There's a phrase about treating someone respectfully not because they deserve it, but because it's a reflection of your own character - Trevor Noah's interview style is the perfect example of someone who lives up to that standard.
Yes, but he is still giving her an opportunity to spread her bull shot lies and make money. You may view it as professionalism but it’s actually enabling. None of these anti democracy, insurrectionists should be given the time of day. It just gives them an air of legitimacy. That’s partly how we got in this situation. Not everyone’s information is equal, we need to stop treating it like it is.
Trevor should do a class on interviewing. He's a master at it. His kindness and composure with all people, even those with differing beliefs, is always incredible to watch.
Hard disagree; I approve of where his heart's at but having such a disingenuous liar on and allowing her to spin in the name of civility is more of what cable news has been doing for the last 30 years, and it's gotten us where we are. This isn't helping.
The juxtaposition between those two is crazy, everything about her is grating and defensive, and by the time she finished a sentence, I forgot the question. But Trevor was calm, patient, and on point. I admire how he conducted himself when dealing with someone like her because I couldn't do it without losing my temper.
It's not hard to stay cool if you see her as a pathetic individual who lies for personal gains. I borderline feel sorry for her. I have to hand it to Trevor though, he was able to keep a straight face. I'd have trouble not laughing or smirking.
As frustrating as it is, when dealing with people like her, the moment we lose our temper is the moment we lose. Gotta stay calm and be quick on our feet. Humour helps too.
Each time I watch one of his shows, and especially interviews like this one, I appreciate more and more what a fantastic choice John Stewart and the Daily Show made. Bravo!
I have never seen someone handle Conway like this before. This was a remarkable, disarming interview. Ive always loved Trevor, but my respect for him has never been higher.
@@ICU1337 He wasn't trying to challenge her but definitely made sure the topic stay focused on the question without going off the rails. She did try that the first few questions but then got along with the program and the interview got better. Yes, she did spin on a few things and push a couple narratives but it was within the question that Trevor posed. It was well done by Trevor.
Exactly. You don't get to lie with every breath for 5 years, then suddenly expect anyone to believe you and buy your book. Also, the #1 tell that you're still lying is to constantly say "to be honest", "truthfully...." Etc, etc
I don't see mental health as the problem in Buffalo or Uvalde. These shooters are just violent haters. Those shooters are not going to live their lives in a mental institution. They are evil haters who should not be torturing mentally ill ppl who are actually trying to get better.
Trevor’s truth: Make Israel share its Iron Dome technology with its enemies committed to their destruction. He judges war by body counts. Marxist, racist trash with an accent. Who’s next, McConaughey and his Texas charm shredding the second amendment? Be entertained while your country is destroyed. Got it.
Well done Trevor, calling out that she might behave the way she usually does before the interview starts was a great idea, and then following it up by holding her accountable to the question and not letting her wiggle out of it. Excellent
Somehow she was allowed to evade the guns. Aside from "well 5 states have red flag laws." And quite frankly, the "mental health" concern is a cover for not addressing the easy access to weapons of war.
She is so used to defense, she can’t tell Trevor wasn’t attacking her. You can see the spin doctor just turning on automatically. props to Trevor for keeping her on topic.
I'm still laughing. Trevor disarmed her with his very first statement about people asking him, 'why bring her on the show?'. Talking points and triggering the audience are her usual calling cards. Not this time. How do you out Kellyanne Ms. Kellyanne? Trevor just gave a masterclass.
Trevor Noah : The latest person to discover that Kellyanne Conway is the slimiest and craftiest liar who is totally incapable of the truth in any circumstances. No wonder she fitted well into Trump's orbit
Trevor is an amazing professional and a fantastic interviewer. She's such a skilled/talented debator and deflector. The second half of the interview as she was less confrontational, one can sense she was more comfortable. So much respect to Trevor, majors props to him for being able to stay on point, get actual answers from her, remaining professional and respectful. I love this man and appreciate this show so much.
She is selling book and only Trevor invite her to his show so she was nice. But she was and is opportunistic and laying constantly just to get somewhere. I don’t have any respect at all. Trevor is super 👍
I’m going to have to say this, and it pains me. But I think Trevor Noah is actually Dr. Frankenstein, because his personality and just all-around badassery as a human being somehow brought out some sort of humanity out of her. I almost, eww I can’t say that I have a shred of respect for her, but I almost wanted to. You did it Trevor, you raised a corpse for a moment
@@sootheseeker … she definitely listens, each answer is tailored to get just close enough to answering the question, then spin off to make the point she wants to make.

A Master Class in how not to interview someone so much smarter than you. Noah doesn't know anything about politics. Conway is very well educated and very very experienced. He should have treated her with respect, instead he attempted to Karen the interview.
@@skbrockel All humans deserve respect, regardless. I think civility will bring us further, whereas insulting and animalistic behavior will set us back, no matter how far apart we stand.
Man I love Trevor, he does not just invite liars and let them lie, he roasts them hard and gets real with them. Down to earth and honest, even though he knows they are lying, he is giving them chance after chance calmly and respectfully
@@ktraglin She tried so hard to deflect and do what he always does control the narrative but Trevor masterfully prevented her from doing so. Class act!
Interviewing is his biggest weakness. I can't believe he didn't press her on surveillance and privacy. As that's a huge divide among the Republican party. Instead he only pressed her on some dumb trump he said she said drama. He definitely let her off easy. Trevor and his team need to do a better job.
Nope, in this interview, Kellyanne won, she manage to do damage control on her personality to sell her book. Trevor allows her to brag about mental health and wasted a lot of time to sell herself.
@@kstabs3255 yea and what's sad is he might improve after criticism but journalists whose actual job it is to do what you described have zero intentions.
Trevor Noah is an absolutely outstanding interviewer. To squash all of her automatic attempts to be confrontational & avoid answering the questions...awesome job. 🥇🏆
I love how Trevor stayed on topic respectfully & was firm. Conway learned to actually participate in a real conversation. She’s so conditioned to deflect, the way he kept her on topic was nothing short of amazing, without being confrontational. He read the book and did his research. I need to see him do more political interviews. Light hearted while still asking the tough questions.
Just to be clear, Conway asserted that people form judgment or conclusions (nor are willing to hear from people who disagree) without actually knowing her and Noah countered with "that is not true"... He then proceeded to state that he read her book and that many of her views were not public (illuminating stories she never told or that people never knew). He literally just disagreed with her and then stated the very thing she asserted. ... It always makes me wonder, are disagreements between people a matter of language / understanding or really one of moral and ethical difference? I think most of us (68% or one standard deviation) agree on almost all issues (health, welfare, and safety); but, both parties have been taken over by extremes on each end (about 2% or outside of the send deviation).
@@komedawn8309 lol no he was just sticking to her book, she doesn't have any answers to the so called " Hard Questions" this interview is about her book and the context in her book.

You want to make this into what it isn't.
I'm stuck on the fact that she actually agreed with the premise that "Some people shouldn't have guns." I'm waiting for the NRA backers to kick the door down about how she doesn't represent them.
KellyAnn did what she does …again. - Disarms Trevor by playing the victim - Kept talking to run out the clock & prevent follow up questions that would expose her alternate facts
its all she knows how to do...keep talking talking talking until the question is forgotten and 3 different subjects and "im so truthfull" are blurted out...yes, have an hour long show and let her run out of steam and give her an alternate fact uppercut and just roll some tape.
And then she has the nerve to say to Trevor, “you’re not even a fan of the semi colon tonight, I’m just listening” She adds no value to tough conversations the USA need to have.
Well done, Trevor!!! You held her accountable for the questions! Not just that, you disarmed her!! I was able to watch it without tuning out brilliantly executed! You could see in her face at some point that she knew she had to concede and actually have a conversation. Master class.
She didn’t have to do anything. She just noticed that she didn’t need to defend herself or what she has done and that he really listened to what she was saying.
There is a huge difference between giving an answer and answering a question. I think she has done the former so much that she no longer can do the later.
The entire interview was a way for him (just another Liberal fool in the media) Trevor to waste time talking about how bad Trump was or how bad the Trump admin was. This is such a waste of her time. Have someone come and talk about Biden's incompetence.....but that will never happen. The media is corrupt.
@@thomasmoeller3446 She clearly knows exactly what she's doing here and this is her schtick. It's called "bridging and framing" to take a nugget from the proposed premise/question and frame it in the point/position you prepared. It's especially effective if you do it in steps. "Why do you hate cats?" "The best thing about cats is they are so self sufficient, unlike dogs that need way more more maintenance. Dogs, on the other hand, are mans best friend. My favorite dog was one I had when I was growing up and she helped me through a really difficult time when my dad died. Dogs are the best."
Wise strategy on Noah's part to open by stating the fear that she's just going to spin and lie. It was a subtle way of establishing ground rules so that when she started to spin and lie, he could say, "See, you're doing it, what I thought you'd do."
@Vladimir S Yea, to promote her book. But she’s very well versed in this tactic of word-salads, in which, she constantly talks over any host or anchor holding her feet to the fire and not actually saying anything. Deny, deflect, whataboutisms, name-calling, snyde retorts, shift topics, all without taking a breath. It’s the same platitude that her boss utilized. We’re talking about Ms “Alternative facts,” here

I wish she would have answered Trevor's questions and engaged in a real discussion with him. It's obvious that she came to the table from a defensive position, prepared to deflect and push her own agenda. All that does is turn people off instead of inviting them to open their eyes to a different point of view. This interview is a perfect example of why we need to teach kids the art of intelligent discussion, not debate, in schools. Without it, all we have is a nation of people talking past each other instead of listening to other perspectives, attempting to achieve a level of understanding, and working together to make improvements that benefit humanity as a whole. As long as we take sides and fight only for our side to win, nothing will get accomplished and we will remain polarized as a society. Kudos to Trevor for trying.

True--You can flag all of those people that you want. But, I don't think TX has a red flag law. And Oklahoma actually has a law that prevents any part of that state from enacting a red flag law. Showed guns are not the real problem, cause the gun does not shoot by itself. Need to look at the person or persons & what is their problem or reason is to use it in the first place. Lots of red flags in the beginnings of these shooter or shooters that could have been stopped in the first place. This Texas shooter actually posted his. Intentions on line way before the trajedy happened. Were lots of warning signs. .Yes, reasonable gin laws, but won't solve the real problem. Needs to have preventative medicine in place to lower gun violence. Can only do so much of banning guns, cause won't be treating the real cause of the use of guns, but only putting a band aid on the problem. Very informative as a caring mother.. .
@@marjoriecoulsoncoulson2582 yes, one of those red flags is selling guns with large capacity magazines, popularly including assault rifles. Absent a well-regulated approach to arming citizen militia, every single sale of every single gun is a red flag.
She was there to do damage control on her personality and to sell her book. She lied about telling Donald Trump, "He is fired" by Americans. Cannot give a straight answer with a lot of twists and turns.
I think what’s interesting is how she continues to initiate negative points first before attempting to answer the question asked. It’s easy to point to what’s wrong. How about we focus on what we can do to make things better?
Exactly, whatever the question was, she had a reflex to deflect and somehow she got to squeeze Trump in. Just a second, we weren't talking about Trump, we were talking about topics that are universal and above this or that administration. And to be honest, none of the administrations did pass much legislative regarding mass shootings, whether they were red or blue. The inability to do anything regarding this issue is just staggering. Like she also said - it shouldn't be partisan thing at all; how can no one say "OK, let's try this for starters - we know it's not perfect or full solution, we'll add further measures and/or adjust existing ones, but let's just start with something, anything".
She came off being defensive she was trying to use the deflect Conservative talking points. What she realized is his view of America is different he's more in the middle. And he wasn't attacking he was coming from a place of trying to understand. I love it 😀

Trevor may be a comedian but he’s also an intellect and gentleman when interviewing. He allowed Conway to dish out her “spin” instead of aggressively verbally attacking her. Most of us adults have “BS” radar.
He is way too left wing. If he criticized Biden and Obama more (two DISASTROUS Presidents) and sent Klepper out to criticize/ interview the pink-wearing snowflakes…then I would agree with you

She never answers a question. One usually walks away from listening to her just baffled. He asked her How did republicans convince Trump to never pursue his initial stance. She never answered.
Trevor is amazing. His ability to steer the conversation to a fair and open communication without insulting or upsetting the other person, is absolutely incredible. What professionalism!
Trevor you went into this prepared. The weird thing about her is I didn’t think even she believes the things she says. This interview was about selling her book.
I think she was just very scared of saying the wrong thing and losing her political influence (which Trevor called out). Trevor said multiple times that he liked her book.
Talking with your "opponents" is actually the best way to form an opinion. Interviews like this one should happen every single day across all networks, instead of each network running its own agenda. But the people having informed opinions really never did well for those in power.
I fully believe that conway would, if offered the same job in the Democrat admin be comfortable saying the exact opposite of what she said for trump. She would also, with a straight face, say that she said this is exactly what she said when working for trump.
I think you're wrong, absurd and immoral views shouldn't get the spotlight. I wanted to say "fringe views" but then I realized which country I'm taking about...
@@Svafne Everything should be fully exposed in the spotlight. When opinions develop underground, especially dangerous ones, then they become more alluring and attractive for people who are either uneducated and/or are desperate to be part of a group. Thats my opinion at least. When things are out in the open, they tend to be more clear even for those I mention above.
i appreciate conway for having this kind of discussion with anyone, but it’s hard for me to take her seriously when she coined the term “alternative facts”
the phrase "alternative facts" is rhetorically troublesome but it doesn't mean "getting to make up your own facts". If I debate with someone I will use facts and data as best I am aware of them and as fairly as possible If debating a very complex subject, I will have many "facts" at my fingertips and my opponent will have many other "facts" at theirs (I use "facts" in parentheses because it is possible either I or my opponent are mistaken). There will certainly be facts and data I have that my opponent doesn't and vice versa. It is also almost guaranteed that he and I will dispute over some given piece of datum (likely more than one also). My view is that what happened on Jan 6 was NOT EVEN CLOSE to an insurrection. Minor riot maybe. Trespassing, sure, Kerfuffle, definitely. If you say it was I say you are wrong. Perhaps the phrase "alternative facts" is simply a poor shorthand for "a different acceptance of what we accept as fact and subsequent analysis of those facts in the larger context"
The phrase "alternative facts" came about (in trumP's context) immediately after trumP's Inauguration photos showed a crowd 1/5th to 1/3rd smaller than Obama's. The Orange Shitgibbon tweeted out his lies, evidence presented to debunk trumP's tweet and Kellyann gobbled (paraphrased): "well those are your alternative facts" or some similar bullçhit... Maybe others' grandmas' didn't tell them "You never get a second chance to offer a first impression" ~ but Conway lost me at that point. Drove her husband straight to the opposite side of the Republican array, with trumP's help. 🤣
if you read page 206 of her book you would know that she admits that she misspoke when she said that. What she was really trying to say was "alternative information and additional facts". But she misspoke and merged the two phrases, and now she will never hear the end of it because of the amount of hate that so many on the left have in their heart.
Trevor - you are amazing. You somehow inject kindness into every interview you do. Even when calling Kellyanne out - he did it gently. Once she realized that he wasn't going to throw her under the bus on live television, her guard went down, her speech slowed, and she settled into her chair... and then the real conversation began. Trevor- you are just amazing. Hope you see this!❤

Man Trevor has really blown me away in recent years. From coming in filling some very big shoes, to now being one of the best interviewers of various sides of politics. His ability to remain level headed in these situations is admirable and should be the norm in journalism.

In a post interview he gave the reason in which he stated he promised her husband he'd refer to the book, and get answers,, and he was pressed for time.
I really have a lot of respect for Trevor. He does what I think more news "personalities" should do. He's nothing but respectful to ANYONE that is on his stage. No matter what views they may have. I love how he's able to have an actual conversation with someone without there being a whole bunch of yelling or name calling. I disagree. Once upon a time, being respectful was the way to go, if only to highlight the disrespectful behavior of one's interlocutor. Now, it only gives the manipulative and bad behaved a platform and the amplified opportunity for information siloed devotees to lap up every deceitful word she says. It's not hard to stay cool if you see her as a pathetic individual who lies for personal gains. I borderline feel sorry for her. I have to hand it to Trevor though, he was able to keep a straight face. I'd have trouble not laughing or smirking.

He would be an excellent moderator. You're absolutely right, no one would get away with the usual BS
He is way too left wing. If he criticized Biden and Obama more (two DISASTROUS Presidents) and sent Klepper out to criticize/ interview the pink-wearing snowflakes…then I would agree with you

Trevor did the best job of anyone who ever interviewed her. Masterful and with tremendous care.
Trevor you rock !!!
"interviewers" should learn from Trevor. They just sit there and let these clowns lie right to their face and not answer the original question and just...move on. Trevor brings them back and forces them to answer without getting hostile. It's amazing a COMEDY show does more reporting than the actual news network.
This is one of the most difficult people to interview because she is a master of obfuscating the truth …. Well done Trevor hats off to you .
She never answers a question. One usually walks away from listening to her just baffled. He asked her How did republicans convince Trump to never pursue his initial stance. She never answered.

Trevor just gave a master class on how to do an interview. Bravo Sir, Bravo!
She said a lot of words, and said NOTHING, all at the same time.
that is all she is, total BS
Trevor is an excellent interviewer
She still speaks alternative facts
Trevor: “I could chat with you for hours.”
Yeah, because it would take hours for her to answer one question directly and honestly.
Agreed!
Trevor you went into this prepared. The weird thing about her is I didn’t think even she believes the things she says. This interview was about selling her book.
And Trevor accommodated her in doing so.
Selling her book and herself
Making her money selling alternative facts. Soulless.
If someone keeps saying the same things, they believe it. Let’s stop pretending like she doesn’t.
I think she was just very scared of saying the wrong thing and losing her political influence (which Trevor called out). Trevor said multiple times that he liked her book.
I take off my hat to you Trevor. For taking her on the show.. and then for gracefully handing the conversation as you did 👊😎
I take my hats off to Mrs. Conway for coming to this show!
Props to Trevor! Amazing patience with someone who isn’t really there for the right reason.
I do agree with the whole agenda networks though, news should strive and have mechanisms to make it as impartial as possible.
You notice how liberals never go on Tim Poole ?

She is an auctioneer selling lies a mile a minute. Grifter.
This was a great conversation period. I would have liked to hear more.
i appreciate conway for having this kind of discussion with anyone, but it’s hard for me to take her seriously when she coined the term “alternative facts”
the phrase "alternative facts" is rhetorically troublesome but it doesn't mean "getting to make up your own facts".
If I debate with someone I will use facts and data as best I am aware of them and as fairly as possible
If debating a very complex subject, I will have many "facts" at my fingertips and my opponent will have many other "facts" at theirs (I use "facts" in parentheses because it is possible either I or my opponent are mistaken).
The Orange Shitgibbon tweeted out his lies, evidence presented to debunk trumP's tweet and Kellyann gobbled (paraphrased):
"well those are your alternative facts" or some similar bullçhit...
Maybe others' grandmas' didn't tell them
"You never get a second chance to offer a first impression" ~ but Conway lost me at that point.
Drove her husband straight to the opposite side of the Republican array, with trumP's help. 🤣
Me too!! This statement blew my mind. Such an affront to intelligent people.
@@Wibb14 and it worked right in tandem with Rudy.
if you read page 206 of her book you would know that she admits that she misspoke when she said that.

Agreed Joe Biden is like the best of the best presidents that's ever existed in USA long live the 👑
yup, i noticed that she kept saying stuff like 'the DECEMBER deadline for the election' and 'the JANUARY deadline for the election'. as if trump had not been soundly defeated in early NOVEMBER. that spin of hers- that the election wasn't over when the VOTERS decided, wasn't over until JANUARY, as if it was perfectly normal and acceptable for trump & co. to use those two months to exploit every possible avenue to overturn OUR decision- is appalling.

I really have a lot of respect for Trevor. He does what I think more news "personalities" should do. He's nothing but respectful to ANYONE that is on his stage. No matter what views they may have. I love how he's able to have an actual conversation with someone without there being a whole bunch of yelling or name calling. He's legitimately interested and engaged in the conversation and willing to hear the other side out. So maybe in turn they will do the same and maybe that's all it takes sometimes to honestly make a difference. Kindness is peace.
Yes, too bad she did not return the respectfulness by honestly answering his questions.

Maybe all of you will learn this before it's too late.
I disagree. Once upon a time, being respectful was the way to go, if only to highlight the disrespectful behavior of one's interlocutor. Now, it only gives the manipulative and bad behaved a platform and the amplified opportunity for information siloed devotees to lap up every deceitful word she says. Of course, on the flip side, had he been as disrespectful to her as she was to him, the MAGAs who love her would feel she that was being "persecuted". It's a no win situation. The best choice is to not give her a single second of airtime.
@@barbarasmith2693 you're not wrong but I feel like sometimes you got to be willing to hear voices that you're not willing to agree with cuz they might have some perspective on certain things that you never even thought of. I think Trevor understands that and I'm glad that he did what he did

That is actually evidence of the filter that you get your news from. Once you start listening to actually podcasts or talk back radio, you would hear real stories from people like Conway.
