Geoff's wife Kathy (who was sacked out there on the couch that whole time, even tho no one notices her until she wakes up) supports his solo work as much as she can. They used to perform together. But now she has profound hearing loss (there's vids about it on Geoff's channel). She still assists where needed. Like any music vid, all the vocals for this were recorded and mixed first, and then the lip-sync video was shot. After the first round of filming was done, Geoff decided that the monsters came across as too scary rather than comedic, so he committed to shooting everything again. The original makeup artist was not available for the reshoot, so Kathy did the makeup.
This guy is so cool. I checked out his version of "Sounds Of Silence" Fantastic. Thanx for this one. Super.😎👍👍
You folks are freaking me out by switching positions! I can't handle change!
Take another look at the "dancing Geoffs" and see how the dance moves become more complex as the song progresses. Each time they perform it, they add another little movement to each section. The dance moves represent 4 of the most famous movie monsters: Frankenstein's monster (reaching hands), Wolfman (slashing claws), Dracula (hiding behind his cape), and the Mummy (wrapped up in bandages).
While Geoff had some help with the dance moves from a former VoicePlay member who now does choreography work, pretty much everything else about the video is done by him and his wife Kathy (who played the lady at the end). Geoff arranges the music, records all of the vocal tracks, records all of the musical tracks (he's played piano since he was a child; he uses plugins on his keyboard for other instruments), produces, creates and directs the video, often films himself using locked off cameras (this used several, one for each of the dancing Geoffs and one for the seated one), and edits the video. In this one, he used one of Pattycake Productions sets (where Layne Stein (beatboxer) and Tony Wakim (former VoicePlay member) are partners). So while some of Geoff's videos are just him and his wife, this one was more of a VoicePlay "family" affair.
Absolutely need to see the original by Bobby Pickett - make sure it's live
Great reaction to your first Geoff solo (sort of) performance!! And, you got to meet Geoff's wife Kathy with the cameo appearance. She's the production manager for Geoff and Voiceplay. I love this one for the same reasons you called out. It's just plain FUN!! But, the production quality is just as high!! You'll see lots of Geoffs in all his performances as the multiple Geoffs show off his vocal range where it's obvious he's singing every part. And, he also performs the instrumental parts. There are quite a lot of great Geoff performances. Two of my favorites are Jack's Lament and Misty Mountains Cold....but there are plenty of great Geoff releases. Nice reaction as always!! Looking forward to the next one!!
Awesome! And now on to his versions of Headless Horseman, I See Fire, Over the Misty Mountains Cold, and Ghost Riders In the Sky.
When searching out another good Halloween - try Jack's Lament from Nightmare Before Christmas. Geoff just dropped Big Gun last Friday. Another that I love is Unshaken. VoicePlay has just done Classical Chaos which is incredible.
Thank you both for a great reaction to Geoff. This one shows off Geoffs playful side. Please do a reaction video to Geoffs newest solo cover " Big Iron "
..it is his best ever. We get 5 Geoff's in this one & his harmonise & extra bridges he adds are phenomenal. Please do a reaction to it.
You really need to check out all of Geoff's "solo" stuff! He is an amazing talent! Try Geoff's Way Down for pure fun!
Can't believe you haven't checked Geoff's solo work! His stuff is amazing.
Geoff started doing solo work when Covid shut the world down and Voiceplay could no longer tour. So, his catalogue is not huge, but every one is a winner. Try his version of an old American folk song, Shenandoah.
For humorous Voiceplay try Drunken Sailor. Trust me!
Don't forgot '16 Tons' with Geoff.....
Yes, Geoff and Voice Play are the kings of anything spooky, creepy, or Halloween themed. The dead woman on the couch that he danced with in the end is his wife, Kathy, and she is the production manager for Voice Play and solo Geoff. I think you would really love Geoff's solo covers of "Jack's Lament" from 'Nightmare Before Christmas' and "Headless Horseman".
I think this video was created at Geoff's friend and Voiceplay's member, Layne Stein's PattyCake Productions.
"the kings of anything spooky, creepy, or Halloween themed". Never hear of him before this. It's a big world. Then again, I'm old and not subject to modern interpretations of classic 'anything'. I would have gave that title to Rob Zombie jokingly.
Love y'all's reactions but, oh, you REALLY need to check out Geoff's versions of I See Fire and Misty Mountains Cold from the Hobbit movies. Those really show off his range. His cover of 16 Tons is also crazy good.
Thanks for another great reaction.
I agree completely I see fire and misty mountains are my favorite from him. But almost all of his are great.
You don't often see just one of Geoff in his covers. He usually clones himself to do all the parts of the arrangements he creates. Geoff covers a lot of genres and all are family friendly. He is very aware of his audience. He worked for Disney in the past in musical productions.
The Sound of Silence is another song that He sang beautifully❗
Geoff is awesome, voiceplay are amazing too
Check out Geoff's version of "The Sound of Silence" it showcases his range very well!!
Voiceplay released a new video a couple weeks ago...... Classical Chaos.
It is hilariously funny. 12 classical music pieces in a fun medley.
They brought back their characters (Grundels) from "In The Hall of The Mountain King".
They're also be premiering their new video tomorrow, Friday the 19th at noon est.....
The Way You Make Me Feel featuring DeeJay Young.
It is absolutely fantastic.
Geoff Castellucci released his new video a couple weeks ago also.... Big Iron.
Great story telling song about a Texas outlaw and a Ranger.
He and his 4 clones are amazing in it.
So many good Geoff songs, but for starters, "16 Tons", "Ghost Riders in the Sky", "Fulsom Prison Blues", and "You Don't Mess Around with Jim".
he films, edits, acts, sings; he does it all.....
You should react to voiceplay’s version of hellfire
You should try his "Ghost Riders in the Sky"
Check out Geoff's cover of Marty Robbins' Big Iron on his Hip.
Thanks for your reaction to this, it's now one of my favorite Halloween songs! (And of course the others are by Geoff as well. 😊)
Bobby Boris Pickett's original is a work of genius... a #1 hit in 1962, and a hit again in 1970.
If you want an amazing song for Halloween just listen to voiceplay's version of this is Halloween.. and if you want to listen to Geoff's voice range you can check i see fire and man of constant sorrow
Hi guys! The 'dance' depicts the 4 main 'universal horror film' characters - Frankenstein's monster, Wolfman, Dracula with his cape and the Mummy! They were filmed at a slower speed then sped up to make their movements more 'jerky'..! 😊 Geoff has a large solo catalogue, he started during lockdown, when all touring stopped - both Geoff and VP really LOVE Halloween, and have a large range of songs for that time of year - VP have done several from The Nightmare Before Christmas, you can't go wrong with anything from either VP or Geoff! I remember the original from its re-release in the 70's, but love his humour in this version! You really need to check out Geoff's two songs from the Hobbit trilogy - Over The Misty Mountains Cold and I See Fire, the latter is just superb! 🥰
Geoff is great, but you really need to check out the original of this.
I remember it well....have it on a cd collection disc
Bobby “Boris” Pickett is great. I love his facial expressions. Another version to check out is Mannheim Steamroller. This one’s fun cause he does the work of four singers.
Here, here!
You need to check Jeff out in Ghost Riders in the Sky and Jack's Lament.
I thought I was in the twilight zone when I clicked on and you two had switched positions.
One of my Absolut Favorit Songs how Shows wery wel how gut his rang control ist, its calld High and Dry
Oh ! You need to check the Bobby Picket original and then the mighty Bonzo Dog Band (featuring Sam Spoons as The Creature) for the definitive live performance.
Check out his version of Ghost Riders in the Sky!!!
All the boys love Halloween. Geoff also covers The Headless Horseman and Jack's Lament. But, you really have to see Geoff's cover of Ain't No Sunshine! Yeah, he has 5 octaves to WOW us with. Geoff also isn't a Capella, but he keeps it light.
This is my first reaction video I've seen of you two and I REALLY liked it! I want to introduce you to a great group of bass singers, just like Geoff, they're The Bass Gang. They did a cover of an old sea shanty that was featured in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", it's "Jolly Sailor Bold." It's really good!!! Ideal reaction around Halloween, but it's still good anytime of the year!
Yall need to check out the nightmare before Christmas that his group voice play do. Geoff goes to lows that shouldn’t be possible
interesting...version...hed have some fun making these
Two more videos he does amazing on is "The Headless Horseman" and "Far beyond the misty mountains" Both great examples of his lower rangeMelding with upper range almost seamlessly!
Hi! I have an oldie! Ritchie Valenz-
La bomba. Ritchie valenz died in the plane crash with buddy Holly, the big boppa, and I believe 1 other. Tragic! He was so young. Like 17 or something. I hope you play this!!
An absolute great song to get you moving! Impossible to sit still through. Dare you to try!
Hi Guys, the original song was released in the early `60`s, I did not hear of it until the late `70`s /early `80`s with a re-release. The original singer was Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers & you get to see Bobby get into character at the start. There is a video from the `60`s by (NRRArchives2), it is 4 Min 24 Secs long.
The video makes this version special. I still like the original more, but Geoff makes a great monster mash singer 😂🙃😉
Can you imagine this on an old rack stereo system with 6 surround sound speakers?
Love this one! As long as you're fine doing these out of season, his range is even more on display in VoicePlay's Oogie Boogie's Song, from the movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
entertaining, but Bobby Pickett performing his original one on American Bandstand in the 60's (?), rocks more and cooler because he does it like a real horror-film actor
With Halloween season coming up, definitely check out his covers of The Headless Horseman and Jack's Lament from Nightmare Before Christmas. They are both incredible.
It’s funny he has a name for each of his other personalities. You have Geoff and his three brothers Jeff, Goff, and Daryl. If you watch his “Folsom Prison Blues” video the prisoner numbers spell their names. In this video his wife had to step in on the reshoots to do his makeup cause the makeup artist he had wasn’t able to help on the reshoots due to scheduling conflicts. You should also check Bobby “Boris” Pickett’s version (he was the original). For him do a live version cause his facial expressions are amazing. Mannheim Steamroller does a different version to this more upbeat.
Don't forget Jeoph! Daryl only shows up when there's a fourth clone, like in Unshaken, Ghost Riders, and Folsom Prison Blues.
I’m a bit surprised you did this one early (pre-Halloween) but I’m going to suggest ya’ll check out this year’s VoicePlay Halloween song. This year they’ve done Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and they’ve done a wonderful job of it!
Of course, they (and Geoff) have done other Halloween songs (if you want to get into the spooky vibe) but as usual ‘The Kings of Halloween’ keep out-doing themselves.
Great song and reaction! Please react to Geoff doing JACK'S LAMENT. I is phenomenal and perfect for an October reaction. Love you two. Thanks.
Ty for your reaction ❤. Check out his Jack's Lament from Nightmare Before Christmas. His range is ridiculous 😮
He has so many good songs. Generally speaking, with a few exceptions, his songs seem to get better and better as time goes by. For the next one, pick something within the last year or so.
Definitely listen to his cover of "16 Tons" if you haven't already!
I’ve never heard this version. I only know Bobby Picketts’s original from the 60s although I first heard Pickett’s version when it was re-released in 1973.
The original had a 'Boris Karloff' Impersonation for the main vocal with those classic cheesy female back ups from the 50's. I get what he's doing, but like most people whom grew up with a loved original (of anything), remakes like this never replace it. I guess that's why I see the more successful versions made long enough later to capture a new audience that don't know the original or the people responsible and the version they see gets all the credit.
I watched you react to some Bee Gees songs, try "Man in the Middle" it's sung just by Maurice, not Barry or Robin. it's from their last album "This is Where I Came In". not long after they started touring for that album, things went bad.If you don't know the story, just look it up, but it's a sad story
Please react to Keith Whitley was a great Country music singer , I think you'll like him . Don't Close Your Eyes , When You Say Nothing At All , My Miami My Amy and I'm No Stranger To The Rain . He was married to Country music singer Lorrie Morgan . In until his death in 1989 from alcoholism .
It's an reaaonable rendition but the original will always be the best version.
Yes even though this is pretty cool, but should have checked the original first. Novelty songs are something you guys should do more of. Songs like The Witch Doctor by David Seville who was responsible for Alvin And The Chipmunks. For something totally different you two would get a kick out of is Evil Bollweevel. There were a couple of other things similar to that. It’s based on when Evel Kenevel tried jumping the Grand Canyon.
Need to check out the original.
If you ever been to a Halloween party, I KNOW you've heard the original.
👍🎶
Can tell you put some money into sound quality. Very clear and sounds good you might have it turned up a little hot, little speaking in a hallway echo
I like the original.. Lol OMG never heard this version smh. Phil, Sam I'm not too sure about this..
React to the walk song by NCT 127. It's an amazing song.
OK now try monster mash by small town titans….
I like the original much better.😊
Way slower than the original. Listen to Bobby Pickett sing the original.
The original is better
Boris Bobby Pickett's version is much better.
Sorry i prefer the original
awful...lol
Sucks
