I've never been one to sit there and tell someone which of a port was 'inferior'. I'd only go so far as to say which is inferior if one of them is literally broken in some way (Like major graphical problems, music errors, control issues, etc). It then just boils down to preference and neither choice is incorrect. I've always preferred Genesis ports of games a majority of the time because I like the way the Sega sounds (Only two ports I liked better on Snes were Justice League: Task Force and Death and Return of Superman).
the only advantage you egt playing this genesis version is the maximum number of bombs you can set which is up to 16 while in PCE version stands with 10 genesis version lacks almost all visual effects the PCE has.

It wasn't until a long time later I discovered there are small elements the game leaves out of story mode in this version compared to the original PC-Engine game (bomberman 94), nearly pointless but there nonetheless. Originally there are other coloured bombermen in the other worlds pieces at the start of the game, but after beating the first stage they all get beaten up and you have to do all their stages. After the end of the final boss they all cheer you for defeating the final boss.
Whether this was a glitch or not, I do not know- but once when a friend and I were messing around in multiplayer mode many years ago, we both found pink louies and were trying to discover their use ourselves. After a few minutes of dancing I guess we must have got bored of this and battle recommenced. I cought him in one of my bomb blasts and to our suprise, his pet remained. The louie had granted him invincibility which lasted the rest of the match. While all of this is truth- we were never able to recreate this effect. The manual was no help. I seem to recall it just hinted at some kind of "secret power".
It has one corner case of practicality in versus matches. If you grab a skull by accident and catch the perpetual motion sickness (unable to stop), doing the pink Louie's dance allows you to stop.

Yes, pal megadrive version tends to go more slowly than ntsc genesis and ntsc-j megadrive because of tv formats, but at the same time pal version had better video standard because of scar-tv (rgb), in comparison with composite ntsc a/v cables, better video resolution for pal.

I like this version's music better than the PC Engine's... It's more thematic and funky, the original sounds... dull, despite having better sound quality. Just my opinion though, maybe because I grew with the Mega Drive's.
The gfx in the PC Engine's version though... the last boss's stage, with the planet in the background, its so AWESOME, and the animations were smoother

Cool game but I don't like the first stage music; the bosses are very hard especially the crab boss A port of Bomberman '94 developed by Westone for the Sega Genesis with some changes (different music for stages 1 and 2, darker graphics and plagued with slowdown) but still a fine game ✌️ A remake of this game was made for the Super Nintendo, rebranded "Super Bomberman 3". stages 1 and 2 are identical to the original (in terms of graphics & layout) but 3 to 6 are entirely different + new music, new bosses, 2 players action and the scrolling levels are gone.

Guys, let's just face it. This is is not as good as Bomberman 93', 94' or the Super Bomberman series. This would get changed in 1995 to Super Bomberman 3 for the ferior SNES. This proves that SNES is better than Mega Drive.

It was for Turbografix 16 and was called Bomberman 94. The music and graphics were a bit different.

Can anyone remember what the pink Louie could actually do? I know it could dance but how did that help the game play? I could never work it out... :S
