Hey, I just need to say thank you. You have genuinely saved my Aorus Xtreme 1080ti! Since purchase (bought it used locally), the card crashed after about 30 minutes of gameplay. No matter what settings I used, I would get constant crashes. The card worked perfectly fine after using MSI afterburner to slightly underclock (about -50mhz). I came to the conclusion that if I flashed my card to a weaker BIOS, it would permanently fix my issue. I followed all the steps in this video (best one of the sort on TH-cam for sure) and flashed my card to the Non-Xtreme version of the Aorus 1080ti. Card is now perfectly stable! You have just earned a new subscriber, my friend. Thanks a lot :)
I had a similar problem with a Gigabyte GTX 1650 card and I discovered my issue was the HDMI->VGA converter I was using. For some reason, if you don't power the converter externally and have multiple displays connected, the card hard crashes after about 30 minutes of running any 3D graphics application and sometimes the GPU fans ramp up to 100% as well (and in one case, a fan alarm went off). So, in my case, all I had to do to fix it was to power the converter externally. Before I discovered the solution, I also tried under clocking, which actually worked for a little while, but then the issue came back.
This is probably the best tutorial on youtube right now. I got my 2080 FE to flash to the EVGA XC Ultra bios on the first try, now I can go below 40% fan speed!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. My GTX 760 kept giving driver issues. After changing the BIOS from the Asus stock BIOS to the NVidia standard BIOS, I have no more issues. I am really grateful to you.
Bios flashing can BRICK your card please be careful when doing this. I have had 2x graphic cards bricked due to flashing the incorrect bios. You will not always get the same results as Coil Whine so make sure you compare the different bios's together so you dont brick the card. In this case for the RTX 3060ti I'd stick with the Zotac for now unless you have the technical skills to fix a bricked card if you get that error. Bios bricking is not covered under warranty!!
thank you, today I flashed my Evga Rtx2080 Super from XC to a FTW3 vbios and went flawlesly thanks to this tutorial. Now the card is smoother and way more stable than before. I'm so happy thanks again
So if you flashed your bios, it didn't work and you can't boot or you boot for a split second before your pc shuts off, here's what you do: Crash your pc multiple times so that it goes into the troubleshooting menu Select command promt Type in DISKPART and hit enter Then type in LIST VOL and hit enter again Find the drive where you installed nvflash Type in EXIT and hit enter Then type in your drive's letter, for me it was C: also no need for \ at the end Now your directory should turn to that drive instead of X: From there you can lookup nvflash directly, or do it just like in this video, and basically do the flash process again using your backup bios ROM. I went through the process of figuring this out so you don't have to in case you nearly brick your gpu, good luck!
I wish you could understand how much I appreciate you. I followed your steps EXACTLY and was able to enable G-Sync on my GTX 1080 MXM from Sager. My card died about a month ago, and was able to snag a new and unused one from Ebay, and was able to enabled G-Sync on the new card. YOU'RE A HERO.

Thank you so much... the card get so hot like 85c i order new thermal pads for my card.. cant wait to change them
Hello friend, could you explain to me, did you buy a trinity OC, which had a normal trinity bios? did you change the vbios to OC again? I bought a 3090 trinity OC, I was thinking of putting a few of the normal ones without OC to keep the board cooler
Thank you for the quick and simple tutorial, I successfully flashed my ASUS Turbo RTX 2080TI (which has lower fan speed of 27%) to a PALLIT Dual card, I am now enjoying much better noice levels (especially on idle, which is where most of my issues were)
My brother. Today I did the exact same thing. I have an Asus Turbo 2080 Ti with +12% Power limit only, you know. I did the same as you did the flash of a Palit with 310w Power limit. And it worked really great. Buuuuttt the fan of my card was very underused. With 100% fan speed being only 2200 RPM, and with the turbo BIOS it went up to 4500rpm without problems..... So I had to put the original BIOS because it simply stopped being Power limited, it started to be thermal limited because The fan is not allowed to run at Max speed. I mean... At the necessary speed. How did your board look? Did the BIOS you used have this problem? How fast are your fans going?
I realize this is old now and nobody might ever see this but I MUST voice my appreciation. In the process of getting Re-Size bar to work (with many hurdles, all of which I cleared over the span of ~3 hours) I got stuck on every setting being correct, but nvidia control panel and gpu-z both still showing it as disabled... Finally, after much fucking around, I figured out my 3060ti's VBIOS was not the most recent, but MSI's official software refused to detect a newer version. I found one on the very same site linked here, and followed this process, and everything works flawlessly and re-size (fuckin FINALLY) works! In short, a thousand thank you's!
Understand that you need integrated graphics for this (or a separate GPU.) Disable the primary, and screens go black.. OR use safe mode and disable the gpu there. No driver woes to get you a black screen.
This video is so good it showed me how to actually do it, before this vid i used to take away the gpu from the motherboard and boot into windows with iGPU then use DDU to delete all nvidia drivers and then put the gpu back in the pc and then it would boot for a couple of seconds and i could go into device manager and turn off the gpu driver and eventually flash back to original vbios

Would you say this would shorten life of a card I plan to use to mining if I went to 110% on Zotac with an open case/ambient cooling? Or is the risk more so in the getting everything setup part. Great video again :) after watching your backplate video I'm also wondering if after a couple months I should pull mine out and check for that thermal pad oil like you had
The memory on my 5700xt only gets hot from mining because its a memory intensive workload, the 3060 ti should be fine long term i think dell just limits it because they have no incentive to let it rip
I have a unique problem. My card is an ASUS card originally sold in Asia. Since the latest Nvidia driver update, it no longer is compatible and drops signal and defaults to the driverless video mode. Every time I boot the computer, I essentially have to reinstall the old drivers for it as it dumps the drivers every time it powers down. It’s the weirdest thing.
Is it a general rule of thumb to only use VGA BIOSes from other manufacturers that use the same number of fans on their models of the same GPU? I mean like are the fans controlled separately or do all fans get controlled by the same settings so the actual number doesn't really matter? (ofc one should keep the power consumption in mind like in your example) I'm thinking of flashing a FE BIOS on my MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X for downclocking it because it's been running hot lately inspite repasting it.
I have a MSI RTX 2080 Duke, 3 fans. I flashed it with the EVGA FTW3 Ultra bios. It worked perfectly, I've been running it like that for around 4 months now. But now I'm getting odd crashes, usually when RT is enabled in games, It's also happening with fullscreen videos, TH-cam & VLC so far. It's bizzare, the only thing I can think of is the bios flash? Would it be recommended to revert back to the original bios? I have it backed up obv
Hello, I flashed my 3070 gaming x trio to the suprim x bios, everything seems to work but battlefield 2042 dont Start anymore. After flashing back to my original bios it worked again. Any ideas to fix it?
My lowly GTX 1660 on my second pc isn't accepting any other bios. I tried only the ones with two fans and pretty much the same everything else except for the higher memory clocks. Mine is 1830 there are a few with 1845 and 1860 but this POS doesn't take any of them. That's why it's super important to grab the bios for your card from GPUZ. Please don't forget to do that!
Hi! I'm waiting for the Gainward 4080 Phantom non GS. I believe they're exactly the same and I feel like I should definitely flash the GS version as soon as it arrives. Am I right?
I tried four different BIOS including what was listed as the actual HP GTX 1650 SUPER BIOS and none of them worked. I purchased an HP branded GTX 1650 SUPER that was listed as broken and it displays but it's got purple artifacting across the screen. Windows 10 Pro recognizes it in GPU Z and Device Manager but it has an exclamation point and it doesn't appear in the Performance tab of Task Manager. I updated the driver using GeForce Experience and it worked to correct the exclamation point but it continued to not show up in Task Manager. And as soon as I restart the computer, it goes back to showing an explanation point. Does anyone know what the purple artifacting is? I figured someone might have screwed up a BIOS flash but it doesn't appear to be the case. I read online it could just be a dead GPU and I am SOL. I took the card apart and inspected every little bit and everything looks immaculate. The card looks brand new. If it's not a bad BIOS flash, what else would cause this? But thank you for the informative video. I now know about flashing a vbios where I didn't even know that existed before.

So if you flashed your bios, it didn't work and you can't boot or you boot for a split second before your pc shuts off, here's what you do:
Crash your pc multiple times so that it goes into the troubleshooting menu
Select command promt
Type in DISKPART and hit enter
Then type in LIST VOL and hit enter again
Find the drive where you installed nvflash
Type in EXIT and hit enter
Then type in your drive's letter, for me it was C: also no need for \ at the end
Now your directory should turn to that drive instead of X:
From there you can lookup nvflash directly, or do it just like in this video, and basically do the flash process again using your backup bios ROM.
I went through the process of figuring this out so you don't have to in case you nearly brick your gpu, good luck!

What is your recommendation or advice?

How to fix this
'nvflash' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
I found the solution you have to put name like nvflash64 cause mine was the 64 bit version
hi, i got the following error message can you help me with that:

@@paulius5017 honestly i dont have any idea what i did in this time, i simply forget😂 i dont even remember why i watched this video lol😂😂
Fun guide ngl. learned alot thanks!
Nice one! Can you always revert to the original bios or there's a chance of bricking the gpu forever? Thks
if it can be flashed (not bricked) you can flash it back
Thanks bro finally some1 with a good tutorial
Thanks, Tech Jesus Jr.!
I have an RTX 3050. It's TDP is 130W and I managed it to make it consume 155W on average in a game called "Assetto Corsa". It even tounched 161W!
thx, this worked, I finally have resizable bar
Thank you boss keep up the good work😁
help pls! i got this error in CMD and i dont know how to fix : ERROR: GPU PCI Device ID mismatch.
Worked for my 1060 very good and smiple one ❤❤❤
What a great tutorial!
You're suited for this!!
How's the mining going for you ? 😂
It’s the weirdest thing.
what kind of card is it?
Is it a general rule of thumb to only use VGA BIOSes from other manufacturers that use the same number of fans on their models of the same GPU? I mean like are the fans controlled separately or do all fans get controlled by the same settings so the actual number doesn't really matter? (ofc one should keep the power consumption in mind like in your example)
I'm thinking of flashing a FE BIOS on my MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X for downclocking it because it's been running hot lately inspite repasting it.
Excellent instruction and tutorial. Thanks so much. :)
'nvflash' is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program or batch file(how to fix this)
Thank you so much. This just saved me 40 or more dollars!
Hello,
I flashed my 3070 gaming x trio to the suprim x bios, everything seems to work but battlefield 2042 dont Start anymore.
Thanks you very much first time i try and amazing❤
Hi! I'm waiting for the Gainward 4080 Phantom non GS. I believe they're exactly the same and I feel like I should definitely flash the GS version as soon as it arrives. Am I right?
this fixed my GPU thx man
I tried four different BIOS including what was listed as the actual HP GTX 1650 SUPER BIOS and none of them worked.
Pretty simple TH-camr Not Like another youtuber
thank u for the best tutorial my 3060ti Aorus Eagle now become Aorus Eagle OC

Possible to flash a weak Quadro BIOS onto a RTX 3050?

Thanks Just Flashed my 1080ti to factory
Hi. I tried to do it based on the video, but I ran into an error. What could be the problem? Asus gtx 660ti gd20g ,ERROR: Software write protection enabled, unable to erase EEPROM.
help its says nvflash is not recognized as an internal or external command, opperable program or or batch file, fixed just install the exact same version of nvfkash as shown in the video and it will work

If I don't have dual graphics, can I do it without disabling my GPU?
I did it with my i7 9700k and 2080s without integrated graphics. It will just look weird and zoomed in (or not). Like when doing a DDU or being in safe mode.
Great Tutorial!
When i use the nvflash command nothing happened
