    I have a nice warm hoodie that I needed a zipper for. I have been looking for a long time to find one. I picked up your kit from Amazon and watched your video. Then took about 5 minutes to repair the zipper. Thanks!

    Fantastic, I sew and zippers have been a bit of an issue for me, I'd just resort to replacing or using an alternative like snaps or Velcro, would have been my next thought. Thank you for teaching, something I did not know at all.

      Isn’t it amazing how easy they are to fix!? What amazes me is this is still not very common knowledge, hope that changes!

    Great to know you guys are out there helping people with zipper problems!
    Just wondering do you have the perfect zippers for my snugpak lonosphere bivi tent? The old ones need replacing! It has 2 zippers.
    I'd love to have some more for my mountain warehouse backpacker 2 man tent just in case!
    Very enjoyable video and nice to know about you guys!

    Thank you. This helped. I cut off the stopper at the top, its stitched back on. Little bit meh, but its functional again. (Sons favorite coat)

      Ah yes, being careful to remove the stops without cutting the fabric can be tricky. Working is better than not though!

    After replacing the slider in a closed-end zipper to a backpack, the zipper teeth still separate in places. The new slider works for a few inches and then reaches a spot where the teeth consistently separate after the zipper passes through. What could I be doing wrong? I can't visibly see problems with the teeth. (The original zipper is also YKK). Does this mean it's time to replace the entire zipper or retire the handbag?

    • @claymccabe7281
      @claymccabe7281 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Over the years, YKK has made slight changes to their designs and sometimes an old style isn't exactly the same as new ones.
      In your case it's REALLY close and you can pinch the back corners of the slider to tighten it on the coils. Don't over do it, fractions of a millimeter so just pinch a little with the slider on and see if that helps.
      Hopefully you emailed us for help, sorry for the delay, we hope this info helps others with this same issue.

      Make sure you are zipping up your jackets when you wash them! Very important because the machines can rip off the sliders.
      I'm sorry for the late response, we usually get help requests via the website and would have been happy to assist.
      Don't give up entirely on zipper repair it's usually successful and not very difficult!
