My daughter ice skated to the first part and last couple minutes of this score. The judges absolutely loved it and scored her well. The passion of the music brought a lot of beauty to her program.
Lovely music, but I'm glad Alan Silvestri's score was chosen for the final film. This sounds more like it would fit a "magical" movie for kids rather than something witchy and atmospheric.

Comparison of those two videos shows that the epic final riffs on electric guitar have been cut. But even this selection, which in my opinion made the soundtrack look way more calm than it really is, contains some dark themes. The part which starts at 17:37 and finishes at 18:26 was reused in a horror movie called 'Ravenous'.
I'm glad they changed it. I don't hear a theme, or feel any kind of mood or consistency here. Silvestri's score is part of what makes the movie in my opinion.
After hearing this score which isn't bad, I feel they made the right choice to use Silvestri's. His score seems to fit the concept and flow of the film better.

The composer was very fond of it, considered it as one of his best movie scores and finally disappointed when he learned that his work will be rejected in favour of Silvestri's.
the order of the pieces is wrong :-( I have heard another version of the "rejected score" with the intended order for the non -movie purposes. Its beautiful music. :-)

People here giving a professional opinion about how the score is not suitable for a film as if they were producers: to hell with ya lot. By the way, the only reason this was not the final soundtrack is because of the Nicole Kidman spell (Portrait of a Lady)
With this score, Director would have put everything else differently. The film is done. It's okay. But it would have been something far different than it is with an another music.
I suspect the score used was better. Which I agree with. It fits the tone of the movie very well. The movie is darker than it seems on the surface, and the score fits in there I think.

No, this score is far too cheery and airy for a movie that is actually quite dark. It looks sunny, and has a very fluffy trailer, but the actual story has some pretty dark themes. This score fits the surface look of the story and the trailer, but the score that was ultimately chosen fits far better with the actual film.

Yeah, the film seems light and fluffy if you only look at the trailer, but it's quite dark. I think Silvestri's score fits better with that tone.

They should have kept both scores on dvd. This score gives a more dramatic mood to the movie.

This score is not bad but it really does not suit the movie, it sounds more like a 1980s tv show which would fit it better.
I agree. This is too cheery, it makes me think of the music in Sims in building mode.
Now that I have the Glare album, it's weird to hear Convening the Coven without vocals.

The test audience didn't like it. Said it sounded it "too European". I honestly like it more though.
