- I flew this mission with less than 10% cowl flap open and with inlet flap completely closed. A glance every now and then and the cylinder head temp gauge showed in the green. Even after combat and boost and all. So its no drama to run closed cooling. Not sure if it did anything for power generation though. Plane looked much more streamlined with cowl and inlet flaps closed. Secondly I set the sight to 500 yards and a target wingspan of 30 feet. I did eventually get a kill from around that distance. Also: All the planes involved are on Ace mode and all have 40 to 50% fuel.

Shooting when the target fills your gunsight is more effective.
Conventional wisdom for the P-47 in Europe was to dive away, zoom climb and force the Germans to fight at altitude, above 25,000', where the "Jug" could hold its own in a horizontal and vertical fight. At low altitude, the German fighters would routinely turn inside the Thunderbolt.
Sounds right given the characteristics of the jug, cheers :)

Can't wait for the P38. Thunderbolt and Lightning, very very frightening (for Blue). Galileo! EDIT: BTW, the RAF colors really look good on this airplane.
P38 is a fast plane and is going to be amazing to fly! We got some awesome planes headed our way - in hopefully the not too distant future!

Nice video, when you chase the enemy, try to get as close as you can before shooting, so I will score many more hits. Also the projectiles from the distance lose impact and penetration because they lose speed.
I dont often use the gyro gun sight, but it is going to be very useful in a plane like the Thunderbolt.

vkb gladiator is the joystick to get, as to laptops hmmmm. Get a gaming laptop that has at leastva GTX1080 gpu in it
