Disagree with the neutral grip pullup take icl, they're a very good exercise. They've been my primary back exercise for a while and my lats have blown up since ive gotten pretty strong at them, plus they've added alot of thickness to my arms too
Yeah don’t why Martin is saying what he is. The neutral grip will force a more elbow tucked position hitting more lats compared to a pronated one. Plus Chris stated he chose the neutral grip as it easier on the shoulder and you won’t get an over use problem compared to pronated grip.

Tbh when i started, I used to do bulgarian split squads with barbell on a smith machine, I felt a lot of knee pain because of the unatural movement of the smith machine. Now I do regular bulgarian split squads with dumbells, knee is feeling better and seeing more gains🏋♂️

6:35 you are wrong. chin ups and neutrals target lats MORE than pull ups due to the arm path. when the arm is close to the body u get more shoulder extension, which is main function of lats. also, neutrals are by far easiest on the joints and probably everyone can do them pain free. most important: diffrent grips are about muscle EMPHASIS, not ELIMINATION. it's all about variety, switch grips once every 2 months or until u hit plateau. btw nowhere i said pull ups won't hit ur lats - chin ups will just do it better. none of the grips is either better or worse choice (unless ur torso dominant).

Amd for strength big 3 and pull ups are probably some cable flys overhead press and I think curls. Should set you up. Idk what exactly he'd say though

I was a simpleton with no help or guidance. No youtube either. Just a floor to stare at Some bonuses... Jump rope, kettlebell swings, explosive exercises like hill sprints and med/slam ball work, curls and of course i began practicing mixed martial arts when i was 15 so it all came together. Good luck everybody. Don't forget safety is always number one and good form and doing the exercises correctly are just as important.

Yes you can do higher reps lower weight, like 12-20 reps in order to learn the movement. I am making a beginner program soon that should be out in the next week so stay tuned.
