I'm still torn on which to go with even after the comparison. My concern with the ZL1 is that they don't provide as much protection as the (bulkier) EV Mudflaps. They are shorter and sleeker, but that comes at a cost. After driving around a bit yesterday I see a fair amount of spray on the sides still, which is concerning. Have you installed one of these? Which do you prefer? I have a feeling the Tesla version will be best.
Hello and thank you for your review. I tried with these metal clips to make a hole-free installation and it is too dangerous to cut yourself while washing the car. Here in Quebec with our climate, it must be solid as an installation. Flaps are fitted for the life of the car, so making small holes in a plastic fender trim is okay. No rust possible. EvMudflaps are Evduty flaps! ;)
I just installed the Tesla flaps today. They look pretty good and literally took 3 minutes to install both of them. It looks like the Tesla flaps stick out quite a bit more than both of the ones you tried.
I installed the Tesla mud flaps today. The look great and are very good quality..I’m hoping when available for order again the front mud flaps will also fit the rear
I switched to the EV Mudflaps and they were perfect. However, I felt I didn't need them as much. Big area of concern for me is that lower panel area that Tesla has released their OEM PPF for.
RPM Tesla sells the best splash guards currently on the market. They are a snap to install, fit perfect and look OEM. Don’t waste your money on any other brand!
Glad to hear those work well! They weren't yet released when I published this video, but do look good. Do you know if they have a drain hole at the bottom of them so they don't gather mud/water?

thanks for the in depth insights
@@entenu Glad it was helpful 👍
RallyArmor on my 2021 P3, had them on my STi, work great! Not as flappy as I would have liked
Nice. I heard they are working on a Model Y version.

Maybe eventually I'll stop babying her and drill them in, but can't bring myself to do it yet! 😬

That would be nice if they fit the rear also!
They just came out today.
Just curious if you drilled for the EV mudflaps or did you use Double Sided 3m tape instead?
For the ones in this video I just used clips and the plastic inserts that came with it. Stayed on fine while I owned the car too!
Are you still using the zl1 flaps?
No - took them off. Found they weren't protecting as well as I thought they would. Went with the EVMudflaps.
What mm thickness are the EV mudflats?
Not sure but they are plenty thick. Survived a New England winter with zero issue
@@TechMagnetic Do you think you could put a metric tape measure on the edge and lmk? Thanks
What about back mud flaps!???

ZL1 are the way to go. Good choice!
Definitely a cleaner look!
Did you add any PPF?
I didn't, but always wanted to go the stealth PPF route.
If you are just doing the front, why not just get tesla ones🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
This video was made before those were available.

@@TechMagnetic The back of the splash guard is sloped and has a channel for water to flow out, no need for drain holes.
No.
