Dutch King and Queen start state visit to Greece

- The Royal Couple will lay a wreath at the monument to the unknown soldier on Syntagma Square in Athens on Monday morning at the start of the state visit. Afterwards they are welcomed by President Sakellaropoulou and received at the Presidential Palace. That's where the decorations are exchanged.

My favorite royals. They look so happy together. Maxima is beautiful, elegant and poised. The smiling queen even looks comfortable in those sky-high heels after who knows how many hours on her feet.

Gezien de reacties zijn ze erg populair in het buitenland. Wellicht ziet men daar alleen het « perfecte plaatje » van deze acteurs en kent men noch geschiedenis, noch heden van deze familie. Maar wat mij betreft mag het buitenland ze hebben. Ook Willem I solliciteerde al eens naar een buitenlands troontje( bij Napoleon) dacht ik.

There is a different role that of kings and of presidents.Kings are supposed to care about the people so they are more human at times lets say. The president of democratic republic according to the greek consitution is higly symbolic and stick to making sure democracy is not overturned and leading the greek armed forces. Which means she doesnt do much like laughing joking around or being too sociable. She has to be serious and really typical.
