Just over a week ago I took my 2019 CB125F back to the Honda Dealer. Served me well with my 60 mile a day comute. Did not miss a beat but someing dramtic happened that forced me to take her back and hand over the keys. I PASSED MY TEST lol Finally picked up my , already paid for , 2022 CB500F, and god am I having fun 🙂 Wishing you well and happy travels on the new bike.
honesly kept mine its done 34k in 2 years took abuse been overloaded constant camping trips late oil changes been written off i dropped it twice these are 100 percent indestructible bought mine from new be keeping mine till its on its last legs
I've had my CB125f for a year, and it has been great. Took it on a couple of longer weekend riders last year and not a problem with it, it is a very forgiving bike for new riders. Great review as always and looking forward to seeing your next new bike.
Im gonna guess you're heading back to the CB500X or the new version of it. You've had them before and it sounds like the best fit for what you need it for.
I am in the same predicament, love my CB125F and done 8000 miles commuting since passing by CBT over 2 years ago and now full licence. I agree the only problem is that you need to plan your routes and fast roads are a bit of a struggle so i think my 125 will have to go. Still don't want anything too big (i now have other bikes for that) but do fancy the new Triumph 400!
I feel the same with some things to be fair. Only been on two wheels for 10 months, car for 11 years. Bought the 23 plate CBF125 brand new but my journey is all A Road which is 3 lanes both side 70mph speed limit with hills and I agree it's so frustrating to ride it to work to the point where I am starting to hate it. Everywhere else, commuting in town or in-roads is great and can't fault it.
Ok should I sell my car to fund a new bike I have the Honda cb500x and a Toyota 86 manual which I love near retirement live in Australia so should just cope with the brief cold spell and buy a second bike ?
Well you surprised me , do I like it not sure but I’m gonna test ride one . Mr Fish you’re saying it bounces around and you love it so I have a name for Your machine “ Bugsy “as in bugs Bunny . Cheers 🍻
I love my Honda cb500x 2019 model purchased 2020 don’t feel I could go for a smaller engine bike it’s probably a keeper does everything but I don’t do off road like you. Looking forward to the new bike reveal, you need a better commuter and the cub needs to be kept low mileage as it’s also a keeper for when you do decide to jack in the train driving and take up pizza delivery instead. Ha ha
Reckon you'll miss the huge tank range too mate, I get 350 miles per tank for about £15 on my 2 year old 9,000 miles example, great little bike IMO, My guess your new bike will be a CL500 scrambler
The last year and a bit I've been commuting on a Forza 125, I love it and wouldn't change it... It took me 20 years of commuting on big bikes to realise, I'm just wasting money and a 125 is just enough... I'll save my old fireblade for the weekend blast!
When there's an almost new 125 at a dealership with something like 30 miles on the clock, what's the likely story? Surely they didn't pass their full licence test with such little practice. Is the bike likely to be a 'lemon' or is it more likely that the rider changed his mind, couldn't get through the CBT or something like that?
I bet that rural commute is pretty nasty in the dark. How good is the headlight? My car has amazing led lights and makes the standard 60/55w bulb on my bike feel terrible!
Ive got a 71 Plate one of these too that unfortunatly ive got to sell due to back problems, any chance you could say roughtly what you got for it, mine only has just over 5k on it so not to different
It has been a good work horse, fully get the desire to move it on for something different though, and it'll hopefully mean we'll soo more of the cub as well 🙂 I'd really like to get down to owning just three bikes, I think I'd get more value from that as they'd all get used more, currently one of my bikes may as well be off the road, so it'd be good to find a Goldilocks bike that can do the job of two of them 🙂
how much did you get for it? I'm trying to sell mine as I passed my full test very quickly (first time) I'm looking for £2000 for my 2023 cb125f with a top box got it for 3k plus £200 for the top box. Be interesting what you think and if you have any tips on sellling a 125. :) Cheers Chris
I would guess a 24 Africa twin to replace Bambi and your current one. Potentially a 500 but then it would make little sense. But then bike purchases don’t always make sense to anyone other than the purchaser - ask me how I know lol
@@Mrfish2015 yeah. Well, as long as you think it helps. In reality all it does is make bikes look (sound) anti social. We now have parts of the alps that are closed to all bikes due to noise. Take that end can off and make it standard, so we can all ride. 👍😉
Im guessing that saving 10 mins by using the motorway is going to come at extreme cost. As you say ,first world problem, goes with all the social media..

Nice one , welcome to the slippery slope 😂
Omg that uv felt like going from asthmatic donkey to Arabian racehorse.

Honda NX 500? 😁😁😁
@@DaveDayve that's the one! 😁
Have to wait and see 😂
Nx500 is my first guess too
Oh, no... don't kill Bambi! 😮 I'm eager to see what you choose for your replacement commuter bike! 😉👍 --QM
Small bikes are good fun. Out here in Thailand, 125s are usually 150/155cc. The extra 25/30cc makes such a difference. Nick
I wish we had the 150s here
I rode a Honda XR150 around northern Vietnam. Fantastic little bikes.
@@dom24363 I'll bet. And I bet Vietnam was good fun.

Love the sound. It reminds me of my old Suzuki gsxs125 but I'm happy with my new cb750 hornet 😂
And so you should be 👍🏻
Sad to see it go! I got mine after watching your video .
Still a great bike ..
CB500x dude ? If so awesome bikes 😊😊 Pete
Good choice!
Sounds like a Triumph 400 scrambler is on the way.
Lol 🤔
Got rid of mine about two weeks ago. Sad times but onto bigger and better things for me now.
This is very sad to see you killing off Bambi but look forward to seeing your new steed when it comes.
Not killing , going to a new home 😂

Country lanes are where the fun’s at

Triumph 400 speed
def one of the cb500 range. maybe even the hornet as i think the cbx would be too similar (sort of) to the africa twin.
Triumph 400 scrambler would be my guess.

Yeah a blade is not the ideal commuter lol
New Himilayan? nah, too much in the mould of the CRF!
Do I smell a new Hornet 500 incoming?
Fish you’ve done a review on the xadv, great commuter bike, 70mpg, helmet goes under the seat. New bike ???
It is a great machine …
You’re definitely getting a 500 hornet I reckon. lol

Might be a demo .. ask the story

Headlight is led so not bad ..
Bye bye Bambi 👋
Sir what valve clearance this bike company recomended plz
? Check with the manuals
Hope you enjoy the Nx 500 😀👍

I can’t sorry .. look on auto trader see what they’re going for
I bet is the new bike is a Honda Transalp!
We need another usa road trip 💪
100%

@@Mrfish2015 I may have to bung the V7 back in the house soon if I don't get any interest in the advert
Maybe a summer buy

My tip would be if you don’t want to sell private , contact london dealers they shift loads of 125s so always on the lookout
See you Bambi 😊
🙂 Can't wait to see the replacement commuter motorcycle. 👌🤘👍
TRIUMPH SCRAMBLER 400X ???
CB300R 👍
I did like that bike ..
M1000RR with the carbon kit? Maybe not lol…. I know the X-ADV impressed you, a good option.
ADV350 👍
The most sensible two wheel machine on the planet.
i reckon the new 500 honda if not nc750 you do like dct 😉
I do like a dct that’s true 😊
If you're sticking to Hondas, my guess or vote goes to the NX500 for agility, else the NC750 DCT. Safe rides!
RE Hunter 350

Triumph 400 X ?
🤔
the noisey pipe defiantly didn't make any thing safer though...
I’m afraid I have to disagree with you on that , I can only go on my experience

Bambi is going 😢 I think you will be getting the new Honda NX500
🤔
The Honda forza 350 is the perfect commuter bike...

@@Mrfish2015 lacks wind protection for the winter.
Hornet ?
Wasps?

Of course I have to compromise somewhere , but it’s not solely for those 10 minutes 😂
Daw, no CBF challenge against the Zontes GK then 🤨
That was unlikely anyway lol
Honda NX??? 😁😁😁
🤔
Sell all your bikes (except the CRF 250) buy the new AT1100l ES and use it for everything 😊
🤔
god it would be so crazy if you just gave it to me for free 🙄 that would be so crazy
It would be lol
Triumph speed 400?
yeah in blue
Would be a great choice - but it's not a Honda. Will Mr Fish make the leap?
KTM 390 Adv
Replace it with a Honda CB300R.
