I made shirts without the yolk because I never understood why it was used and in my mind made the project harder but my shoulders always looked bulky. Thank you for this
Another thing it’s used for is ventilation to the back here in Australia . You leave part of the seam open and put a net-like fabric under so the heat doesn’t make your back all sweaty
I know you replied to me today but I didn’t get to read it, lost it, can’t find it…. I said I want to learn how to set in sleeves on men’s dress shirts with the seam that has no raw edges and is sorta like a flat felled seam but not quite, kinda like a overlapped seam…. If you’d resend the message I will be grateful and will try to hang on to it this time. Thanks.
My D&D player who is a tailor is going to learn to hate my thirst for knowing things I have no business knowing. Thank you.
Or maybe it brings your friendship to a new level?! 😏
You're the epitome of a yoke, Cornelius . . . refined and detailed. Yep, that's you, my friend.
A compliment of the highest order. Thank you 🙏🏻
I love the way you teach. You simplify things without it feeling like you're being condescending

I'm working on my first shirt now and this is one of my biggest questions about the pattern I'm using. Thank you so much!

Love the sleeve. The cuffs are beautiful, any tips on making cuffs?

Please let me know how to measure yoke width.
it's best have someone help do that. or use another shirt that fits well.

All self taught :)
@@CorneliusQuiring - Good 3-dimensional thinking.

Ahh, I thought you were interested in a felled seam. An overlapped seam in more intense.
Me too ❤
Nice :)
Do you know any good dad yokes?
Not off the top of my head, but I'd love to hear some :)
