I wondered if different Yorkshire pudding recipes gave massively different results so I Put Gordon Ramsey's v Yorkshireman James Martin's to the test .
Good afternoon, well this vlog put a crimp in the household weekend. I think I mentioned I'm a retired chef. And I have cooked thousands of Yorkshire Puds over my career. My wife, & my son and his partner have always preferred the puffed up crispy style. And for the easy life, that's what they get. However, my late mum made batter pudding 😋❤️🧓Which gives a slab of cake look. A thick stodgy pudding, that in the old-fashioned way should be served with gravy BEFORE the meat and vegetables ( any leftover would be used with jam for the afternoon tea) Never sure what made folk flock to Aunt Bessie's. Your two examples both look weird and sound great. And if cooked in a pudding tray, brilliant. Hope you saved the extra batter and gave your good lady a beltin' toad in the hole for tea😋Another entertaining video Kevin. Have a good weekend. Cheers Allan&Family
Thanks for your comments Allan and you reminded me of my late mam and she did similar to yours having served first with gravy and the leftover mix I gave to my daughter and it cooked well in her oven and went down a treat , Enjoy the sun ……is it going to last ?
I will check him out thanks for that Kerry , its interesting how other chefs have different quantities for the same thing , Thanks for your input its appreciated .
Just remember to drop the temperature by 10 degrees & reduce the cooking time in an air fryer. It's not as simple as a straight swap from oven to air fryer, the air is blown around much harder in an air fryer and will burn your food if you don't make the adjustment. That's probably why his looked burnt.
Hi and thanks for your comments and yes you have a point , I was surprised by the appearance too , I guess the Ninja settings i used didn’t suit what I was cooking, I perhaps should of either reduced the temperature or and the cooking time , I will give it another go and see what happens .
@@thedurhamvlogger 🥹 She was a great chef Worked her way up from veg prep to pastry cook Then to running the show in quite a few establishments Also rearing two right fat bastards at home Me and mi father 🤪🤪
@@thedurhamvlogger Also, never tried in an air frier, but id put the mad shapes down to temp variations and the fan, you would probably get a more uniform shape in a normal and more gentle fan oven.

I watched gino de campo years ago and so easy never fails. Equal cups or plain flour, eggs and milk. Season to taste. Simples. ❤

I was once mocked by someone French for using both hands to crack an Egg.
Thanks Neal the French are jealous of our dexterity 😆

I defiantly will try this at home never cooked it in the air fryer before but will give it a go

Thanks Neil I will definitely give that a go thanks
I'm sure those both tasted outstanding but on appearance alone I can honestly say they don't inspire me to invest in an airfryer 🤣

Yorkshire puds are easy as long as you have a decent tin and a little discipline.
Thanks for your comments and I’m just realising that but what is fascinating is the wide variation of a simple recipe.
