- Two aircraft from Battle of Bodenplatte. The K-4 is ultra fast at climbing and it is well balanced and agile. It is probably slower than the 47 at 27,000 feet, but down lower, it is the faster.

Les canons de 20 mm en gondoles sous les ailes étaient montés sur les 109 G4 et G6. Le K4 tirait des obus de 13mm avec deux mitrailleuses de capot et avait un canon de 30 mm dans l'axe de l'hélice.

And how is it that in every encounter, the P-47’s miraculously appear in front of the 109’s in a perfect position to get blown out of the air... 5:00 to 7:00 from behind and never saw the 109 coming? And at the first burst of tracers from the 109, they just continue straight and level?
Did maneuverability actually improve with the K-4 compared to the G model?
good question! My initial impression of the K-4 in the game at least, is that its the same plane as before, just more refined and higher performance and more user friendly. - Just a hunch it may have better high speed maneuverability.
Manoeuvrability in real life actually got worse, particularly elevator response at high speed because of the weight increase over the G models, superior speed and climb more than compensated for these losses.
Gavin Sherlock well. I really with that it’s elevators are functional at high speed, or else you get a plane that cannot maneuver and go fast or cannot go fast while maneuvering.

@@xfliegerkorps8676 i believe they are new models for the US and the German late war aircraft, Fw 190 A-8 and Bf 109 G-14 got their late war German pilot model as well. I also believe that there is a British pilot model in the works.

Well.. After other games I played and books I read, I understood, that bfs with hanging cannons are much slowly and heavier, than bfs without extra weapons. So, I never took extra cannons in fights. The second thing - I never entered to fight with jugs higher than 10K feet without an advantage in altitude. If I meet a pair of jugs in 15K or higher, till 27K feet - I have no more than 1 chance to shoot, than run and/or die.
Your fight is really strange for me. That D jugs must pull you up on those turbochargers, no turns, just smooth straight move up. And take a back looks at you, your bf is much slower. Than, when you tired to chase them and go down, they must u-turn and shoot you.
There is problem with flight model in that game or what?

Survivalist if I'm not mistaken mw50 was only effective up to about 20K feet. So I wouldn't be surprised if up at escort altitudes the p-51 and p-47 did out preform the k4. Below that then yes I'd give the edge to the k4.
@@Big1_ Get up to 25-30,00ft and the P47 has the advantages. The turning ability of all the 109 variants used on the Western Front were countered by top P47 pilots using their superior rolling. Done right, they would cut the corner on 109s and have them saddled. Coincidentally, F-4 crews learned to use the exact same maneuver when dogfighting Mig17s over North Vietnam.
P-47 only won by numerical superiority, what the fuck are you talking about.

In game land ...maybe, but the 109 never could carry that much ammunition. AND ... The P47 could out climb any 109. The dog fight scenario is bogus because no P 47 pilot worth his salt would make those moves.

K-4 was the ultimate 109 variant. Its way better than the 47 all day long.
