Thanks for the tip for this yarn, I might use it with my own summer knit plans (not ranunculus)

I knit about 6 Ranunculus sweaters, some in Marino wool and some in Purl Soho Picnic Cotton. My favourites were the picnic cotton. Knitting the Ranunculus is kinda addictive. I love going through each of the sections.

I love my ranunculus and I am knitting a second one because it’s a joy to knit. I think each one is unique in its own way because the yarn, colour and size changes. Love the colour of yours so I may need to start a third one in green very soon 😍😍

I 100% agree with you, the joy in making a Ranunculus is as you say, depending on the yarn and colors the whole look can change so much! 🌸

If you want a little more room under your arms, or if you want slightly wider sleeves, the massive positive ease of the entire sweater does offer you options.
Option 1: start sleeve separation a bit lower, by knitting a few extra rounds when the yoke is done (no extra raglan increases) so the sweater isn’t creeping up under your armpit.
Option 2: Again, no extra raglan stitches, but ‘poach’ an even number of stitches from the front and back of the body and add them to the sleeve stitches. The pattern tells you how many stitches you’ll have for each sleeve, and for the front & back: it’s in the charts on section 4. So, if you feel the positive ease is more than plentiful around the body, if you don’t mind a little bit less positive ease there but would like wider sleeves, change the number of stitches on the sleeves by switching up the initial amount at sleeve separation. Keep your middle back and middle front where they’re originally at (mark with stitch markers). Place stitch markers where the sleeves should begin and end according to the pattern. Move the stitch markers for the sleeves symmetrically. Check the fit (you might find pins or safety pins come in handy here) just to see if the arm circumference is where you want it. Once satisfied, do the arm cast on stitches as specified by the pattern for the size you picked.
This second option can be especially useful if you’ve got arms that are a bit more generous but have a narrow chest and waist. Even moving just two or four stitches for each arm can make a world of difference, without making much difference in the positive ease around the body. The opposite can be done if you like the sleeves more snug but want/don’t mind a tiny bit more room in the body (or if positive ease in the body.
Just remember that your stitch counts will be off for the remainder of your sweater, and don’t panic about that. If it helps, print out the pattern and write down your changes on it.

I don’t usually like knitting with cotton, but I love the stitch definition you get with this blend!

I agree with you, sometimes cotton can feel quite stiff and doesn’t give much bounce in the fabric - but this cotton and bamboo combination is so divine 💚 it also has a bit of shine to it which gives me some silk vibes ✨ (even though no silk is in it)

Green is such a wonderful color that suits everyone 🌱 how was it using Drops cotton? I’m thinking of creating another summer garment in such a yarn and I would like your feedback on it ✨

Ive just found your channel and thank you for a lovely happy podcast ❤
    I’m knitting my third Ranunculus!!
I just love the pattern and it fits so well in whatever yarn you use.
I have a worsted weight one, a fingering and mohair version both with 3/4 sleeves and the one I’m making now is a cotton/ silk short sleeve in a Jade colour.
All ready going to do a Fushia pink one with the cotton/silk I have in stash 😂
    Happy Ranunculus knitting!

Beautiful. I have the pattern for so long and didn’t dare to try it yet… because as you said, everybody is knitting it. But your sample is really reviving the mood to it. How many balls did you use for each of them?

      @bodilmattsson2053  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I think you definitely should give it a try, it’s such a joy to knit 🌸 and if you don’t like it then there is nothing wrong with starting a new project 😉 I held my skeins double and 5 was just enough for my cropped version (so for the last skein I had to find both ends and use those as the double thread)

Thank you so much 🫶 I knitted a size 1, which I assume is equal to XS. Normally I’m a size S but since it’s such a boxy fit I went with one size smaller and it fits me perfectly 🌸
