That was a great lesson. It makes easier to understand the timing while transcribing other artist work. As for running your own lines, you can keep time better and understand where you are. Great stuff
Hey John! Thanks, yeah I've found that the hardest part with teaching people how to play faster lines is the timing go into them and then coming back out of them. By breaking them down like this, it makes it a whole lot easier to feel and figure out the timing.

thank you Scott! On the triplets and 16th notes can you describe the tonguing pattern?
Hey Brock, good question! For the triplets - tongue the first note of each triplet. For the 16th notes - tongue the first note of the whole 16th note run (no matter how many beats) and then tongue the land note (the first note AFTER the 16th notes). That will really line things up and make them sound clean.
