    Hooray! i was there two months ago and saw a sloth in the wild with a baby on it's stomach. I made a video of it on my youtube channel. I enjoyed your guide to traveling there cheaply. I spend way more money than you guys did. I used Uber a lot and it's super cheap. Flights are cheap to Miami. You guys are certainly the authority on travel in Central america! like 16

    Well done guys. This was a great and very informative video about travel costs in Costa Rica. We'd heard that it was very expensive compared to other Central American countries so it is relieving to know that it is possible to travel there on a budget of $25 per person per day which is pretty much our budget. You've inspired us to want to go even more now. Out of curiosity, did the month you spent in San Jose come in at even less per day as you rented long term and didn't travel about much? As we are slow travellers too, we'd likely be something like that for some time, also housesitting if we can.
    Thanks so much for the work you've done here. It will be so beneficial to so many people. You deserve more and more subs. Keep it up!

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Mandy and Lee, this means a lot coming from you two! You do need to work pretty hard to keep the costs down, but it is certainly possible. Yes, the month in San Jose was much lower, we just went out for groceries and also found the cheaper farmers markets.

      Hi Haris, thanks for watching and we are glad that you found it helpful. We found that airbnbs were great affordable options when in Costa Rica. We found 1 bedroom studios in both Monteverde and La Fortuna for around US$25 a night and they had everything we needed. We would also checking booking.com as well to compare prices and generally airbnb would be cheaper.

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Noeline, you are right in every way! If we are travelling to Europe/the Americas, we try to stay for a couple of months to spread the cost of the flights. We also travel overland once we are there to keep the costs down. Having a 1-2 week holiday here becomes an expensive proposition and half the time you are in transit!

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Céline, you're welcome, thanks for watching! We mainly paid in Colones however we did see that a number of tourist agencies would accept US dollars for tours/transport. We used the centrocoasting website for some buses and then looked at bus timetables at bus stations for others. Here is the site: centrocoasting.com/costarica/. We found the Rome to Rio website also useful. We only just got on a Monteverde bus to San Jose, so we recommend that you prepurchase tickets the day before you intend to leave, if from a more touristy location.

    How much money do you think I should bring on my trip . I’m staying 7 night at an all inclusive resort in Liberia . Riu resort , how much money do you think I should bring in Costa Rica money . I was planing on doing maybe one tour & buy souvenirs

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just depends on what tours and souvenirs you are after. Tours can easily get to US$100 for a full day tour. If you are ignoring the cost of the all inclusive resort. It is pretty easy to get money out of ATMs if you need it and most tour providers accept USD. That said another US$300 on top of the resort cost should be plenty. Have a great trip!
