Thank you for all the great ideas, Brooke💗I´m from Norway, and inflation here is crazy. I was so happy last week when my local grocery store had a sale on eggs. A pack of 6 eggs was $ 1.01 in stead of $ 3.26. I bought 8 catons of eggs😅 Prices will increase by at least 10% from February 1st.

I’m in the Central Valley of California. Our prices are higher on most items. I paid a dollar less yesterday on my bread than your prices but my laundry detergent was $6 more. I’m somewhat doing the pantry challenge but I’m spending about $100 a week for our family of 5. I’m totally impressed that you’ve been able to only spend $50 a week!

I'm glad you emphasize a stocked pantry, it's a game changer. I don't usually have a strict shopping list except for the items I use every week. For me it's bananas, milk . cheese & eggs, breads, fresh veggies are about every two weeks . Otherwise I will purchase the lowest price or mark down on meat, chicken , deli meat. For quite awhile I could get cooked sliced ham for 2.99 lb and sometimes it would be marked down to 1.99/ lb at the counter. I found the best prices for us overall at Winco. I do shop Grocery Outlet for their markdowns. You can get crackers, cookies sometimes for .50 cents , yogurt is cheap too. Walmart i find good deals on their frozen veggies, marked down bread. Cheese is usually a good price. Even Trader Joe's can have the lowest price on a few items. At dollar tree I like the sourdough bread, 12 flour tortillas ,frozen ravioli and framer John 7 oz. Sausage. Good shopping you all.

Hi Brooke, I found you right before Thanksgiving and I appreciate the content you record. I am an old fashioned cook and almost always cook from scratch. I also went to Walmart this week and saw first hand the rising prices. I am a senior citizen without a vehicle and I shop online and have my groceries delivered. I love the convenience. I shop sales only and this week got eggs for $5.49 doz, butter 2#'s $6. #10 potaotes $2.69 etc. I canned meat for 2 summers and got enough to last a few years. I commend you on feeding your family well on a budget. I love your pioneer woman stuff. Have a great weekend.

I'm in downstate Illinois, our Walmart has basically given up. There are no prices on most of the shelves. Especially eggs, because I'm sure they are afraid no one will buy them. I have been buying egg whites in the carton for years, they used to be more expensive, but, like you said, now its cheeper in comparison. Our Walmart always looks like a tornado went thru it. They just remodeled ours, and made the aisles wider, I'm sure to accommodate for all the online shopping employees to fit those giant carts they use. We also only have maybe 2 lines with an actual person to ring up the items. Our store is all self serve now. So, I guess we all work for Walmart now. It's a mess. We only go there for things we absolutely have to have. We are Aldi shoppers. The walmart is right across the street, so we go there after Aldi.

Probably shouldn't expect eggs (or chicken) to go down in price anytime soon. After that last wave of bird flu a few months back, thousands and thousands of chickens had to be euthanized and destroyed. :-( Always so sad. Anyway, thanks Brooke for sharing. Great video. I liked that you showed prices for name brand and store brand foods. Reminds people that they can buy a lot more food with house brands. Here in Vicksburg, MS, our milk, butter and egg prices are a little higher. To save money at our house, we are eating less of some of our favorite foods. As always, great having my coffee with you. We have a new house guest, Covid-19. Yes, my two sisters and I have Covid. We are into the second week and starting to feel better. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰

About the chickens--good chance the cold spell had something to do with that. Chickens don't lay many eggs in winter. They use more body energy to stay warm and the darker hours also influence laying.

Wow! I moved to Canada from Florida 6 years ago. When I moved here, the US prices for food were (factoring in the exchange rate) several dollars cheaper. Now, the prices are 2-4 dollars higher in your area. This takes into account the 30-40 percent exchange rate! The only exception are some of the Great Value items you showed, which were on par or slightly cheaper.

In az Walmart bread went from $1 to $1.32. eggs are over $7 for 18 count everywhere. It's like they bring up the cost of living and think that bringing up minimum wage by a dollar or two is enough. What they need to do is raise minimum wage by $10 and not raise prices for a few years. Let us catch up a little bit.

hi Brooke this is Sue, l just went to the store yesterday (Niagara Region, Canada) because l need someting, anyhoo, peppers were 4.88/lbs, milk 5.59 for a bag of milk 4 litres (a gallone), 2.5 dozen eggs costocos 8.49, l simple bag of cheese here goes for almost 8 bucks, l will buy a block and grate it myself, butter here is on the same path of OMG almost $7+, Laundry soap Tide goes for around 22 bucks, l buy Arm & Hammer 3x strength off of amazon for 11. And Chicken LORD don't get me started with that, l can't belive how much meat has gone up, it is ridiculous, 10 lbs tube of ground beed, is almost 35 dollars, Honeynut cherrios is roughly 6 bucks, l try to buy cereal when on sale, Junk food and pop is roughly the same prices, flour again roughly same prices, l buy a 50lbs at a wholesalers place for 22 bucks, make my own bread, Cream of Mushroom soup, 1.98, again l wait for sales on soup and stock up, Ramen was a sale price for us, .27/pack, l grabbed a case of 24 for 6.48, We stopped buying canned veggies, like you said there are getting pricey, and frozen are cheaper and in our opinion fresher, Now saying all of that, l must say hubby is proud of me for not spending any money on groceries, and doing the pantry challenge, l just had to get milk and eggs last week, and l want to do a sheet pan dinner saturday for dinner, so l went and bought a 4 pack of peppers, thats it, woohoo. l am proud of myself, going to keep going till things look to bare. Thanks for all the inspiration Brooke.

Never go without a list and coupons. We no longer go to the Deli. Oscar Mayer Bologna is good and Store brand deli style lunch meat in plastic containers. Store brand bread. Walmart has good canned meats. Great for Pantry. Chips are a luxury. We now cook from scratch. Reinvent leftovers. So on and so on. Loving it. Sam's once a month.

I checked my prices here in Northwest Tn, yes all the way across the state. Our prices for canned veggies are all 58 cents and our frozen veggies run anywhere from 98 cent to $1.10, depending what it is. Our bread runs from 98 cents for buns to $1.10 for loaves. Now these were to Wal-Mart brands only! Our Cokes and Pepsi/Dr. Pepper prices are slot cheaper but that could be because we have local distributions for both! I didn't check the meat prices because I normally don't buy meats as I buy a 1/4 beef twice a year, a 1/4 pig once a year, and my son raises meat chickens and I usually have more than I can deal with. I don't buy many veggies as we raise a garden and I can or freeze a lot during the summer.
I continually watch the sales papers because our local grocery, family owned, often has great sales and every 3 months has a Hugh meat sale where I stock up on what meats I don't have! In the summer once produce starts coming in they will also have a big tent sale!
I will say this about stocking up, if you use a lot of tomato products and you don't have them now, STOCK UP NOW! Because of flooding in California, there probably will be a shortage soon and oils because of the Russian deal there will also be a shortage or even higher prices from the articles I have been reading!
I'm new to you channel but am loving it as I'm a budgeter and have been adding a lot to stock up!

Interesting to see your prices over there. To be honest I am a little jealous on most of the prices. It is way more expensive for the majority of the items shown over here in Australia. Take care x

Here in San Diego CA, WalMart’s online price for GV large 18-count AA eggs, if I do pick-up, are listed at $9.33. Eggland’s Best are listed as $7.54.
The local egg farms sell their eggs for around $7.30 a dozen for jumbo.

The prices there are comparable to here in Arkansas where I'm at. Some stuff there are cheaper & some are more expensive. But pretty close in prices for some items.. We are at $19.13 for the 60 count eggs! It's crazy!

When I shop for produce I always count what is in the package as well with meat. I always want to get the most for my price.

Our potatoes for some reason are really cheap! 1.50 for 5lb and 2.50 for 10lb. Your prices are a lot more than I thought TN would be. Hm. I really hope things will come down soon! Thanks for the video, as always!

I know this is crazy but I was curious so I put all the items you purchased in my cart and it came to $57.02 without the discounts you found. I live in north west NJ so it was interesting to see that our prices are not that far off.
