Don't do it. I did everything to move away from there in 2013. Amazing city pre-2005, but between Katrina exodus, 2008 California recession exodus and the latest worldwide economic issues, the population keeps growing exponentially (in 2012 when I was about to move, it was 10,000+/month) because it's basically the safest city on the planet for jobs market. Which means the quality of life keeps going down as the expenses and taxes keep skyrocketing. It will soon be worse than Las Angeles. And the weather absolutely sucks 6 months a year. (Winter is awesome and warm-mild, but nothing can prepare you for summer salt-water humidity) She's my home of 35 years though, goodbye ol girl. 😢
Just now seeing this. I went thrifting Monday 12/23 and just by accident ended up at the greenspoint location. Your rating is exactly how I felt. It was my first time at a bin store and I was just totally overwhelmed. Didn't really find anything resell worthy but more knock around stuff for myself. I think my experience there has left me feeling like I don't really need to go to the bins ever again. I like the thrill of the hunt but not that much LOL
I live by the Cypress Outlet. I was very upset when they changed it to bins but I have been strangely addicted since I checked it out, lol I find amazing treasures there!
I am located in Washington state. We have 6 good will Outlets. I have been to 5 of the 6. The one I have not been to is in Spokane area which is by far the furthest away. However, the 5 other bins are all in a line and starting at the Olympia location and going up north to the Everrett location will take you around 1.5 hours. not too bad. :) I am also a reseller. Happy picking!

Yeah it’s a great job anyone can do 🥰 I always suggest starting off with things around your home that you want to sell and then slowly get into the thrifting world

My sister and I went to the Fuqua location. That was our first time at a GW bin. It was GHETTO! It was hot, dirty, crowded, loud. They were out of shopping carts. I somehow got green craft paint all over my arm. There was a man passed out drunk on the sidewalk. We found some nice clothing, but most of it was trash.

I know this is an old video but it’s new to me. I about died when you were at store 3 and I saw what looked like unif Hellraiser shoes. I always look for those still thrifting and online. They’re typically priced $100 plus but you find really great stuff
Never seen five bins in one metro area. The most I have ever seen was Denver where there are four. I like to go to one of the better bin stores. In about an hour, I can accomplish what I get in a day of driving all over town for garage sales. My most recent bin score was 50 new in package, vintage cross stitch kits. Paid $23 for them. So far, proceeds (eBay sales) exceed $800....
We took a 2 day trip to Houston a couple weeks ago and found absolutely nothing at the 2 GW bins and several regular GW. The only thing that saved our trip from being a bust was Value Village and a couple small charity thrift. For the money we spent on gas and hotel, we should have stayed in Austin and done our regular route. It was an experience, but not to be repeated.
@@EssentialEndeavours Fri/Sat so probably not the best time. We also tried the Family Thrift Centers and Outlet. I watch several YT resellers that shop Houston, so we went with HIGH hopes. Something in the higher powers said Houston is not for us.
GW bins I go to if we find a single shoe and give up looking we put the single shoe on shelf by the snack/coke machine area so others might stand a chance of finding the other shoe eventually.It’s just the nice thing to do
Man! I miss Greenspoint. I used to love the computer store. Having moved away from HTX, I like to tell the Goodwill employees that where I used to live had like 95 Goodwill locations. So much junk in Houston. 😀
We only have 1 or 2 in the state of Okahoma. Our price though is 1.09 after 25 lbs!!! Yeah! My daughter and I have been raking in good stuff. I lived in Atascocita from 1999-2013 and Houston, Crosby, or Pasadena the rest of my life till we moved to OK.

When you said "the one on Gessner" I immediately knew you weren't from H-town, lol (We don't say it with a "J" sound) I know that ppl are just trying to make a living (especially nowadays), but watching this brings me back to my early 20s when all I could afford was Goodwill. I always struggled to find anything that looked presentable when I went because the only clothes left behind looked like something that my mom or grandma had just donated. It was ESPECIALLY hard to find professional looking "job interview" attire. It just seems like a lot of people who thrift professionally are also taking away a low income person's chances to find clothes they need in order to better themselves. And yes, nice clothes really are a necessary purchase when you're trying to increase your chances of getting hired at a better job because employers definitely judge candidates based on their appearance. I don't mean to be negative, and no hate to you, but I just wouldn't feel right about profiting off of shopping in a store that I don't "need" to shop at when everyone else is shopping there because it's the only thing they can afford. I wonder if there's a way to do the same thing but while also excluding places where lower income people are usually "forced" to shop due to their lack of wealth. One of the reasons why thrift stores are now charging more is due to this exact trend(many have been found charging the retail price for used items). I already know how the gentrifying neighborhoods leads to the existing inhabitants no longer being able to afford living there. But now it's being done in the thrift stores too 😂
Haven't been to the Sabo or Gessner locations. So far I prefer the Cypress location. Try and go early and stay for about 3 hours to go through several rounds.

We used to have a $1 goodwill where it was like the bins but everything was just 1. 00 all the time and they closed it and Its been 2 years and just cant believe they did that to me LOL...
I love the sabo one similar to greespoint. Very mellow and they always have carts. Longpoint is chaos with aggressive shoppers but so many items. I bring my collapsible wagon, color coded bags to separate and neck fan because it’s always hot in that one. There’s always a group of young males that are into vintage single stitch tees in every store I’ve gone to 🤣

Hello, I live in Natalia which is just South of San Antonio. San Antonio outlet is not so good, but North Austin is worth the drive. I like driving to Houston to go to the bins, but have not tried all 5 yet. This video will help me decide which ones I should try next time I go.

Lol I felt grossed out by it too in the beginning but there ain’t nothing that can’t get solved with some soap and hot water 🤣 I don’t usually pick up a whole lot of “dirty” shoes anymore, learned to keep an eye out for the cleaner ones 🤗 saves time which is key when it comes to this job haha (the sorels for example look dirty but really it’s just grass stuck to the bottom, just need to take them outside with a brush and then wipe them down, get the new laces and good to go 👍)
I'm surprised you didn't pick up the black studded loafers in the bin at the third place. I believe those are made by UNIF. They're genuine leather and went for over $100 when they first came out. I bought them new on eBay from a seller for $45. Cheers! Thanks for tips.

Ahh yeah if you’re uncomfortable then definitely don’t go! I felt the most uncomfortable at gessner. I would always suggest going during the day time and during the week if you can 🥰 stay safe!

I know it always amazes me what doesn’t get picked up after I know resellers have been through it. Just shows everyone is looking for something different and there’s always plenty to go around 🤗 that’s why I never really mad dash to the new bins when I first get to a store, there’s always amazing goodies waiting to be found 🤓

Atlanta or Goodwill north GA does not have an outlet . Columbus GA or Goodwill Southern Rivers has only one . Goodwill in Chattanooga has only one also . I would love to visit the Houston Goodwill outlets !

I love the sabo one similar to greespoint. Very mellow and they always have carts. Longpoint is chaos with aggressive shoppers but so many items. I bring my collapsible wagon, color coded bags to separate and neck fan because it’s always hot in that one. There’s always a group of young males that are into vintage single stitch tees in every store I’ve gone to 🤣
When you say check comps? Are you looking at sold items on reselling apps?

You should for sure 🥰 there’s quite a handful of family thrift outlets too so you’re bound to find amazing things between those outlets and the bins!
Hello, I live in Natalia which is just South of San Antonio. San Antonio outlet is not so good, but North Austin is worth the drive. I like driving to Houston to go to the bins, but have not tried all 5 yet. This video will help me decide which ones I should try next time I go.
I believe there are nearly 100 goodwills in the city of Houston. Is there a difference between a regular Goodwill center and a Goodwill outlet?

Lol I felt grossed out by it too in the beginning but there ain’t nothing that can’t get solved with some soap and hot water 🤣 I don’t usually pick up a whole lot of “dirty” shoes anymore, learned to keep an eye out for the cleaner ones 🤗 saves time which is key when it comes to this job haha (the sorels for example look dirty but really it’s just grass stuck to the bottom, just need to take them outside with a brush and then wipe them down, get the new laces and good to go 👍)

I'm surprised you didn't pick up the black studded loafers in the bin at the third place. I believe those are made by UNIF. They're genuine leather and went for over $100 when they first came out. I bought them new on eBay from a seller for $45. Cheers! Thanks for tips.

Ahh yeah if you’re uncomfortable then definitely don’t go! I felt the most uncomfortable at gessner. I would always suggest going during the day time and during the week if you can 🥰 stay safe!

Sacramento has 3 outlet locations! All within less then 30 minutes of each other but all in different areas of sacramento haha

Always amazed how a bin can be picked over but people always leave behind Birkies. People tend to pass up on anything sandals for some reason
I know it always amazes me what doesn’t get picked up after I know resellers have been through it. Just shows everyone is looking for something different and there’s always plenty to go around 🤗 that’s why I never really mad dash to the new bins when I first get to a store, there’s always amazing goodies waiting to be found 🤓

Atlanta or Goodwill north GA does not have an outlet . Columbus GA or Goodwill Southern Rivers has only one . Goodwill in Chattanooga has only one also . I would love to visit the Houston Goodwill outlets !
