My opinion on the two, if you are going to do more 2up riding, RG is going to be nicer for your passenger. If you’re mostly a single rider, the softail platform is going to be perfect for most riders.
Currently on a 23 RG and Ive been looking for the past few months about going smaller. Ive had a 04 Low Rider and loved it. Thinking really hard about going back. Your bike is very nice.
It’s all personal preference. I love my 24 Road Glide and the price is only about a $2,000 difference. A lot more bike for the price difference in my opinion.
Exactly. Just depends on what you want. I love my lowrider st but I haven’t been on more than a 3 hour trip with it. I like it because I can scrape pegs around town and also be pretty comfortable on longer trips but if you’re crushing miles or just like a more plush ride, a big bagger is where it’s at
I had a Street Glide and it was comfy but not fun. Now I have a Sport Glide and I'm loving it. It's so much fun but still comfy and I don't get bucked out of the seat when I hit bumps anymore!
I like the idea of the Low Rider ST. Very day to day capable, but if you wanna tour the option is there. The Touring bikes just seem to big. Would I want to pull that out for just a casual ride? I wish I could fit on that Low Rider ST.
Big reason I went with my Road King Special. Lighter, no fairing, fancy touchscreen, easier to maneuver and has the classic beauty of a Harley. Can't go wrong with it. But it is still heavy, just not AS heavy. 👍🏻👍🏻
The lowrider s for me at 54 years old is the bike I've always wanted. I traded it in my Street glide 2007 that I really liked but I didn't have the money to tour anymore and I just wanted something that was powerful easy to control not lugging around a big Cadillac boat. I thought about the lowrider after a few years ago when I test rode it. I kept thinking about it at different times later and it up took me three trees at the dealership to get the financing and the right deal that works for me the rest is history. By the way thanks for your answering on Instagram about the lepera seat. I did get one made for me from lepera and I love it.
I picked up a 21st I loved it. Put some work, actually lots. I was 61when I picked her up. I ride 8 hrs at a clip and couldn’t do it on that bike. 40yrs of construction didn’t help. I went back to a bagger. 22 street glide st. I beyond love it on highway and off. I’ll be retiring in 4 months I’m gunna hopefully buy a breakout or another lowrider st for close on rides. Enjoy the bike bro. Oh! I’m a midget..only 5’6 on a really good day.
I had a dyna years ago that was built to the 9’s and I traded it in on a new road glide at the time. It was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made when it came to motorcycles. For me the road glide was too lazy in the handling department and that was after the bars were changed out the suspension was upgraded to Ohlins. The bike was just boring. And back in those days ( I was 32 or 33) I only had one bike and I wanted a fun bike again. So I traded it in on a Triumph Speed Triple. I have had several bikes since then and I am currently on a Low Rider ST among some other bikes and I couldn’t be happier.
Absolutely! Love my ST as well, it’s a great bike. Cheaper than a bagger, but still got the fairing and bags. I love the middleweight cruisers that are built up like that. I think my next bike will be a fun project, I want to get an Indian Chief and fit an FXR fairing to it with bags as well. Haven’t seen too many people try that out so I want to give it a shot and see how she turns out
I got the FXLRST in white. My wife calls it the storm trooper and now I can’t unsee it lol! I sold my Goldwing after I got my Low Rider ST. It just felt like a much better ride than the Goldwing. Especially the suspension. It was a lot lighter too. The only thing I don’t like are the hardbags. I switched those out for Leather Pros because I commute with my bike and I need room for my daily stuff
Im 57, traded my Dyna for a 23 Road Glide 107 and kept my 22 Fat Bob for day commutes to work…my opinion soft tails are good for commutes not long haul trips keep RG and get a Dyna. you’ll never regret it. they all heavy
As a owner of a 2019 EGS and my first bike , I have grown with the heavier no music Bagger with no bells & whistles , as time has gone on it has had a few additives to enhance my riding , when the time comes and I can't deal the weight then that's when I would decide to check out the Low rider S , Ride safe June all the best to you .
Got the ST the moment it came out while lurking here watching your S videos! Debated if I made the right choice all of 23' seeing all the performance bagger stuff pop off... But I'm happy with where I'm at and with the upgrades I've done. ☮
just gone the other way traded my 24 FXLRST in for a Road Glide ST Fast Johnnie edition - better wind protection and tech on Road glide , Lowrider is much easier to live with as a daily ride for someone my size 5'10 160Lbs . Lowrider has better suspension but to get perfect fit takes changing more - Bars /risers /seat /Screen / pegs lots of owners on FXLRST facebook group whether 5'7 , 6'4 or in between mention bike awkward fit - only feel i have to change bars and likely risers on Road glide - the foot controls seem bit far forward and at times the heavy breather can hit leg when braking on road glide but they are a bit more liveable with. feel Harley should do a CVO spec FXLRST ultimately you can just like both bikes for different reasons and be cool with it
Low Rider has been my dream bike since the Dyna days, every new model that comes out I feel they keep improving it, Low Rider ST is exactly what I would've done to a Low Rider S if I would've gotten one. Can't wait to move to a warmer climate and be able to ride year round. Can't fadem buying a bike and having it on a garage for 6 months of the year. That finish looks like a 1950s Stratocaster, wouldn't be my choice but I get it.
I’ve had Dynas, Softails, have a 93 FXRS now and I can say there is no world where any of those bikes are on the same level as a modern bagger. Just my opinion. I can get on my street glide and ride all the way across the country. I commute daily and rarely find myself on the FXR
The only thing that the road glide gets that I’m jealous of is just the hud with navi etc but in all honesty once you get a proper phone mount it really doesn’t matter
I'm in my 50s and I just don't need a bike with an infotainment system. I love my '23 FXLRS and my '06 YZFR1. I never ever had a need for a motorcycle with a sound system(personally disdain bikes with speakers). I considered the FXLRST but the bags were the 1st things I'd get rid of and couldn't see spending the extra $4k+ on the ST. I make my FXLRS what I want it to be by adding things...didn't feel like buying a bike that I would remove things....the ST.
I just turned 62. I ride a full performance bagger. Road Glide special. As it sits it is significantly lighter than when I bought it. But whatever weight it is, is a nonissue unless I’m picking it up off of the ground. Which I try not to do as much as possible. But Ive never been intimidated by its size or weight. I might consider a low rider as a second bike but it wouldn’t be my only bike if I could only have one.
I got a dyna, a 2018 softail lowrider (the regular lowrider not the lowrider s) and i bought a 2020 sportster iron 1200 brand new in 2020. The sales ppl kept askin why i wanna downgrade instead of go bagger. I was like look i like what i like and want. Im with you i like what i choose and dont need validation. I did a stage 2 on the sporty and a few other upgrades and i find its.my go to bike alot over my bigger . I feel ya on ppl who dont agree with your choice
Depends on riding style , if never do long distance traveling and only around the town riding then the softail would be the choice . Best case scenario if you can have 2 bikes .
Marvel I traded in my RG for the tobacco fade I've been into and followed the low ST since its release and all the things you mentioned love the power to weight ratio having a blast on the bike. Just got bored with the bagger I guess even with a stage 2 still a little clunky and slow
The paint work is really nice. I have a 2023 fxlrs in white sand pearl… and was thinking about using the white sand pearl as a primary color to do a tobacco fade around. What do u think about that?
Irrespective of the marketing names and terminology, Harley currently offers 2 very good 'sports tourers': the LRST and the Pan America. Both bikes can tear up the long miles with relative comfort, ride and feel sportier and are lighter than the heavier baggers. Not only that, the saddlebags can be easily removed for that sleek boulevard cruise. And BTW, there is no need to swap out the electronic suspension on the Pan America, it's top of the line.
Would you still go with the Low Rider ST over a 24 Road Glide? I can’t decide which to go with. First Harley, but long time rider. Wife will want to ride with me, so it’s gotta be comfortable for her. Are far as long trips, they would only be next state over distances. Thanks in advance for the advice!
The lighter tourer is a great idea, and the styling of the Low Rider ST is very nice. The deal breaker for me is the engine. I had a Softail Low Rider S and I hated it, the engine I mean. I like the rubber mounted engine so my only choices are the Street Glide (my current bike!), Road Glide and the Road King.
I have a 13 streetbob and I want to upgrade to a road glide . But the other side of me love the look of the lrst . But it’s basically the same bike as my bob . So I don’t know .
I bought a 24 Road Glide. I did not ride the ST, I was going to, sat on n the bike and the fairing felt cheap compared to the RG. So I just said pass. I’m sure I would have loved riding it.
I am 58. Been riding for a while. Currently riding a 22 Road Glide ST. Been thinking about a 24 CVO ST. But I really like the Low Rider ST. I do ride 2 up probably 30% of the time. How do you think the Low Rider would be for 2 up, and how good is the wind protection on the highway at 80 mph plus?
As a new rider as of April this year, I bought a 24 low rider st for my 1st bike. And as you star wars is everything so custom boba fett plates, yup! Anyways I am happy I bit the bullet and grew into the bike never regretted my decision. My riding buddies are all on baggers and they call it the mini glide. So this is just my opinion but I had a Electra glide ultra classic and it's a different feeling when you are younger kinda feels like retirement to me like it's perfect and a great bike but I have a dyna Lowrider now and it's more raw more visceral if it makes any sense
I did the opposite, it was just not the right bike for Touring and a daily bike to ride to work. I ride 7days a week in Cali. I just wanted a heavier bike, a more stable planted bike with more space and an infotainment system. I did 23k last year lol. The ST would have been a great bike for me if I was in my 20s or 30s it’s just a different demographic of rider in my opinion.
I went from a Streetglide to a 2023 ST ,the ST is a great bike but no comparison to a bagger , I went back to a 2024 Streetglide , I know 4 people who went back to a Roadglide or Streetglide , IMO not worth going from a bagger to a ST,. both cool bikes but very different ,
I fear the 50+ will eventually go back to the SG or RG … I did and I’m only 5’6… it was a thrill having the coolest bike (el Diablo in my case) but man when I hopped on the SG, the comfort level is A+ for me to do long riddin days.
Yes I believe it was a down grade. No ride mode's, radio, navigation, Softail suspension...before you get salty you have an amazing bike. Road Glide ST...yes..that would of been an update
I am pretty long legged for my height. That bike seems like the controls would cause me to cramp up. What options would I have? I presently ride a 2017 Streetglide Special.
It’s a downgrade if you want to crush lots and lots of miles. Can you do it on the softail? Sure. Will it ever be as comfortable and easy? No. It all depends on how you ride. That bike shines in certain areas the touring bikes do not, and vice versa.
Glad you love your bike but as far as touring you're like 5 foot 6 so yea you can go long on it but not the average person. As far as cost you paid 25 grand plus for yours I paid 26 for my 2024 RG. THE 117 IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE STOCK 114. And now we can bui.ld them so it's not even close. But hey to each his own so let ride
Beautiful bike, but I can never imagine trading my 24 street glide for a low rider. Now I wouldn’t mind owning both? But one for the other? Lose the big screen, radio, bigger bags, better comfort better display? Nope. Not me buddy, sorry.
I’d say you never ridden one. It just preference. You want to be pushing a cow all day or a baby goat. It’s very agile compared to a big bagger. Has the power and the bags. It’s sport bagger. Best of both worlds. Dont hate
Im done with Starbucks coffee it’s so expensive and the lines are ridiculous. 711 had pretty good coffee for half the price plus candy and cigarets 🤷🏽♂️ you can’t beat that
Your bike is beautiful but I could never go from my RG to a LR ST. It feels too small for me. My boy got a custom spoiler made for his LRST and it looks sick.
I went from a 13 streetglide to a 2023 heritage. I love the heritage. No regrets.
It’s all personal preference. I love my 24 Road Glide and the price is only about a $2,000 difference. A lot more bike for the price difference in my opinion.

I like it because I can scrape pegs around town and also be pretty comfortable on longer trips but if you’re crushing miles or just like a more plush ride, a big bagger is where it’s at
Absolutely! I came from a Street Bob and wanted comfort. Ha!
Agree 100%…Have a LowRider ST too and for me, it’s perfect.
Really enjoy your channel have gotten a lot of great information over the years
Glad to hear it!
I had a Street Glide and it was comfy but not fun. Now I have a Sport Glide and I'm loving it. It's so much fun but still comfy and I don't get bucked out of the seat when I hit bumps anymore!

Very happy with my 23 rgs. Had a streetbob for 2 months after having a street glide. Just like the bigger bike. To each his own.

Depends on riding style , if never do long distance traveling and only around the town riding then the softail would be the choice . Best case scenario if you can have 2 bikes .
Why would u let go of the music , Navi and the cool look of a road glide and if ur above 5-8 in height u need the road glide
Love the LR ST but the bags are the only downside. Size and opening.
Marvel I traded in my RG for the tobacco fade I've been into and followed the low ST since its release and all the things you mentioned love the power to weight ratio having a blast on the bike. Just got bored with the bagger I guess even with a stage 2 still a little clunky and slow

I think that’ll look cool man
I think the 2024 RG and SG have increased the gap with the LRST but the wight argument is still valid.
I got a 20 street bob, first Harley. Looking into the street glide, but man I always digged the st
Irrespective of the marketing names and terminology, Harley currently offers 2 very good 'sports tourers': the LRST and the Pan America. Wilbur’s? 😂😂😂😂. Loved your RG. Not a fan of small bikes. Never have been. But you make it look good.
What was your otd? I want one bad and am going to look at one this weekend.
You just keep driving that stake further for me man. Prolly just a matter of time till I get one.
I have the exact same bike and I love it!!
The lighter tourer is a great idea, and the styling of the Low Rider ST is very nice. The deal breaker for me is the engine. I had a Softail Low Rider S and I hated it, the engine I mean. What’s wrong with the 117?!
@@Rambiker2023chief I just prefer the feel of rubber mounted engine. The softail engine doesn't vibrate at idle, but it does to me, when cruising
@@bobby2b2 that makes a lot of sense. Car engines have rubber mounts for that reason. Some vibration is nice but not constantly. I get it

I think the FXLRS/FXLRST needs better tech to stay competitive right noe
As a new rider as of April this year, I bought a 24 low rider st for my 1st bike. And as you star wars is everything so custom boba fett plates, yup! Anyways I am happy I bit the bullet and grew into the bike never regretted my decision. My riding buddies are all on baggers and they call it the mini glide. Love the st and don't plan on getting rid of it. Just maybe adding a chopper to the collection one day. 31 years old in the homeland of harley for reference.
If you like it, that's all that counts. I like it smaller
HD needed Lowrider blogger and gave it in good price. It is not a secret that HD has that strategy . It is good bike
For me it would be a major downgrade from my 24 RG. But you ride what you want to ride. If you are happy with it then it’s good for you
Missed opportunity to add some "gloveboxes" in the sides of the fairing.
I went from a Streetglide to a 2023 ST ,the ST is a great bike but no comparison to a bagger , I went back to a 2024 Streetglide , I know 4 people who went back to a Roadglide or Streetglide , IMO not worth going from a bagger to a ST,. both cool bikes but very different ,
I am actually considering one as well coming from a BMW R 18 bagger

No, thank you!

Do streamers usually switch to km/h to make it seem like they're going faster?

Honestly For taller riders it can be uncomfortable but you can do forward controls. This is my take on my situation and journey.
Does it makes huge difference between stage 2 and 3 on lowrider s
58… So I guess that’s old, RG and LRS w/RWarrior bc I have cash and priorities.
It’s a downgrade if you want to crush lots and lots of miles. Can you do it on the softail? Sure. Will it ever be as comfortable and easy? No. It all depends on how you ride. That bike shines in certain areas the touring bikes do not, and vice versa.

It’s not for everyone but if u can do both go for it man 💪🏽
Öhlins or GP Suspension?!
Neither 😬
GP
There a nice bike but in my opinion it’s a solo rider bike
Indian Challenger is lighter , faster and more comfortable, than Road Glide.
I lost 100lbs.....I would get the Baby Shark😛
I didn't choose, I just said add another. LRST, RGL, and RKS. Makes life easier
No
Yes
@@Marvelkid87 lol 😂
I'd say that's a downgrade
I’d say you never ridden one. It just preference. You want to be pushing a cow all day or a baby goat. It’s very agile compared to a big bagger. Has the power and the bags. It’s sport bagger. Best of both worlds. Dont hate
Wilburs suspend
Done with Harley-Wokinsons
Im done with Starbucks coffee it’s so expensive and the lines are ridiculous. 711 had pretty good coffee for half the price plus candy and cigarets 🤷🏽♂️ you can’t beat that
Basically the Road Glide was TOO BIG for you. No shame
Clearly not I had the bike for a few years #noshame but thanks for insinuating pal 😁👍🏽
Can't get past the color. It is correctly named. Looks like the tobacco juice that dribbled down the corners of my grandfather's mouth.
Your bike is beautiful but I could never go from my RG to a LR ST. It feels too small for me. My boy got a custom spoiler made for his LRST and it looks sick.
Nice
I live in Toronto and on a road glide and in traffic is the worse definitely going the dark side
