You almost need to do a Mt. Rushmore of heel and babyface teams. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I remember watching wresting when being a tag specialist was a "thing" and having the tag titles was equivalent to having the world heavyweight title, regardless of the promotion (WWF, WCW, AWA, etc.). I enjoyed so many tag teams. You had Hart Foundation, Brain Busters (Arn and Tully), Natural Disasters, LOD/Road Warriors, Demolition, Rockers, Midnight Express, Rock 'n' Roll Express, Killer Bees, British Bulldogs, Fabulous Rougeaus, Nasty Boys, Bundy & Studd, Wild Somoans, Bushwackers, and the Steiner Brothers. You had later teams trying to keep tag teams alive like T&A, E&C, New Age Outlaws, Outsiders, the Hardys, but it was never like the 80s and early 90s, imo.

    • @noxvita83
      @noxvita83 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I totally agree, though I understand why. Once you got into the attitude era, the story lines exploded more than before, so it was less about the competition. It's hard to tell good stories about 4 dudes instead of 2. The stables were the only way to do it, like the ministry of darkness (or corporate ministry). D-X, The Brood. I would say, the Hardys, Edge and Christian, and the Dudely Boys did come close to bringing it back.

    4) Hart Foundation - The blueprint for teams with specialized roles. Bret was the speedy one with the technical skill while Neidhart was the powerhouse. (I, too, went back and forth on this spot.)
    3) Rock 'n' Roll Express. They epitomized the high energy teams and proved that you didn't have to be the biggest dogs in the fight. There's no Kendrik and London without the Hardy Boys who don't exist without the (Midnight) Rockers who in turn don't exist without the Rock 'n' Roll Express.
    2) Dudley Boyz. I don't think I ever saw a bad Dudleyz match. They've been there, done that. And when they reformed, they went around and did it again.
    1)Road Warriors. No explanation needed.

The Undertaker as a Gimmick/Character brought a joy to my childhood that I honestly don't think anything else ever equalled out to. The fact that Kane and Taker are not listed here as the Brothers of Destruction just goes to show his own humility. Kane and Taker as a tag team were absolutely unstoppable. I definitely agree with LOD and Midnight not sure how I feel about Rock n Roll but they were great. Brainbusters I saw mentioned and yeah that's another great tag team. There's also the Rock and Sock connection which as a tag team maybe not so great but I will say that they were probably one of the most entertaining! The Hardys blew me away when I first saw them. I had kinda checked out during the early 90's, and my buddies convinced me to check it out again as the Attitude era was in full swing, and I saw them come out, and was just amazed. I hadn't really watched much Japanese or Mexican wrestling at the time, so I wasn't used to seeing that kind of agility. I mean, my favorite tag team before them was Natural Disasters. So imagine going from THAT to Matt and Jeff's high-flying, death defying, insane gymnastics. I was hooked. Such a big fan. I really hope Jeff is doing ok, he scared me pretty bad last year with all the substance abuse issues. The guy was my HERO for over a decade, and I just worry that I'm gonna open up the newspaper and see that he wrapped his car around a tree or something. I can't imagine the kind of chronic pain those dudes must deal with, with ALL those moonsaults, flying leg drops, senton bombs off the top rope, etc. These guys LITERALLY break their backs for us. The Hardy's rivalry with Edge and Christian produced, for my money, the BEST stuff the attitude era had to offer. Legendary.

Little late to the party here. I grew up watching during Attitude Era onward so my list is quite different.
    4. Brothers of Destruction: As a kid seeing You and Kane together you two seemed like a pure force of nature. Two monsters who once hated each other working together. The only thing scarier than the Undertaker, is Undertaker and Kane.
    3. The Hardy Boyz: They were the reason why my younger brother and I were doing flips off my bunk bed onto our pillows. Young charismatic and talented doing things I never seen before until that time. Sacrificing their bodies to tell a story always kept me on the edge of my seat.
    2. Dudley Boyz: Having that ECW edge made them stand out so much. You just KNEW someone was being put through a table when they came out. Not only could they wrestle but they had some of the best lines that got over. Hearing stadiums yell "D'VON GET THE TABLES!" & "WAZUPPP" always will be engraved in my mind when I think of those two. Their feud with A.P.A along with their TLC matches make them the most hardcore tag team ever in my book.
1 D-X: XPac, the energetic firecracker. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn both loaded with Charisma, Chyna the 7th wonder of the world. HBK and Hunter two of the best to ever step in the squared circle. Together was pure Magic. The bad guys you rooted for. They had an entire generation of young boys myself included for getting in trouble at school for crotch chopping. Seeing them piss off Vince will always be comedy gold once you heard "Are you Ready?" You knew you were in for a show.

    The Undertaker!!
I just want to say you are an icon, you are my favorite professional wrestler of all-time, and I appreciate, respect, and thank you for all you have done and continue to do in your legendary career.
I am so glad this channel exists and I look forward to watching every video!
My Mount Rushmore/Top Tag Teams of All-Time:
    1. The Road Warriors/
    The Legion of Doom
    Animal & Hawk
I remember watching pro wrestling as a kid for the first time in the 80s and I remember watching them and thinking “WOW! I’ve never seen anything like them or anything like this before!” with their brutal and powerful style intimidating promos, spiked shoulder pads, face paint, thunderous intro, and they steamrolled over everyone they faced in the AWA, NWA, NJPW, WWE, in the U.S., and Japan with a quickness and the fact that they have captured so many tag team titles in so many different promotions leading to the Hall of Fame concludes for me
in my honest and humble opinion:
they are the very best and
    most dominant tag team ever
and my all-time favorite tag team.
    2. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express
    Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson
I think for me as a wrestling fan this was one of the first tag teams I saw when I started watching pro wrestling as a kid.
I watched their Hall of Fame video and one of the things that was said about this dynamic, energetic, and extremely talented duo is that they were a constant, they have amazing chemistry together, and it’s all true.
I mean they are both pioneers, one of the most influential tag teams of all-time, and have such a long list of classic matches with so many other epic tag teams!
Absolutely worthy of a spot on any best/favorite tag team list.
    3. The Midnight Express
    “Sweet” Stan Lane
    “Beautiful” Bobby
    with Jim Cornette
    What a trio!
I mean when I hear that epic theme song I know I’m in for a quality tag team match!
Watching Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton perform is like sitting down and getting ready to enjoy a meal in a 5-star restaurant.
The battles they had with so many talented teams, championships won out of the different but consistently talented versions, and the scathing promos from Jim Cornette made me a fan of all of them instantly.
    4. The Hart Foundation
    Bret “The Hitman” Hart
    Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart
with “The Mouth of the South”
    Jimmy Hart
A perfectly balanced team with the technical proficiency of Bret Hart and the powerhouse style of Jim Neidhart they truly had a great chemistry as a team which led to many great matches with a fantastic variety of tag teams, tremendous success with two tag team championships, and entry into the Hall of Fame.
So many more tag teams I want to mention and add to the list -
I appreciate and respect them all.
The 80s and 90s for me will always be my favorite era of professional wrestling because it was my introduction to some of my favorite pro wrestlers of all-time and the fact that I was able to witness so many wonderful matches makes me very happy and thankful I was able to experience it all and rewatch it now and always.

Major props to Undertaker for selecting these four teams. Horseman and the 80s version of the Midnights were my favorite all time teams. Horsemen came to the WWF for a brief stint as the Brainbusters before Double A returned to WCW, we all know what happened to Tully. Bobby and Stan never came to WWF/E but Jimmy C did to form the Midnights with Bart Gunn and Bob Holly, that just wasnt the same. Rock and Roll were 9X NWA world tag champs but never won in it WWF/E. LOD was a shocker when they left WCW for WWE. Only 1 time WCW tag champs, but it was said they were so over they didnt need the belts. 2X WWE tag champs. I think all these teams had longevity on their side. Now WWE slaps two guys together and calls it a tag team, yet they each come down to their own music, dont dress the same, dont have a tag team finishing move, just each does their finisher in succession. Honorable mention to Demolition, Fabulous Freebirds, Megapowers, Rock and Sock Connection, Doom, Hart Foundation, Edge and Christion, Von Erichs, Briscos, Koloffs.

My problem with Jim Cornette is that he just makes all his money trashing the wrestling business now rather than lifting it up.
Theres also the fact that when it comes to his actual roles on a creative/production level, nothing ever seems to be his fault, no matter what happens. If he knows so much about wrestling, why has he never been able to hold a job in a major wrestling company?
Maybe he was great in his time at being a manager, but as a man he is hard to respect. Even if me and him agree that The Elite are overrated garbage, that is just a clock being right twice a day as far as he is concerned.

@@jasonbink5276 History? Sure, lets go through that.
When did he work at WWF? Oh right, during their bad years when the company almost went out of business.
Then he went over to WCW....where it DID go out of business. And suddenly WWF got way better.
Then of course there was his run with ROH, where he shows up in 2009 and within a year and a half basically all of their good talent is somehow miraculously in WWE, and the company is in the toilet.
Oh but what about his run in OVW? Oh yeah, he somehow managed to be successful in a tiny southern territory (some of the easiest crowds in the world), while being handed a whole generation of future legends like Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Dave Bautista by WWE. Good for him.
Seems like trouble follows him around, and yet it's somehow never his fault. If he knows so much, why does that keep happening?
Other guys from his era still work in the business, or at the very least try to uplift it like Undertaker does from the outside. It's guys like him and Bishoff who think they know more than they actually do who need to sit on the outside and say "It would all be working better if I was in charge!" despite all evidence to the contrary.

Very nice. Definitely like his appreciation of the smaller wrestlers. Their size is small...skill and entertainment are amazing.

I gotta say for someone who was there in KC and saw Ric Flair win his first World Title and became a huge fan of wrestling afterwards, this is a very hard list to come up with cause it comes down to success, longevity and frankly your person favorites. So I have two that the Undertaker picked on my list as well.
    4: The Steiner Brothers
    3: Midnight Express
2: Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard
    1: The Dudley Boys

These tag teams, which got their start in the NWA territories, were a little before my time. While I am definitely aware of all of them, I never really got to see any of them in their hay-day. I'd love to see a longer discussion comparing them to the 90s era WWF tag teams like Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boys, The Dudley Boys, and the Acolytes.

I'm glad Taker shouts out to the guys he came up with, tag team wrestling was a way bigger draw in the 80's and 90's than it has been recently. But I think tag team wrestling hit its stride in the early and mid 2000's:
    Edge and Christian
The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray and D-Von)
The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy)
Too Cool (Scotty 2 Hotty and Brian Lawler)
    Test and Albert
The Brothers of Destruction (Undertaker and Kane)
The Newage Outlaws (Billy Gunn and Road Dawg)
APA ( Bradshaw and Ron Simmons)
The Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas)
Los Guerreros (Eddie and Chavo Guerrero Jr.)
MNM (Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury)

I'm old school when it comes to tag teams. I feel the best tag teams came from the 80s when tag teams were at their best. My Mount Rushmore starts off with The Killer Bees. Their high-flying team work was phenomenal and ahead of its time in the 80s. Next would have to be The British Bulldogs. When they were at their peak they were unstoppable and it was awesome to watch. In second place has to be The Hart Foundation. Jim and Bret with Jimmy Hart, especially when they were heels, was and is to this day one of the greatest tag teams ever. They worked as one without ever having to say a word to each other. It was beautiful. And my number one, and this just my personal opinion, I'm sure others may disagree, but my all time favorite tag team will always be Demolition. When they came to the ring they were intimidating as hell, and when the bell rang they completely pummeled their opponents. It was both shocking and awesome to watch. Some say they were Road Warriors knock-off, but I disagree. They were their own thing, and they made a name for themselves as one of the greatest tag teams ever. They loved chaos and destruction and it showed in every one of their matches. As a personal addition if I was allowed to add a fifth team or a runner up, I would give it to the New Age Outlaws. They were the tag team you loved to hate because they were so good at making you hate them, but so good at holding on to the Tag Team Championship belts that you had to love them. If I had a Time Machine and could transport one team back to the 80s to compete with the best tag teams ever it would be the New Age Outlaws. I would have loved to see them compete with my Mount Rushmore of tag teams in their prime. That's my list. Not everyone may agree with it, but it's mine and I'm sticking by it.

I missed so much of the older Tag Teams yet I would call into the more modernish age with The Hardy Boys, The Dudleys, Edge/Christian and Degeneration X. But I know that these episodes were brief but so entertaining...

Edge and Christian had one of the, if not the, greatest year in tag team history winning the titles 7 times from WM 16 to WM 17. And won both of those WM matches against two of the greatest tag teams ever
The Usos brought me back into wrestling, and I think have the longest reign ever.
Both teams were entertaining inside and outside of the ring.
My vote goes to those two. ✌️

That's an incredibly solid list of top tag teams, and I have to agree hands down the greatest tag team is the Road Warrior, Legion of Doom, Hawk & Animal. The synergy those guys had, along w/ the attitude and look, everything just meshed perfectly. For me, I have the Steiner Brothers as a close second, the Hart Foundation at three, and Harlem Heat at four.

    2. Hart Fondation (Bret Hart/Jim Neidhart)
    1. Demolition (Ax/Smash)

I saw a clip of Taker wrestling under a mask going by the name Texas Red and managed by Percy Pringle(long history there) and getting destroyed by Bruiser Brody. I suppose that was part of paying his dues at the beginning of his career.

Actually 100% agree with him on this especially whilst they wrestled with the NWA. I would probably add The Fabulous Freebirds & The Fantastics, as this was when tag team wrestling was at its best.

Thanks for this channel. Hey I’m not disagreeing with any of your picks. I would’ve picked my 4 and then after seeing your 4 I thought, oh God I’m wrong. Definitely Road Warriors #1. I thought about putting in the Hart Foundation but Bret went on to bigger things. What makes your list the best is no member actually went solo and had that same impact as they did as a tag team. So I’m agreeing with your 4
