@Team Epiphany Tyler holy...you're lucky...here in europe getting the atpl is a pain in the ass thanks to the british examiners...the questions are just crazy. thank god i finished that part, only flying now
Hey Jeff, A&P Mechanic here. I’ve worked the 757 for roughly 6 years now and am also engine run and taxi qualified on it. I was also part of the passenger to freight conversion program for the FedEx 757’s. It neat to see a livery for a bird that I’ve actually laid my hands on even though the real life counter part doesn’t have winglets and is RB211 powered. Either way love the videos. Just think it’s cool to see the livery of a bird I’ve had the pleasure to work on.
pretty lame that cool and interesting comments like yours get so little attention and the top comments are always something like “lol can you teach me how to drive a plane” instead
Jeff I love all of your videos and I’m trying to either be a pilot or an atc and you do both of them so that’s why I love you. And that Dubai tower 3D pro video you did yesterday was really good and I just want to say thank you for great content so I can be happy 😊
Bailey Hall well I’m actually from right over the bridge in Arkansas, but I’m going to college in Memphis and it’s basically always been “the city” to me lol.
It’s all a familiarization thing if you ask me. Once you learn and analyze all of the different parts of the cockpit systems, everything starts to make sense.
Jeff, I have been watching since your GTA 4 days and I’m glad your still here making fantastic content and have expanded to a broader spectrum of content which I enjoy from ATS to X-Plane. Thank you for such great content and I hope to see more in future.
Really well done video; one note on the approach. If you notice the altitude mode FMA on the PFD never captured the G/S. G/S was in standby, but since 3,000 was set in the altitude window, it leveled you off at that altitude in altitude hold mode. You were so close to G/S capture! One technique that will work when trying to capture G/S from above path is to set DH/approach minimum into the altitude window with a safe V/S (usually 1500 FPM will work). Then, the airplane will catch the G/S from above and G/S will go from standby in the FMA to captured. Once approach mode is captured, you can spin the altitude window up to your missed approach altitude. All good man, small thing but wanted to pass it along!
IMHO the plane didn't follow the G/S because, you have to capture the localizer first and then you have to intercept the G/S from below. It won't capture it, when the deviation above it is too high. At 33:38 you captured the LOC but you can clearly see, that you are above the G/S with an indicated vertical deviation of 1 or more (the small pink diamond on the right of the pfd) - and you kept being at this state until 37:06 - there the diamond is between track and the first deviation marker - then G/S got active :-)
You need K-loaders on the lower right side cargo compartments, the baggage conveyer trucks are only for the AFT bulk bin. Sorry, flew as a Loadmaster on MD-11F/ 747 BCFs on a FedEx contract. 😁😎 Great videos!! Love your work, both present and past, on all channels!!
you landed like real pilots there, anyways the approach was messy coz you captured the selected altitude before the glideslope , if this happens in the future , just lower the altitude again before seeing ALT HOLD on the FMA
Awesome video! Was wondering if you have looked into the new Microsoft Flight Simulator game and your thoughts on it. And if we will be seeing videos of it when it releases next year. 😬😬😬
Seeing all of those dials, screens, and switches made me lose my mind! Is there anyway you could someday show all of us close-ups of some of the instrument clusters inside at least a flight-sim cockpit? Whenever you would look up to the ceiling or start turning dials, I’d hear clicks and you talking, but no matter how much I looked, I could never find what you were actually doing
If you take a look at the chart you are supposed to cross NESBT at 3,000 (you crossed at 5,000) this would have you a little bit below G/S so you can capture it and fly it down. Your autopilot never captured the G/S because you were above it the whole way. Then going down in V/S mode you had altitude select at 3,000 so once you reached that height the plane leveled off, getting you further away from the G/S
Don’t know if you already know this or it’s already been said, but the majority of the time ATC will give a 30° intercept onto final approach course when on VTF (about half way between the IAF and FAF, traffic permitting) :) new sub here, great stuff keep it up!!
Not sure if there’s a add on mod already, but it’d be cool to have a hurricane tracker plane to go through an established storm and deal with the challenges of doing same.
Quick question here... I've never properly played a flight sim, but with the new Flight Simulator coming up from Microsoft I can officially say that I'm hyped. Is there any particular channel that you can point me toward to..... Assist in my learning to fly? Specifically the bigger planes, as those have the steepest learning curve. Thank you in any case :)
"pal number" = number of pallets. You can also see the 11 green spaces for those 11 pallets. The cargo weight refers to the weight of each pallet, hence why it multiplies that by the number of pallets.
But nothing beats those taking off after C check from where I used to work. A quiet airfield with usually no other big jets going in and out at the same time. VQQ.
How come we are not hearing any tower/ATC communications during these flights? Is it not featured in X Plane 11? I would be nervous flying in cloud around busy intersections without ATC warnings. Assume TCAS is modelled in this plane though?
I am looking to get into Flight Siming. Do any of you have any recommendations of what type of equipment to start with? I have been Sim Racing on iRacing for several years, have the PC to push high end triple monitor display setups, just looking to get some Flight gear. Preferably looking for something on the Mid to High end. I just don't want something cheap that won't last or feel like plastic toys. Any recommendations I would really appreciate! Thanks in advance!
I was so sad because I have to go to my Aunt's funeral, but when I saw you made a video it made me just a little more happy. Thanks Jeff!
Sorry to hear that man, I send my condolences
Aww. I will pray for her.
Sorry for your loss man I’m praying for you
Press F to pay respects

Jeff been subscribed since 2013. Just wanna say I really used to enjoy your fly with me series. Now I'm in flight school working on my ATPL Cheers
Awesome man keep going!
same here ! ^^ clear skies bro!

@Team Epiphany Tyler Same here man!!
you are clear for takeoff
You should do a flight that has an in-flight emergency
I believe he did an engine fire on a 727 in X plane 10 a few years back
This is my favorite airliner in XP. Thanks for the XP vids Jeff. Love your content mate!
I’ve been really enjoying these X-Plane videos lately. I flew on a plane for the first time a few weeks ago and now I just find them so interesting!

fedex into memphis is such a classic how can you not love it
"Who" or how?
It makes sense, FedEx's world hub is located in Memphis

that TO/GA power sound awesome
Great heat wave effect from the engines. Looks very realistic. Something that FSX is certainly missing.

Great landing with that cross wind!
Such a beautiful aircraft, I didn't choose that call sign for nothing! Great video Jeff, keep up the great work!
i’m liking these X-Planes back to back videos! Keep it up!
Would love to see a UPS plane flown and also I’m a native of Memphis!

AWESOME! Is this default sound?
901 crew ayyy!!!!
will you do a flight from KMSP to KMSO on xplane 11 jeff i really enjoy your flight videos
When you start auto pilot you should do a replay of the takeoff so we can see dem landing gears come in.
that 99% of the time crashes the sim, not sure why

You should do CLT to DCA and do the river visual runway 19 into DCA. That’d be really interesting! Thanks!
Please do a ga flight, like the tbm 900 from hot start

Mike P if you have a flight sim thats the best to learn hands on unless your a real pilot. Google Flight Factor 757 cold dark startup tutorial

You should leave from Fort Worth Alliance Airport with an A300 to San Jose. There is a big sorting center for fedex there

The speed brakes going up (spoilers)

The feeling of speed for your takeoff was so slow. Like it seemed you were going less that 100 knots. Maybe 60
Did you encounter any UFO's during your flight?
