Loved it. WE have 26 cruises under our belt, over half of them from Galveston. We stay at Holiday Inn Express in League City. We have Adventure March 23rd, cannot wait!

Thanks so much!! We always get rapid antigen. JJ got his at a local clinic drive-thru, and I went to an urgent care. We always have CVS appointments as a backup.

Hi…I enjoyed watching your video of your Adventure of the Seas cruise.
We sailed on the Adventure in November 2021 and didn’t have a good cruise, matter of fact it was the worst cruise we’ve been on since cruising came back from COVID. We were on the Carnival Breeze in August 2021, Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas in September 2021 and Royal Caribbean Independence of the seas in October 2021, all of the cruises were fantastic and flawless except when we went on the Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas in November 2021. We love Royal Caribbean and have cruised 20 years with them and have never had a bad experience until that cruise. The ship clearly didn’t have enough crew onboard on our cruise, so I’m hoping after seeing your video that changes were made and things are better on the ship cuz now we (and our cruise friends) are hesitate to go on the ship again. We cruise out of Galveston a lot, we live one hour and a half north of the port which makes cruising easy for us.
I’m so sorry you had a bad cruise! That’s an awful feeling when you are a cruise lover.
We didn’t notice anything different regarding service or food from our September cruise on Symphony. I’d say your Adventure cruise was a one-off and you should give it another try.
It appears the ships are dealing with having to move around positive-testing crew members, and they may have still been figuring that out in November.

How is the Covid check? What do they do with our vaccine cards? And can they be in a holder? We are preparing for our first cruise. And do you have to wear a mask the entire time?
@@billrobland4163 Hi Bill! You'll have a chance to scan in your vax card when you do online check-in. It's not required, but will make things go a bit quicker at the port. It's no problem to have the vax cards in a holder. We did. At port security, they will look at your vax card and covid test. The security employee will likely highlight or circle the important parts of the covid test, which helps employees down the line. Until the President lifts the Executive Order for masks for US transportation, a mask is required in all US cruise ports. As of February 25, however, Royal has made masks optional on the ship for vax'd passengers. You'll have a GREAT first cruise, I'm sure! Was on the same cruise we booked through club royal for me and the wife and 2 daughters a junior suite on the back of ship when we arrived we were upgraded to 2 junior suites next to each other so my daughters had there own suit awesome. I was very disappointed in the quality and variety of food the ship offered it was really poor and the entertainment was substandard casino was old with out of date slots. I guess I’m spoiled as we usually sail the bigger class newer ships on all cruise lines I enjoyed the 5 day getaway but probably wouldn’t go on this ship again great video by the way enjoyed it

THIS is REALLY coincidental! We're booked in the same JS cabin 1644 this July! I was however, a bit miffed over the small size of the balcony.....is it large enough for a recliner? And, any complaints/compliments on 1644 much appreciated. Love your videos, subscribed!
Hey John! Thanks for the sub!! I’d say a lounge position in the balcony is not likely to happen, which is why they have the upright chairs and the table only. We still really enjoyed the balcony. Honestly, our only complaint with the cabin was that the bedside lamp USB plug closest to the door was not working. Hopefully it’s working by July! 🛳
Heading to Mexico soon, how soon does it warm up while out at sea? I don't know if a hoodie is enough or if I should bring a heavier jacket.
When you wake up the next morning (day 2), it'll be sunny and warm (absent a storm). The pool water might still be cold, though, so prepare for THAT! Depending on the weather embarkation and debarkation day, I'd say a hoodie will be plenty.

How was the weather sailing in January? Did it get warmer and more comfortable as we sail away from Galveston? We plan to book a cruise in December 2022 and wanted to check if the pool temp is still comfortable and temp at the various port will be comfortable for our son who loves being in the water!
I will be honest... the Solarium pool was the coldest pool water I remember ever being in! Not sure if the other pools or the kids area were as cold. My lower body literally started going numb after I'd been in a while. lol. Also, the kids area has slides, which is obviously different than being submerged in a pool, so your son may not notice the water temp at all! Good news... the ocean water at the ports was great!!

What would be an appropriate tip for the shuttle driver and the porters?
It's just a matter of opinion, but I'd generally say $3 a bag for the porter and $5 for the shuttle driver. With them being out of work all last year, we have been more generous since the restart, but the numbers I mentioned are certainly appropriate. Happy cruising!!
What kind of covid test was required? I sail February 18th but I don’t know if a rapid test works?
Absolutely. RCI approves rapid antigen or PCR. The rapid test results can come back from 15 minutes to a few hours. Waiting for a PCR is way too stressful. 👍🏼
