  • SoonerScoop.com’s Eddie Radosevich and George Stoia are back in Scoop studios on Campus Corner following an abysmal offensive performance and 25-15 loss to Tennessee that led to the benching of starting quarterback Jackson Arnold. Where can this offense go from here? That’s a question that will be asked many times over the next week heading into the first road trip of the year at Auburn. So much wasted in an outstanding defensive performance on Saturday to open play in the Southeastern Conference.

OU has gone from having some of the best QBs in college football history with incredible offenses and horrific defenses to now being completely the other way around. That's arguably the worst offensive OU football performance I've ever seen dating back to the early 80s and it's not only the QB but the playcalling. Jackson Arnold played so abysmally, it has me questioning the entire offensive coaching staff. They knew that kid wasn't ready, zero chance they didn't know. I could list all the issues, but no one wants to spend the next couple hours reading. If this continues next week, they might need to fire everyone on that side of the ball. I knew all that "continuity" BS was ridiculous. This is Brents 3rd season, and he is about to have his second 6 win season. Is that acceptable at Oklahoma? Vols are a complete team and extremely talented, they can beat anyone. That said, OU defense held up against them and played plenty good enough to win. The OU offense was a total disaster. Worse yet, they've looked the same all year, and TN exposed it for how bad it really is. No development, QB regressed, everything you mentioned. You have to blame the coaches. And the players too, they're all getting paid now so they have to deliver. You can't throw millions at this offense and tolerate that performance.

On the fake injury stuff…in fairness UT does it as well but usually after an extra point to give defense a little more time. NCAA needs to change rule that if a player goes down due to “injury” they are out for the rest of that possession. Refs can’t decide if someone is hurt or not, but if you go down you’re out for rest of that series whether it’s 1 more play or 10.
