short distance rides and goes upto 33km to 38km on a bit long distance rides after filling the petrol tank full qne also goes on fuel reserve on 135km after full tank if used for frequent short rides and few uphill rides,but on bit long distance rides fuel reserve shows after 160km is this fine?

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well yes short rides give a very low mileage. I get 150 km before it goes on reserve which is on short rides of 10 km on average.
      But when I go for long rides, like 100 km (50 km in one stretch non stop going, 50 km coming), I get fuel efficiency of 50+ kmpl. That too riding on higher speeds. This is what puzzles me.

    • @brucewayne4419
      @brucewayne4419 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mervynfernandes1yeah bro other bikes mileage doesn't drop that much on frequent short distance rides but on ntorq it drops maybe its also because of auto choke because in winter engine gets cold even after parking the scooter after a ride for 1hr and after that auto choke kicks in during starting and even the auto choke takes same amount of time that it takes on morning time i.e 90sec to turn off and rich air fuel mixture gets kicked in during that time,and also if we are outside then its not even worth to wait 90sec again fot auto choke to turn off automatically and then ride so we ride on auto choke if it engage when we are outside from home so riding on auto choke also burns more fuel that's also another reason why frequent short distance rides especially on winter can drastically reduce mileage,last time while filling up petrol i guess i got 36 to 37kmpl that time despite tuning carburetor i guess its also because i rode on uphill hilly areas roads for few km,took offroad for some km and then other rides continued with city rides mostly

    Bro what is the factory setting for air fuel mixture screw like how many turns after fully tightening. Pls reply

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Factory setting was at 2 turns (1 turn = 360°) after full tight. I found the best setting at 3 turns after full tight for best mileage (lean mixture).
      You will lose on response time, as in pickup speed. Your top speed will be 95 max.
      Pro tip: I recommend keeping it on factory setting if your touring or going off-roading as you will need that extra performance, also that it will keep your engine cooler and lesser wear and tear.

      @@mervynfernandes1 bro many thanks for your prompt reply. But what I understand tightening will make the mixture lean and loosening will make it rich. Then how come 3 turns giving u more mileage. That means what I understood is completely wrong. As per ur reply tightening makes it rich and loosening will make it leaner. Please please correct me. Awaits reply thanks bro

      @@shahidshaikh6783 I thought the same before and had kept it to 1 1/2 turns from full tight, I had got max 30 Kmpl.

    I have race edition bs4 entorq which is leaking petrol from overflow pipe,i cleaned the carburettor but still some leakage is there what could be the solution for it? Should I change the gasket and float pin? thanks in advance.

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend changing the float pin as with time the pin rubber does not seal well and thus causing fuel to enter in the chamber, further the leak via overflow pipe.
      The gasket not really but then it cost only Rs. 30 so yea change that too.

    bro i don't think carb tuning would increase the mileage on ntorq unless i kept the mixture screw to the leanest which will also reduce power and make engine overheat,the max i got is 37 to 38kmpl only regardless of carburetor tuning might also be the road condition,petrol quality and all but still i would consider it ok because in my ride i rode around 145km after filling the tank and i guess it showed fuel on reserve once at around 118km but that time maybe its due to my scooter was on downhill,i guess fuel on reserve hit on 130km and i rode around 15km on fuel empty and fill 3.8litre petrol i guess because on this ride it took me around 9days to run 145km and i also rode around 15km on uphill,14km on offroads and rest other km on city rides only,even some of my rides were short distance like 1,2km and then starting again and riding 1,2km and. stopping,also due to winter auto choke was engaging automatically even if scooter was left on parking for more than 2hrs,so i guess 37 to 38kmpl is ok,my scooter is 13months old which ran just 4200km,i have tuned my carburetor multiple times even service center had tuned it couple of times but max i get is 37 to 38kmpl regardless of tuning and once when air filter was super clean i got even 40kmpl while riding on city but thats only once otherwise i am getting 36 to 38kmpl,i guess the max ntorq gives is like this regardless of tuning,only in highway i guess if ridden at 30 to 50kmph ntorq might provide 45kmpl atleast.I guess this mileage is on the setting of mixture screw at 2.5 turns which is the optimal factory settings for balance between mileage and power both,i guess if i set it to leanest around 3.5 turns then only mileage will increase a bit but i guess thats unsafe for piston and engine will overheat and power will reduce so could be problem in extreme uphill roads with pillion.

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear that the carburettor design is made for performance and that the auto choke does push in more fuel. I did take of the auto choke plug once and did get a increased mileage. But then I faced cold starts issue, so I plugged it back again.
      Yes fuel quality matters. The HP petrol here gives a better mileage than BP petrol. Something to do with their formula I hear. Plus it's a smoother ride.
      I am currently on a 3.5 turn lean mixture. I do lose power so can't overtake easily but no issues uphill. The bike does power off couple of times but, probably got to increase the RPM a bit. But heating issue is only if it's a long ride, like 20 km plus. Otherwise this setting is good for a short ride.
      Do check if petrol is leaking from your overflow pipe. I did have those issues in the past where the float fuel pin rubber got spoilt.
      I wanted to get me pistons heads, the rings, valves etc checked incase if adjustments are needed.
      Also, once in a while get you bike running to 80 kmph speed or above for 2-3 min. It will clean up any carbon built up.

      @@mervynfernandes1yeah bro auto choke is the enemy for mileage without it also on winter early mornings scooter won't start and with it due to winter season coming near auto choke gets engaged even if we park the scooter for 2hr without using it the engine becomes cold very soon which turns on the auto choke frequently,yeah bro i think really going down to lean mixture is the solution for getting 40+ on city rides otherwise on 2.5 turns i felt its the optimal mixture with power and mileage combined thats why i am getting 35 to 38kmpl only, regarding fuel leak bro while coldstarting the scooter on morning and checking overflow pipe theres no any leakage but yeah i have noticed when my petrol tank is full and at that time if i go offroad then from the overflow pipe, petrol wets the double stand regarding this i had talked with service center but service center says its normal,they say carburetor should be cleaned or opened only if overflow happens even if scooter is parked on side stand and said when petrol tank is full some tiny amount of overflow is normal especially if ridden on bad bumpy roads.I haven't ride it on 80kmph the max i went was at 70kmph on highway that too for 1 min only.But whenever i use to tune my carburetor i use to rev the scooter at 80kmph for 1min atleast on double stand.Btw i also say some other ntorq with very black exhaust hole i guess their mileage is even worse i suspect their air fuel mixture too rich

    • @mervynfernandes1
      @mervynfernandes1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brucewayne4419 Yes, service technician here are advised to keep a rich mixture unless if customers complaint.
      I had an issue with my carb where the gasket got spoilt and petrol would leak from the side. Even the new gaskets are very thin you don't feel like it's sealing the chamber well. I recently noticed staining again on my carb. So will probably add a little gasket paste on the existing gasket and monitor.
      Yes a fuel leak during intense off roading is possible. But its better it leaks than getting in you engine. I service the carb every 5000 km and noticed a little light brown residue settled at the bottom of the fuel chamber in past 2 services. I think the rubber fuel pipes are degrading or some leak in the air filter box.
      Thinking of purchasing a rubber lubricant or something to keep all the rubber parts fresh. I am on the 5th year.
