    "the more you seek perfection, the more it will elude you" - true statement homie

      If you want to assign expectations to a part of the creative process, aim it at just trying to have fun.

    🙌🙌🙌. You're spot on in this. When I feel I have all the time in the world to work on something I'll tend to overthink to the point where I never make it past the 2nd chord. When I'm under pressure and have to get something out in a hurry to meet a deadline I impress my self EVERYTIME! 99% of my best work has came from those moments where I didn't have the luxury of time. Moving forward is key! Submitting to the process is key! And that is indeed much easier said than done... especially in todays recording climate where there's an endless amount of options.

    I’ve had times when writing some music where I think it sounds so boring at first. But I push through and keep adding another simple thing here and there. Then when I finally play it back it sounds super complicated and amazing. But it’s really the little things added together that come together as a whole at the end. And man the vibe of listening back to it after hours of working is unbeatable. Great video!

      It’s too easy to convince yourself an idea isn’t good enough before the seeds even had time to germinate. Just remember to have fun and it’ll all work out.
      Thanks for checking out the channel.

      It’s the best way to create something honest.

      I’ve been dabbling with pro tools and am ready to move back to Cubase.

      Just have fun! It doesn’t need to be anything serious.

      Having fun is the best advice. Sometimes making something silly gets those creative juices going.
      I'm no expert but for me I have found keeping an idea notebook really helps. Have an idea? Get it in the notebook or recording app before it's gone.
      If the idea or framework is captured it is easier to come back to and iterate on across multiple sessions.

    You missed a trick by using a click at the beginning. You could have hid the grid instead and made a best-effort run-through with the shaker so you had the tug & pull of human time. God song idea though

      Thanks for checking out the channel. For my workflow, abiding to a reliable grid saves a lot of headache. I keep the drum/percussion quantization pretty lax to achieve that push and pull though!

    Hey what kind of acoustic guitar is that?

      @AlecBoyd  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a Fender PM-2. They’re made overseas but constructed of all hardwoods. Great guitars for the price.
