Listening to it firing up was awesome. I got the chance to ride in a Huey that saw combat in Vietnam. Fun times. Just for this alone I could see myself getting into flightsim. That's a pretty cool setup you have.
*Fortunate Son begins playing in the distance*
Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam logo starts floating in the middle of the screen😂
Yes agree
“I aint the fortunate one”
Brings back the Nam memories
The sound of the Rotor chop brings back memories of being Active duty Marines in the early 80's
Any vids with a AH-1 Cobra ????
Ya know ive been watching your videos since i was in middle school. You are like a part of my life. Its truly crazy to think. Back then i was a quiet kid and i had nothing going for me. I was involved in things i cant even believe i was involved in. Now im a us marine on Camp Lejeune. I am a machine gunner with 3-2 weapons platoon. Im in a caat. Combined anti armor team. Thank you for always being an influence. Good luck and stay positive 💪
Dude that is amazing to hear, keep kicking ass brother!
Damn that huey sound ORGASMIC
Love the vids. I'm in school rn, but I'm never too busy for an X-Plane video!👍
StevenPlayz Games same bro
School first, games later
I like how The heli is slowly moving for like 5 min in the beginning
The sound of the UH-1 is music to my ears.... best aircraft I've flown in my military career.
There is nothing that you can't fly and that sound is awesome! Great flight!
Some nice flying there, Mr F! Those landings were satisfying to watch.
I love seeing you fly the Huey. Dad served In the army .He had to ride on one of those for a Mission.
Finally getting around to watching this. Looks a lot like DCS's Huey, very impressed!
I love these helicopters so much restored one for an eagle project in Scouts and was the best experience to bring it back into operation!
Was gonna say the same thing Fortunate Son of Ride or the valkyries song playing lol. Didn't know X Plane had Helicopters in it. Big fan of them. Great job piloting it with the gap of knowledge you said you had Jeff (Although I didn't notice anything lol). Appreciate you showcasing this as this is one of my Favorite Helicopter as well. Top 3 for sure!
Awesome to see you land in good ol' Cahokia at the downtown airport, my home town. Small world, never thought I would see it in a video from one of the TH-camrs I watch. Keep up the good work Jeff!
Dang that's an absolutely awesome helicopter nice flight Jeff
Thank you for this. I love when you show the usage of gaming peripherals on different games. I know what to get when I get some money.
Placer county Fire has a UH-1 retrofitted with water dropping equipment. The blade chop can be heard for miles. Helo's are extremely difficult to fly good job Jeff !
compared to planes, I think they're harder to land
I had no clue they hovered taxied. Great video Jeff👍🏼
I've flown the DCS World Huey in the Oculus and it is so much easier in VR. You can judge the height so much better and you feel like you're actually in a Huey.
Great vid der bud
Im a fan from Germany. Nice Vids keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻
This was one of the coolest X-plane videos I have watched. Thanks for the share!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm so glad I found your channel and videos! I've spent my whole weekend watching you play ATS and X plane 11, love all your content man! Can't wait to play myself when I get a gaming computer sorted! Can't wait for more content 👍😁
That heli is a beaut. 😍
Flying a helo in X-Plane is ridiculously difficult. Kudos.
ive never heard of the real thing being easy so maybe they got it right.
It's not that bad with proper controls setup like Jeff has tbh. It's awful with kb+mouse for sure or even just a joystick is hard.
Nah, not hard to fly at all if you know what you are doing, and have a descent setup. Rudder pedals are a must, as a twist grip will just strain your wrist after a while. If you want to fly helos though that handle like the real thing, go to DCS World. The Belsimtek Huey performs like the real thing. I know because I worked on them in the Army. Happy Flying.
@@ImpendingJoker you worked on them so now you know how they perform? I guess that means since I was a crew chief I know how the c130 feels to fly. Someone wanted to brag lol
@@deaf2819 no, he's just giving you a reliable source so you can trust his word.
How is this compared to the DCS Huey? I love the DCS one because of the feel, the shaking, the mass/inertia. Does this compare or is it just "different"?
PS. I would recommend to invert the collective. It's more intuitive that way.
I haven't flown the huey in DCS in a while but this seems more challenging for sure.
Just from watching this video, and his comments, and having spent many hours with the DCS Huey, and haven worked on the Huey in the US Army for a number of years, I can tell you that the DCS Huey is about as close to the real thing as you will get.
@@jfavignano More challenging doesn't mean more accurate. As one that has spent many years working on Hueys in the Army, I can tell you the DCS Huey is spot on.
FUCK DCS...xp11 is the whole planet...fuck everything else
@@PeanutJaxs This is about how this particular aircraft flies vs the DCS World Huey. Nothing about the environment was brought up,but with that said, how are those XPlane seasons and ATC working out for you? DCS has both. Also, what are you going to cry about when the new Microsoft Flight Simulator comes out next and and totally spanks XPlane? You are a sad bitter little person with nothing to contribute to live in general and this conversation in particular.
My father used to fly these back in Vietnam. 70-71, 240th AHC Greyhound/Kennel Keeper 13
You can usually fix the jittering by increasing your models per frame slider in the xplane settings menu. It's an issue with the skid friction coefficient. Hope that helps.
Love these. I’ve flown in a couple when I was in the USAF. This and the Blackhawk. Good memories.
Jeff is my fevorite,,you are perfect Jeff, keep up with the great work.
Last month I had the chance to sit inside a fully preserved UH-1 and got to move the collective and cyclic it was a pretty cool experience
You Should definitely try Bell 412 from X-Trident. Been out for few years but still the best in my opinion. With autopilot, Flir camera, cargo lifting and stuff. Could do some Roleplay SAR mission video maybe? ;)
Such a beautiful bird she is
Look at that mast bump past 100 knots. The engineers are going to be having cross words I think! Does look and sound amazing!
What a nice setup to play with Jeff! Super jealous of all your Thrustmaster kit haha
If you have not already raise the Flight Models Per Second in the general settings tab within xplane, that fixes it for me. Great Video Jeff
Gahhh, now I have to go add another thing to learn to my X-plane list.. LOL, loved it bud! Gives me the goosebumps hearing the sound pack on this thing.
I never realized until 2 years ago that helicopters had to hover taxi to and from runways. One of my cousins works at a small airport on Long Island and I was just hanging out with him one day on a visit and got to see quite a few helo's in action. Also got to look inside one that I was told cost $34M. Takes 2 pilots to fly and looked like a small airplane inside.
When you love a video and wish you can hit more than just one thumbs up! Love the videoiconic helicopter and one of my favorites keep them coming Jeff! Great job on flying by the way!
Just got it a couple days ago, learning alot and loving it so far !
Love the the helicopter model! I would love to see more helicopters if they are as good as this one; like a Hughes/MD 500 or a UH60 Blackhawk.
Thats one of the heli`s my dad was specialized in when he was in RNoAF before he retired, that and BELL 412 and Bell 212. How have i not noticed this video lol..
Hey Jeff what a great helicopter you got
This video felt soothing to me .... I dont know why
I guess cuz u are a good pilot
Knew you would get this baby. My friend painted this in ft. Ruker colors
That's really cool how the helicopter shakes when you're in flight
Love it. Is that KSTL? Is so where did you get airport scenery? It’s my home and I have been looking forever.
Looks to be converted scenery from Taxi2Gate in fsx
Finally X-plane
Great video jeff the huey is also my favorite hellicopter
Man I appreciate that stickcam. Thank you so much.
Hey Jeff great video man!! Maybe a rudder pedal cam next time? Would have been interesting to watch you’re feet working those dope pedals. They look super solid. Really enjoyed this, more helicopters please!
Wow a army helicopter video and in the middle of it is a military base advertisement
I really thought I was the only one who loves the UH-1
The Huey is probably the most iconic helicopter. What made you think that you’re the only one?
if you was the vc you goose way cooked and you was save for the u.s.a
@@DerWeisskunig most people never show love for it tho..
@@voldo18 Nono, haha. We "all" love him!
But also the cute BO 105, or?
The new Microsoft flight sim is going to be fantastic for sure. It looks awesome. It will be so nice toi have such realism in the scenery
Helo sounds amazing. Great vid brother.
Y'all have a blessed day
Nice video buddy
Interesting that it has a rotor brake. I’ve done some research on the web, and the only UH-1H configuration I’ve been able to find with a rotor brake is the USMC variant. The USMC specified the rotor brake to stop the rotors quickly for shipboard use. I haven’t been able to find any reference to U.S. Army -1H configurations with a rotor brake, although I think an earlier Army variant did have a rotor brake, but it wasn’t a UH-1H.
You really got to get back into DCS
Good flying Jeff.
Thank you Michael
Morning Jeff, have you ever thought of making licence of all the kinda games you play? Coz I think you pretty much good at everything
*ride of the valkyries Intensifies*
I have ridden in a uh1h here in Vegas when I was with the volunteer search and rescue with Metropolitan police dept it is loud as f word inside even with doors closed that's due to no insulation inside and we communicated by pushing the speak button on the communications chord we plugged into I operated the hoist as well as did repelling out of one which is also fun 50 ft off the deck
very cool jeff… My pap worked on those in Vietnam during the war
Jeff, if you turn up your aircraft flight model to 3-5 updates per frame, it might stop the skid jumping. The 412 had that issue on my computer
There is a 'bug' with skids in xplane 11 that causes you skitter about like that. The normal workaround is to increase your simulation rate until it goes away or is more manageable.
Love your videos and would like to see some more bus sim 18 and tower 3dpro
i have the huey for DCS but i might actually buy this it looks amazing!!
AYYE I wanted the yoke view back! Lit 🔥
i love the moving helicopter on the ground
Waiting for the "A-Team" theme to kick in!
Would you ever consider making another DCS video?
as all ways love that vid,,, love ya bro and keep being you
The reason for the distinctive Huey sound is due to the two Massive rotors they have. You can hear a Huey coming from miles away just by those blades Chopping the air. Once they went to 4 rotors then the distinctive Huey sound went away...
You woke me up
Gooooood morning Vietnam!
Jeff can we still use the yolk or do we need a joy stick
More night flights please
Did you manage to catch a ride on the one at Sun N Fun?
Beautiful jeff
I believe Downtown Airport is in Illinois, I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it is.
yep
Hey Jeff! Can you do a flyover of dubuque iowa once?? I live there and would love to see it.
I'm trying to figure out why the helicopter, when it goes into a slight stress, has a beating sound that increases. Can anyone enlighten me? 16:43 for an example.
Edit: I found out. It's called "Blade Slap"
hey jeff you should turn your flight model up to stop the jittering for helicopter i usually have it on 10
I love the smell of fps in the morning
I wonder what belsimtek's excuse is for not remastering their 9y/o Huey in DCS. What great visual fidelity in comparison.
You haven't made a video on fs2020 in a while do you like what they have shown so far
Where is this? Beautiful scenery
Damn that red beacon looks so good, wish more games could do realistic halogen lights. Would love to see GTA do them right like this game
thank you for flying out St. Louis Lambert I am form St. Louis
i love the look and sound but its moving so choppy and bumpy
is that how its meant to fly ?
He's flying too fast. When helicopters get close to their maximum speeds, there is a lot of vibration as part of the rotor disk starts to stall. If left uncorrected, this will develop into a retreating blade stall and the helicopter will pitch up and roll to the left. Every helicopter is comfortable at a different speed. I'm not sure about the Huey, but my guess would be about 100-110 kts as a cruise speed. Flying much faster risks excess wear and tear and if there is strong turbulence, retreating blade stall can happen at much lower speeds than the roughly 120 kt max speed.
Hey don’t forget about the DCS F18.... I missed watching your DCS videos so I have to resort to Grim Reapers, Growing Side winder, and Sting TV for DCS content and will continue to watch them even if you do some more DCS... you should try dogfighting in DCS some time with the Thrustmaster Warthog F18 Stick extension.
H1-UH _"Huey"_ is my favorite, too!
If you are trying to show where the "Huey" name derives from it was from the early nomenclature of HU-1, and it was called the "Iroquois".
@@ImpendingJoker - Yeah, dyslexia and forgetfulness; never have served me well - and, I had forgotten about "Iroquois". FTR, I wasn't trying to show anything more than my _"Huey"_ exuberance and, my appreciation for this content. That said, I appreciate your interaction and, corrections - Thanks sincerely and, cheers- (+1)
What Lambert scenery is that?
"Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue..."
Mikhail Siniawski and when the band plays hail to the chief
Ooh they point the cannon at you lord
Crispy Tendies It ain’t me! It ain’t me! I ain’t no senators son son
It aint me, it aint me, i aint no fortunate one, no.
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord dont they help themselves oh
Fortunate Son anybody?
Great sim. Very realistic except the UH-1 did not have a rotor brake. Good video...
If you want to have fun doing a hammer head stall in a helicopter try it in a md500E or Hughes 500 D or C a little quicker than the slick aka uh1h
Me: watching the helicopter slowly get pushed off the taxiway
Hi Jeff can you please do airforce one
Love how you rep st.louis so well! Go st.louisans!!!!! Lol
