I am about to start my 39th ranunculus' yes I am that mad woman. I have done them in every possible weight yarns + even crocheted sleeves + peplum on them. My favorite is the single mohair one. I have a problem reading patterns even though I have been knitting for 65yrs but can knit this without a pattern.

Whaaaaaaat????? We should have had YOU do the show!! That is amazing. I've always wanted to do a single mohair version. There's a gold one on Ravelry that I absolutely love.

I put off knitting the ranunculus because the photo it is so stretched out. Im so glad to see the different types of yarns and sizes. I ended up using sock yarn (light blue- no stripes!) then doubled up the body and it turned out great . I guess it’s a miracle sweater - any size and any type of yarn.

What a wonderful video! I knit my first sweater in 2020 and finally decided to jump on the ranunculus train. I was listening to a podcast and they were talking about how the main pattern photo just doesn't do it justice so I went back and did more digging and decided to give it a go. Thank you for all your tips and tricks, I will be applying many suggestions to my summer version. You both are delightful so I'm glad to have found your videos for future knitting and watching!

Your videos are so easy and friendly. I like that you aren’t pushing products or have an agenda. I really liked this video talking about all of your Ranunculus and the history with each one. It shows the love you have with all of your knits. That being said, I will buy the pattern as it is very pretty, to knit a summer sweater to wear to my son’s graduation. Thank you for all of your comments about it (neckline, sleeve, bottom, etc), as this saves time reviewing all of the Ravelry comments.

So, of course, I was looking for tutorials on some basics and somehow one of your episodes showed up in my feed and I've since watched them all and look forward to new ones as you post them. I stumbled over this podcast because it showed up in my feed, with "Ranunculus" in the title. I *had* to watch because, late to the Ranunculus Party, cast one on in the fall (2021) and then set it aside just as finished dividing for the sleeves, because I had other things to make for Xmas. I've now finished 1 long sleeve (ribbed cuff) and am on the body (a bit longer than called for, and ribbed at the bottom). I'm inspired by all the versions you've made and how they look on very different people. Thanks for this -- I'm going to try some of your other episodes now...I love the back-and-forth between you! 🙂

I thought I was the only one that had a Ranunculus obsession, I only did four, you girls really inspired me to knit a few more,. Although I am onto another beautiful easy and very satisfying knit, I’ve done five Magnolia chunky’s.
None of which were for me😳. So that will be one of my 2022 knits for sure. It’s by Camilla Vadd.
I love her designs and I love your podcast, it’s fun to listen to your experiences with patterns while I am knitting and making changes on the fly myself.

I love the Ranunuculous sweater pattern. I made another 1 this summer For a total of 3.1 of them carried mohair Along with a fingering weight And 1 of them is a heavy linen cotton blend. It is such a wearable sweater If you alter it to more of your own taste. Mine were longer and had longer sleeves. I have been wanting to Do a Black sweater I had not even thought of doing this pattern. I have a nice DK merino that I actually got at a thrift store so you ladies have given me an idea. I just finished the Skylights sweater by Tanis Lavalee in a mohair and Baby cashmere yarn. That is another Great knit in an oversized style. We were supposed to be getting snow overnight but I can hear it has been raining all night so I guess it didn't get cold enough. I rushed to finish it so I would have it to wear in snowy cold weather. Oh well. I am sure it will get put to good use at some point. I'm glad you got your house back Jonna. Spread that yarn all over the place.

Haha! I have yarn in closets, under beds, in the attic, inside ottomans!! It's bad...now maybe my husband will be OK with it since it's my "job"?? Jonna

I got a little flack for that too and my mother told him at least you don't have to go find her and pull her off of a bar stool. That was the end of that discussion.

Just came across this video. Thanks so much for showing off all of your ranunculus sweaters. They are beautiful. It made me wonder with as popular as they are whether you have seen any made into dresses. It's an idea that popped into my head and you two seemed like the best people to ask.

One of my knitting friends said the Ranunculus was her favorite pattern, so I made one and its wonderful. Thanks for showing us all your wonderful versions. My knitting group (6 of us) have decided to all make one as our own small KAL. We will keep you posted on our progress - probably starting them in April. Your podcast was very inspirational. I can't wait to see the MOG Ranunculus.

Loved this Ranunculus episode!! I have made a mohair and a cotton version, but seeing all your beauties I NEED more lol Definitely a lace one for summer with a matching tank 🥰 I really appreciated seeing all the photos, i know that is a lot of work to add them in, thanks! I received my gorgeous sock set in the mail today! Thank you so much. You even pronounced my last name correctly Kim 🤩. I also want to say thank you for talking about postpartum depression. I can relate as a mother of a daughter two years ago. Hardest year of my life. We need to keep a close eye on our momma’s and keep this topic “out in the open” Take care ladies 💓 🇨🇦 Whoo hoo over 3k now 🎉🥳🎉

A great alternative to the tubular cast on is the alternating cable cast on! It's like a knitted cast on, but has good stretch and that clean, seamless, look that the tubular cast on provides, with none of the fiddling!
Your ranunculuses really made me want to cast on another! I have yarn in my stash to make one for my mom haha

I write it down as well as have the pattern on Knit Companion: I use color markers (fine) and even use stickers. I was putting in labels of the yarn as well as a bit of yarn but it became to bulky. Nice to look back and see what I made, with what, size, how it fit, did I like it, etc. Love your podcast once again! Keep it up ladies!

I purchased the ranunculous pattern 2 years ago but yet to knit one. I purchased some wool to knit one this year, I think it scares me that “one” size thing because I’m an XL. It and the love note are on my make 9 this year for sure.

    • @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
      @KnitTogetherwithKimJonna  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The love note is also a nice sweater! I think it wore it in one of our minisodes. There is a large bust size pattern add-on for the Ranunculus. I think it goes up to a bust of 48". Hope this helps.

Your variations of Ranunculous are inspiring me to knit more of them! I have two and because I'm a tight knitter they both fit with only an inch or two of positive ease. I also knit both with full length sleeves and one by one ribbing and being in my later sixties, no way am I going cropped! But I would love to try a short sleeved summery version and a three quarter length sleeve version with the I-cord bind off. Everything you shared about the joy of knitting this wonderful pattern is so true! Yours are all beautiful! See you next time and happy knitting!
