I got super excited when I realized that the Migginses were back. Putting the world's cutest older couple in a world of horror and madness is always a good idea.
this is very true, I used to always go back and rewatch the old yogsquests and theyre still iconic but getting what is essentially a weekly yogsquest is so good
The music cut at 33:56 is just so powerful geez 😂 The cut to commercial prolonging the silence was unfortunately perfect too, because I was just so flabbergasted I needed to recompose myself 🥲
I always love it when old characters return in CoC, I absolutely loved Archie and the Migginses. The moment I saw Lewis and I knew this session would be amazing, I absolutely love him in every role play video he's been in from Ameebo to John Steel.
Im so happy to see tom b playing archie again, as well as ravs and harry playing the miggins, and last but not least it's always a pleasure to see lewis roleplaying, im honestly disappointed we're not seeing the return of john steel, cat killer, despite his untimely demise.
Holy shit the music cut at 33:55 had me in fucking tears. I really love the editing and think it's only gotten better since the start of MQ, also love the cast so much they're such a blast to watch!
Migginses are back. Lewis is here. And look, it's Oscar's predecessor! Be prepared! 33:57 - you can tell Ravs is the manliest of them all. He calls Rupert's state "just a bad cold"
The key to surviving a game of Call Of Cthulhu is to play a character that belongs on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. That way you're in a Clark Ashton Smith story and you've got a chance.
I think it depends on the GM. If they're the right type you can save your character by having them be unambiguously sweet and loving with a spouse, especially if they're middle aged or older. Some GMs will balk at causing a horrific bad end to the sweet elderly couple. This can work great if the spouse is another PC. Cause unless you're a real monster you will feel like absolute *scum* for killing the little old lady who's always doing some knitting and talking about her grandchildren. And there's this asshole mobster PC _right there_ who you'd feel way less bad if they died instead!
The sound design was so good this episode! Especially when they were filming the book in the library, 10/10. It helps paint the environment so well. Appreciate all the hard work that goes into making these!
I just finished playing my first Call of Cthulu campaign playing this exact story! And I only got into CoC because of Mystery Quest and the older campaigns back on the main channel years ago! Thanks for everything Tom & pals.
Making a comment for commentsake and to boost algorithm, LOVE YOU TOM for making this channel happen, and ofcourse everyone behind the scenes from audio editing to filming the sessions you all make my week alot better and every week i look forward the the upcoming episode 🤗
This is the only CoC adventure I've run so far, and the Mystery Quest gang is already going off the rails lol. I was inspired to run CoC by Mystery Quest, and I'll be running Paper Chase in a few days for two of my friends, and then bringing the two groups together to run The Disintegrator, because I loved both so much when Tom ran them.
Been so hyped up for more 1920's Call of Cthulhu! Excited to see how this goes. Your last one had me run Saturnine Chalice for my own group and they loved it! I'd really enjoy seeing you run another one of the Pulp modules
Great episode!! Love the return of Sonny (Sunny?) and the Migginses, as well as the addition of the very lucky Major! Also the inclusion of Prof. Armitage is a nice touch. And the scene of them filming De Vermis Mysteriis! *chef kiss* And the sound design of the rolling film in that moment... delightful. Can't wait to see that film get developed! I'm also enjoying these longer intro episodes!!
Always happy to see some more Call of Cthulu, and what a lineup of guests for today's episode! Super excited for this campaign. ETA: The return of so many brilliant characters is so good
Glad to see more Call of Cthulhu, it’s my favorite. Such great characters too, everyone works so well together and Tom manages the sheep herding to keep them on track.
Amazing timing! I was just reading up on this adventure cos I was gonna Keeper it for my friends. Watching this will be a great way to see any cool ideas I could use in my own try :D
Ooh heck yes, I love it when Tom runs Call of Cthulhu because it's often scenarios I've done myself and I'm very keen to see how he handles Edge of Darkness!
wonderful start...smilied all the way though...majors speech and dice roll was amazing...and then willy opened his mouth...! laughed so much, thank you
It might be my imagination, but I’ve noticed recently Tom has been getting better and better at doing different voices/accents. Either way, great episode!
it would be so cool to have the returning chracters to have something gained (or lost!) from their previous adventures! a spell or two would be so cool but I do understand that makes the adventure little too 'meta' haha
I LOVE this group. Also, I don't know how viable it would be (logistically or in this system) but I would KILL for a CoC one-shot with all the players who have appeared at once. The chaos would be worthy of Lovecraftian Mythos in and of itself
September is actually a wonderful month for New England, you still have hot days but it's starting to get cool. Nowadays every few years we get a hurricane in September but in classic Lovecraft times that would be unheard of. Such weather was so rare that no one believed my great great uncle when he was a young meteorologist and tried to warn people about the hurricane of 38. So if you ever want to do something unexpected for 20s New England have a elder god of the sea cause a hurricane
Well well, if it isn't my favourite time of the week. Great cast for this one too (though aren't they all) and a new(?) Tom voice in the Monsters Inc admin lady. Looked it up out of curiosity, the Major is pretty much the perfect age to have met and learned from Baden Powel, especially if the major served in the Second Boer War
I'm happy and a little shocked to see Mr. and Mrs. Miggins return. After what happened in their last campaign, if I were them I'd have nope'd right out of poor Rupert's room. Super excited to see this new story unfold though, sally forth lads!
I got super excited when I realized that the Migginses were back. Putting the world's cutest older couple in a world of horror and madness is always a good idea.
love this power couple, nothing stops them being wholesome while trotting through eldrich horror
She's a fabulous author and amateur sleuth and no one makes a Jessica Fletcher reference?!
Mystery Quest is one of my favorite things the Yogscast has produced and I have been watching since 2015. You are doing great Tom!!
this is very true, I used to always go back and rewatch the old yogsquests and theyre still iconic but getting what is essentially a weekly yogsquest is so good
i have only been watching these videos for a couple of months, only one of our RPG groups can do voices like the Yogscast can.
To clarify things I started playing D&D(not AD&D) in 1976.
Mrs Miggins' next book is going to be called The Crazed Calamity of the Cursed Camera at this rate.
Another Mystery Quest and another Call of Cthulhu! This day just got much better
Chaotic neutral just played a coc game as well
@@Ali-ey9szwas about to say 2 CoC games in one day 👌
I saw that one same day! Much excitement.
Accidentally making an evil artifact made me spit out my coffee, I'd love if this tape becomes a thing in later sessions
almost seems like the spirit of the book got copied into the tape or something.
Was so happy to see Archie back, looking forward for the return of Maggie and Perry!
Otto and Schmutzie would also be a welcome sight.
The music cut at 33:56 is just so powerful geez 😂
The cut to commercial prolonging the silence was unfortunately perfect too, because I was just so flabbergasted I needed to recompose myself 🥲

That absolutely killed me xD
The editor appreciates you pointing this out. I almost didn't notice. It's such a hard turn. 😂
Fr, the silence after 😄
Yay! More mythos!
*This is a comment, for the Angorythm.*
Bought a new jar olives to eat during this, very excited
Garlic stuffed olives are really good.
BRING OUT THE OLIVES

It's all fun & games until you accidentally get teleported to Saturn & realise you were a snake wizard all this time
@@alharron2145 what's that a reference to?
@@mattymerr701 Technically 2 references: "The Door to Saturn" & "The Double Shadow."
Having Mr. And Mrs. Miggins back is so exciting! This one is already shaping up to be fantastic!
Being oblivious to days of the week makes it extra nice to see a surprise new Mystery Quest video ❤
ignorance is truly bliss
But do you know what month it is?
@@aethernaut1899 genuinely missed an April fool's joke for 2 weeks because someone told me to check the date and I just saw "yeah, it's next Friday."
It's on a regular schedule? I never noticed. I think we're on two different sides of the same oblivious coin.
How big a meltdown will Major Brewis Ginly have when he finds out it's a Jinn, not gin 🥲
I love that 'Mrs Miggins' is her actual author name that gets printed on books
Love, love, love me some Mystery Quest Call of Cthulhu! Can't get enough of the stuff! Great to see Lewis and other Tom back at the table too!
I liked the video as soon as Tom said "Filth elemental". Something about his delivery was just great
The sound design was so good this episode! Especially when they were filming the book in the library, 10/10. It helps paint the environment so well. Appreciate all the hard work that goes into making these!
Fighting the elder terrors with the powers of being chatty, affable and just aggressively friendly and knowing everyone!
I just finished playing my first Call of Cthulu campaign playing this exact story! And I only got into CoC because of Mystery Quest and the older campaigns back on the main channel years ago! Thanks for everything Tom & pals.
54:53 ooooh kind of hieroglyph-esque, but not Egyptian?? I think you’re looking at some Goa’uld there Tom
Yessss Chaotic Neutral and Mystery Quests both uploaded CoC! A great way to end the weekend 🎉
I love returning characters. Keep up the fantastic content. Thanks to Tom and all the gang
I'm assuming now that Archie drives a hearse with all of the rear windows blacked out so that he can develop film back there
I LOVE all the content and variety, but nothing beats a session of Call of Cthulhu. Always my favourite!
Keep the Call of Cthulhu coming! Really loving the spooky stuff recently
Great to see the return of some of my favorite characters
so happy to see Mr Lewis back on Mystery Quest. His character already seems great.
Woot! More Cthulhu, love the spooky, horror, monster Mystery Quests! Great cast of players!
The intro's start had such a good tone, the malaise while being a little upbeat. Great story telling being supported by good editing
Making a comment for commentsake and to boost algorithm, LOVE YOU TOM for making this channel happen, and ofcourse everyone behind the scenes from audio editing to filming the sessions you all make my week alot better and every week i look forward the the upcoming episode 🤗
I love all the games you guys do, but Call of Cthulhu gets me extra excited! Always a favorite 🔥
It’s a good day when we get a new Call of Cthulhu with all of my dads here
These really are my favorite things to listen to in the morning when I get ready for work, LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO DAMN MUCH!! ❤

23:57 "Big Willie thinks it's more up Fanny's alley"
So happy to see to see old characters returning
Absolute banger cast on this one, can't wait :)
I love the Major! Lewis is really funny.
So excited! Terrific cast and the GM is always brilliant!
oh hell yeah, returning characters! i didn't think i could love this channel any more
I love how British all the characters are in this very American setting.
Not that unusual. The farther back in time you go, the more british the united states actually is.
Yay, I love Call of Cthulhu! Glad to see Archie, Fanny and Willy back as well.
Been so hyped up for more 1920's Call of Cthulhu! Excited to see how this goes. Your last one had me run Saturnine Chalice for my own group and they loved it! I'd really enjoy seeing you run another one of the Pulp modules
i love Call of Cuthulu so much, keep doing this please!
The professor was giving that door the ol’ Sign of Kisk.
A great podcast.
Fucking love listening to you lads, that first dnd game you guys hosted has always been a favourite of mine.

LOVED this episodes intro, tom can we get a full plumber-elemental campaign
I'm not into watching tabletop role-playing, but this channel is making it fun to watch...
Kudos!
Call of cthulu with tom as DM and LEW LEW back oooooh baby *chef's kiss*
Ooh heck yes, I love it when Tom runs Call of Cthulhu because it's often scenarios I've done myself and I'm very keen to see how he handles Edge of Darkness!
really happy to see CoC back and such a good crew too. I had been hoping for another spooky setting for a while and can't wait to see where this goes!
More returning characters, more mystery quest, more things to make my week better!
I was wondering if we’d see another Call of Cthulhu this week! Great lineup as always!
Its always a great day at work when I have a new Mystery Quest to listen to. Please keep up the great work guys ❤️
TOM B IS BACK BABY🎉
You cheeky dogs! The Major is Smyth? As in Simons character Perry Smyth? Can't wait for them to be in a session together!
The major and the miner, lmao
wonderful start...smilied all the way though...majors speech and dice roll was amazing...and then willy opened his mouth...! laughed so much, thank you
ooo im so excited for this one, this is the only one i ever DMd for so im looking foward to see how tom goes about it
Can't wait for next week! Love everything on the channel, but nothing beats Call of Cthulhu for me :)
Yes! I've been waiting for another cuthulu mystery quest, and with Mr and Mrs Miggins at that!
Love the role play banter in this one 48:20
Love the returning characters and the new edition of the Major, can't wait for episode 2!!!
Man gotta say ravs american accent is this mix of super spot on then randomly super not accurate i love it
Another thrilling story with another all star team! I cannot wait to see what shenanigans you all manage to get yourselves into!
Loved this episode! What a great cast this time around. Looking forward to more
Just finished a cheeky little 10hr shift and this is gonna be the perfect way to unwind! Miggins supremacy!
Edge of darkness HELLL YEAHHHHHH amazing squad as well
Thanks for stopping to chat today at ukge! They say never meet your heroes... But you seemed pretty cool!
I ran this a little while ago! Super fun scenario, I'm really excited to see how it goes! :D
I love seeing these characters continue through the Cthulhu sessions.

OMG I love Edge Of Darkness!!! One of my favorite scenarios for COC, top five easily
Woop woop more Cthulhu to steal! And I did it lads I saw the actual Angory Tom today at the UK board game expo. He is such a tail man!
Loved the Campaign for North Africa reference.
Lil' Tommy Bates is back!
PUMP. THOSE. BRAKES!
I still want Lewis in Tales from the Loop, playing the wheelboi origin story.
44:00 oh god is Lewis' character some sort of Admiral Benson from Hot Shots?!
