Honestly one of the most unfiltered videos on youtube for the actual cost of living in Costa Rica. At the moment the cost of a kilo for chicken breast is at 4,700 colones (translates to $3.95 a/lb for chicken breast). It's all locally grown and they used the same excuse that was used in the USA. Last year it was about half that price. Costa Rica has proven that it will raise prices to test the pockets of its people and since there's no push back inflation hasn't stopped. To be 100% transparent about 90% of old websites and blogs that talk about the cost of living in CR are extremely outdated. Do your research

He must eat really fancy imported goods because that is the only way I can see the expenses being that high, I spend $120 for food for myself on the whole month, plus $400 in rent.

Is that in USD or Canadian Rupees?
I think your getting "gringo" priced. But if you have it then I guess hey spend it. I spend less on groceries for me and my husband
800 on eating out? And still 400 more on groceries
Something ain’t adding up I spend 350-400 a month in the US on groceries roughly and I spend like 100-150 on eating out, and honestly I eat alot
$1300 a month!! That’s insane, I’m going to Thailand.

We are a family of 3 living permanently in CR for over 3 years. We don't pay that much. You are paying way too much on eating out and your housing!!!
That's expensive. More than some places in the USA. You're not getting good deals. You didn't say how long you stayed there.
Wasting your money "should not be paying more than $1800, and I'm going high on the total.
Bruh, just work in California at that cost of living.
No comparison here... Costa Rica is way way better
California eww. Why would anyone want to play dodge the needle amongst all the homeless bums
why do you live on airbnb ? you can rent a regular place for way less than that
