Sad But True: I actually overheard a Greedwill Manager instruct a new hire to “pull items with signs of quality before they hit the floor because GW is really emphasizing the online store”. This was GW Central Coast, CA.
In addition, San Jose, CA has an entire warehouse closed to the public where pulled items are sent to be posted online. I went there and saw it in the flesh. I too always wondered about GW cherry-picking for online sales, but now I can confirm your suspicions. This is one of the many reasons I tend to refrain from patronizing Greedwill. 😢
This had been going on for a while now started after goodwill noticed they can make more profits online after the pandemic. They are starting to grab everything and you see it drastically change the reseller market. There a many families that depend on their local markets to provide for their business and families but I can honestly say they are leaving little to none for these people now. Not including the shady things that happen in the dark between store managers who obviously get first pick. They take the High valued items for themselves such as gold silver jewelry autographed items etc and then have to make up for it online by grabbing everything else which then leaves basically junk for the resellers in the end. Obviously they can't get it all and the do miss things though it is not even close to how it used to be before the pandemic.

That dior was probably real. They used to license their name. But you didn't miss any money. I can only get $10-$15 for Men's dior after months. They have a low sell through rate

I would totally buy the cowprint jacket. I love cow print. I am a part time reseller, own a fixer upper as a rental, and I’m a full time senior reporting analyst in workforce management for a healthcare company. You have to be a little southern to wear cow print 😂🤷🏼♀️
Cow print is HUGE at my daughters High School. Their big rivalry game is “Cowhide” EVERYONE goes all out in cow print. I can definitely see how it would sell. Btw I LOVE your videos!

Hell yeah! In goodwill in Oklahoma, past 3 weeks. I found ulla johnson dress, jean paul gaultier jeans, red Valentino trench, Johnny was velvet hoodie .

I almost spit out my drink...you don't waddle! That was very funny! :) Thanks for the smiles. Shoes like Vionic have a "cult-following" because they provide superior arch and heel cup support. I wish I had known about these things when I was in my 20s because I am paying for it now. Another great brand is ABEO because they offer 3 different types of insoles. I am metatarsal which is really high arches (got them from my great grams).
Omg but the footage doesn’t lie…maybe if I wore Abeo or vionic shoes I wouldn’t waddle haha. But yes-I like selling abeo shoes as well!

Badwill in Illinois is always my last thrifting stop - and it's the first thing to drop off my list if I can't hit everything. They're such money-grubbers it's rarely worth the time spent.
I think #2 bundle had the best stuff.
I have said that the bins location is getting thinner and thinner with good brands from the greedwill (as some here said) is in fact picking all the good stuff and reselling on their site. I wont go to the regular stores because our cost in indiana is now 12.99 for jeans and shirts are 8.99 and even at 50% off is high but the high end brands are missing too. An employee showed us something that they get wit a list of items they are to pick before putting on the floor. I wont donate to gw at all. What do yall think? I think illinois stores are a little better and they are cheaper but why???
I also search for Talbots for my Mom and just listed a red blazer that she opted out of. :)
We are neighbors, I also thrift in Peoria. They are good but they definitely know their brands, they mark up certain brands.

That IS a benefit! We don’t even have Salvation Army thrift stores anymore. They’ve all closed down 😩
I think you are absolutely right. They do have an online store with auctions. It’s called GW Industries of Central Illinois, I believe. Their starting prices are around 8.99, they also add a jarring $4.50 of a handling price sooooo… Anyways, love your thrift-with-me videos. Still great finds! Happy February ❤

NYC is the hardest to source and it is expensive. Too many connossieur as well.
That puckering is when some threads break from being stretched. And it happens at all sizes of jeans. Because we ladies like to squeeze our booties into whatever is cute, be damned the size!! 🤣

I only source at GW om dollar day. Between the cherry picking for their online platform, lower value items donated in my area, and the high prices, the profit is just so limited. You found some really fun stuff though!

I'm super curious if you got the hacking jacket past the Poshmark censors. I tried to list a tan version of that jacket a couple months ago and it was blocked because of language.
I had to remove "hacking" to get it through. I changed the name to Tweed Country Jacket. (I sold on an offer for $75)

Yea I don't shop Goodwill because of their selfish ways we have Upscale Resales here in S.C that build tiny houses for the homeless ,so I love them and shop all 4 cities with them.
