That woman shouting "OH NOOO" at the beginning was a familiar sound lol! The sound of dog poop being discovered on the floor, or kids making an awful mess in the kitchen. Thanks for the video this helps a lot!
Great video. Thanks for posting it. I'm about to replace the modulator on my 1983 F150. My truck drives fine except it sucks ATF into the intake and smokes every once and a while. I pulled the hose off my modulator and it was full of ATF. I'm looking forward to seeing if I have any performance improvements.. I'm thinking it might shift better / firmer...
The hose off the modulator, where is it supposed to bolt to? Does it bolt on with the starter? It fell off when I was swapping my trans and I'm not sure how to hook it back up
I have an 85 F-150 with an automatic transmission. It shifts hard and in trouble shooting what it could be - starting with the easiest stuff to replace first. Where exactly is this modulator located on the 85 model?
I messed up, my retaining screw broke..also, the bracket does not fit the new modulator (Green), so I lost 1/2 pint fluid, and put the old one back on....(with no retaining bolt) and my bolt was a 1/2 inch size. Now it really runs like crap. (I f-d up..)
The modulator operates off of vacuum from your intake to tell the transmission the load rate to shift, if you have a stumbling idle or backfires or no shifting early or late shifting or burning transmission fluid and emitting white smoke from your exhaust your modulator may be bad, typically they are fairly cheap and easy to replace
do you not have a mechanical kick down linkage also ? or is it one or the other? my c6 in my f150 wont shift down when going to pass and is a bit slow off the line in D in 1st its allot better it has no kickdown linkage thats why i ask if you have a linkage
hello my name is Jorge, my car does not make changes in D and the vacuum valve is not connected, could be for this? I installed the same engine and transmission to my VAN 93 but still did not change the gears, just go reverse and forward in a single shift. could you give me some idea that I do ..? Sorry for the translation.
My truck had a bad modulator valve, mine was also a purple stripe, which is what I replaced it with lol. All the color differences are are the different shift points, softer to firmer etc but the green one will work fine. Mine also didn't have an adjustment screw in it lol and mine was an absolute slug with my old mod valve.
FWIW, "Burn-out" in a Pickup Truck is nothing special. There is no weight over the wheels. Even the little baby pick-ups with a small 4 cylinder can do that.
Your site sucks you don't show the truck front end and the information was asking for a 1997 F250 heavy duty transmission modulator and you're two add forced viewing sucks

Thank you Man Is Easy and good video
Where is your vacuum source? Directly from the intake manifold or from the carburetor?
Direct manifold vacuum

What function does the modulator do within the transmission system? i have a problem with my ford e150 from 1993

@@Casper_V1Would the white smoke come from just one tail pipe?
What no heat shield ?

Green is for diesel
