    I taught for six years and resigned the weeks ago. Still unemployed, but God will take care of the rest

    I left teaching after 10 yrs! Best decision I ever made! I’m way less stressed, I can use the bathroom whenever I want 😂 and I’m respected as an adult professional. Teachers are absolutely exploited and underpaid.

      Heavy on using the bathroom whenever you want ‼️ I totally agree, we get no respect and are used up so badly sometimes we’re too drained for the next job. I needed a month before I got back in any professional space. Glad we both got out alive!!

    Love this! You are inspiring. So many teachers feel stuck and all they have to do is see things differently. I’m a second year teacher but I decided in December I will not be signing another contract.

    Girl, do NOT go into private school. The hours are worse, the pay is abhorrent, the government has no oversight over anything they do. I have taught in private and public, and while public is the pits, private is NOT worth your mental health!
    I have been teaching nine years now, every year I tell myself I am going to leave the profession. I just don't know what to do that has similar benefits and equivalent time off.

    Teachers don’t get paid for the work some of them do. And it sucks that they don’t even have the support of the staff above them in a lot of places. I’m sorry you had to give up on one of ur passions, but I’m happy for yu that you got your peace of mind and your confidence back🎉.

      no offense, but are you white- or just non black? If so, why do (primarily white people) always say this to black people, to African Americans. The "you are so well spoken"? It's so weird to hear/read. It's so strange lol. Like I can't imagine saying that to another adult, lol. Maybe its a cultural thing.

    I have been teaching for 8 years but I did study education in college...I really think they throw far too many ppl out there with not enough training or experience whatsoever. This is really not a profession for everyone although kudos to teachers because I think they make it look so easy. One piece of advice of my professors gave me is that if you feel like quitting teaching try switching schools. It has made all the difference for me. I have even tried different grade bands and different counties. I had sadly two principals who were just awful ppl that sound a lot like yours. They selected a few ppl each year to make their lives difficult almost like hazing. It doesn’t sound like teaching was for you but if you ever get the urge to go back please consider your experience as an isolated one. Remember there was a reason why that job was open midyear and you got in within a week.

      This sounds so much like my experience. And yes I switched schools and things were different but not promising enough to stay. I wish things were different

    I’m on year 10 and I am ready to go. It’s March and honestly I don’t think I’m going to make it. I’m done with the whole field after this year with no real plan. I took Monday and today off for mental health. Forcing myself to go today. Definitely bout to write this resignation letter

      I’m going to finish the year so I can get paid and benefits through the summer. 2 more months. I been on school schedule my whole life and I feel like this job is holding me back. I can’t wait to spread my wings.

    You hit the nail on the head about the criticism and negative feedback that's why I took an early retirement. I don't regret leaving at all because myself worth and health was my first priority. The education system in America is broken 🌿

    Thank you for sharing this video. Wishing you on your success. I’ve resigned from my position as a toddler teacher. So I’m just redeeming myself, being still, going for a walk, meditating, and focusing on my mental health. And most of the times, I do miss working with the kids. My heart was broken when I resigned from my job. Leaving the teaching profession was a tough decision. But I had to do what was best for me and my mental health. And I’m in the process finding childcare jobs. But my sister told me I should leave those daycares alone, and to do something else. I’m going to leave the education/teaching alone for a bit. Also, my boss was begging me to stay, which the boss was trying to trick me to stay. I’m going to attend college to major in clinical mental health counseling or child psychology.

    Im in the military & this is how i feel. Mentally im struggling but physically it is fucking my body up so much right now. I got 6 more months & i keep telling myself to finish but for what honestly. The lifestyle is sooooo unsustainable. The shit is generally stupid & im exhausted. I went to the ER this morning 6 more months but i dont want to be in the hospital you know. I feel like this video popping up for a reason…

    Thank you for posting an update. I’ve already decided to resign, so now I’m trying to make it through the long homestretch to May. It’s destroying my health so much that I’m considering FMLA or keep my remaining time as brief as possible because it’s just too toxic for me.

    • @gorlunion
      @gorlunion  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You will be SO MUCH better when you quit. You’ll come back to life. If you are really suffering, don’t stay until May. Nobody is going to reward you for that or appreciate it. They’re still going to be bitter bc you’re leaving, whether u leave now or later. Put YOU first, bc the system doesn’t care abt us 🤷🏾‍♀️

    First, you look like the actress Theresa Randle. Second, have you thought about teaching abroad? There are online teacher prep programs. I went through Teacher Ready, but there are other programs.
