I'm having to hide the screen from my boss (police Captain) . . . he thinks I am investigating something . .. love your build videos!!!
Haha I won't tell... thanks for watching!
😂
An excellent job on the M8 Hank! I always love your tutorial and build videos, because after many years absence from the hobby, I have learned a lot from your channel. Back in the day, I remember building Airfix kits packaged in plastic bags, and all you needed was some glue and a couple of tins of Humbrol paint to build a plane or car. Noe there are so many new products, paints, and beautiful kits available, I basically had to start from scratch and relearn how to build, paint and weather my models. Channels like yours, who like to share your experience, are teaching modellers how to hone their skills, and I for one, express my grateful thanks to you for that. I hope to see many more episodes my friend, so please keep them coming. Cheers from Australia, and stay well and safe 🇦🇺!
Another?
Great job.Who is inspires me to watch your videos can't wait for the next one
Very nice! It's one of my favorite U.S. vehicles. I like how you weathered it, especially in regard to the pigment application.
Great video and kit! I've built two. Also like Value Gear stuff! Have quite bit of it. Met the owner, Steve, at the IPMS Nationals in 2022 and again this at this year's Nats. Great guy and I always buy sets and accessories from him.
After many decades away from the hobby and now back I realize recently that I have never made a tank model. With all your experience what is a good first model for someone with limited skills with tanks. To aid you in your decision, I would like to build something that represents Canadian armour during WW II. Thank you once again I enjoy watching your videos.
Love your videos. Fan from
NZ 🇳🇿
Looks good. At first I thought your olive drab base was awfully dark, but your light dust application lightened the model really well.
Excellent work as always sir!
As always, great video. Professional, informative, and charming. It inspired to buy a Tamiya M8. Awaiting delivery. I've got a slew of other things to work on, as most of us do, but the M8 called to me. Thanks!
Love the Roger pop ups.
Haha glad to hear it! 🐕
If you didn't mention the decals I wouldn't even have noticed! 😂 Nice work as always Hank, love the channel! 👏
As always SprewsNBrews fantastic job
Looks awesome as usual 👍
Nice job, and some good instructional material as well...!!!
yeah I will defiantly pick this kit up as my next build...Nice build
I love 1/35 armored cars!!!
Great build, love watching
Looks great.
superb!!!! 👏
Lovely little kit hank! I did one earlier this year (Tamiya) between this and all the Puma kits coming out, it has to bethe year of the scout car! Nice quick simple little kit to unwind with, and have fun!
Hello Hank. First, let me thank you for your videos and channel. Thanks to you and a few other channels, and retirement, I’ve been able to start building models again after many years. Although I’ve learned so much I still am puzzled/challenged by the sequence of gluing and painting. You and others seem to build first and then paint, but there are still many situations where I have to paint tiny parts or subassemblies before gluing. I’ve tried masking, scraping, sanding and even painting with solvent to remove paint before cementing, but I could really use some help/advice with this. I look forward to your response (and from others) and thank you again. I’m finishing a Takom 1/16 Ontos now.
Great job
The build looks great, and honestly it looks just realistic without the decals. I think sometimes mistakes lead to a better result.
Hey Hank, I have a quick can use Vallejo’s air paints with a brush. Great channel by the way
Really nice job. I am literally working on this kit myself right now. I sourced my 37mm shells from eBay -- there's a Chinese company makes a detail set intended for Takom's M3 that includes both a 75 & 37 barrel as well as shells. The company is called Chuanyu.
Just in time as I bought this kit a few days ago and I am about to start working on it soon 👍
Oh awesome! Enjoy - it's a lovely little kit 👍
Very helpful thank you 👍
I play Battlefield 5 and I use the M8 Greyhound every time I use armor this is awesome man great job!
Oh nice! Thank you!!
Funny enough, I'm planning on building & painting a Greyhound from my Bolt Action army today.
Excellent build, just one note your wheels mud/dust is on the outside of the tyre the grooves in the tread are black I kinda thought it would be the other way round anyway I'm looking forward to the next build.
Just picked one of these up, looks like a great build and I build one a while ago
Very nice - enjoy!! It's definitely a fun one 👍
Another great Video mate. You'll have to get over to the UK to visit our fantastic Duxford Air Museum and Bovingdon Tank Museum they are both a real pilgrimage.
Subbed! Excellent tutorial, I'll have this as my guide when I start using an airbrush. Just a question though - the decals are applied after you paint the base color and before any gloss pattern right?
Wow Hank the videos you make are awesome but I’m confused as to what paint I should be using. I’ve always used Tamiya but recently I’ve started using Vallejo, but I see you’re using ammo paints. What is the difference and what are your thoughts about Ammo vs Vallejo?
haha yeah I was thinking all the time: First do decals, then weathering, when will he do the decals? :D happens lol.
Looks great; but the problem I have with varnish after with dry pigments is that the varnish washes out the pigments. How did you prevent that from happening?
Hi Hank I fear given your skills we are missing out so how about building a diorama for your models , build some houses add trees or hedgerows etc bring those models to life .
A question: do you do the metal effects like the shovel, the weapon, etc. before or after the matte varnish? Greetings and thanks!
Hey! Im New To Modelling And I Have A Question, Why Do I Have To First Spray The Vehicle In Making Black And Paint It After That
Unrelated question, if I’m painting American WW2 infantry, what color do I use for his Ammo belt, canteen and back pack. I already used khaki for M41 jacket, just trying to get a different color for equipment. Please reply
German Camo Beige works pretty well! 👍
@@SpruesNBrewsThanks!
I built that…in the late ‘70s. 😆 I just remember how tiny it felt compared to my other tank models.
You should find some 1930s/40s French music playing in the background…for a little ambiance. Or in this case American Big Band sounds.
It will bug you till you do slap some serial numbers and 'remnants' of national insignia on this Dog... Nice job, by the way!
Ha! Fair enough... keep me on it! 😅
Looking good 🍻 Have you tried mig ammo atom line?
I need a M8 😅
I haven't yet! I need to soon! Thanks for watching 👍
hey man, do you know I make the line between the tank barrel dissapear. Do i need to sand it or use putty or something? Tanks!
I always sanded it, lightly. Or scrape it with a sharp Exacto knife.
Why black as a primer? Isn't that hard to cover? I a total neophyte and still use rattle cans on my first project.
I never put decals on my models. For some reason I don't feel entirely comfortable doing that.
The floor of the fighting compartment should be olive drab not white
