Absolutely brilliant piece of music and nicely performed. I bought the album when it was released and I had never heard of Steve Reich, but anything on ECM was bound to be good. It's mesmerizing and never seems repetitive. I had bought some albums of minimalist music by other composers, but this really stands above the rest. Reich's melodic sensibility is really wonderful and I consider him one of the greatest contemporary composers. All the live performances are really close to the ECM studio version.

So Beautiful and so clear......Excellent...This is a great Masterpiece. I heard only the ECM recording in 1978,but this is a bit different,more clearer.I love this Masterpiece for ever..

This music touches deeply. I was listening to it while floating on a tube in a swimming pool looking up at the sky in the woods. I was fortunately by myself and could completely merge with the music. I cried and laughed and cried again. Have not experienced such deep unlocking of feelings inside of me in a long time. It is truly a masterpiece.

I really love Nyman's music but he's kind of a lazy mofo lol.

I watched the Michael Nyman band play this live in the early 90’s I think at the Barbican, wow, by the end of it I was on the edge of my seat and my heart beat in time with the music. One of my favourite live music events 😀

Recently had the pleasure of meeting with Russ Hartenberger and playing Nagoya Marimbas for him. Amazing experience. He talked about transitioning Piano Phase onto marimba. It was an amazing experience
