    "Could not handle stress because I had all these other stressors going on in the background". Yes. Totally makes sense. And I have a lot of injuries - what I call trauma now- that also creates all this noise in the background... self- limiting beliefs, unresolved feelings, etc. Do you talk about how to address those?

      I'm sorry to hear about the burning sensations you're experiencing. Have you seen a medical professional and received a diagnosis yet? While am not a doctor, I know from my personal experience with CFS that burning sensations can be very distressing and may have various underlying causes, including nerve-related issues, inflammation, or other health conditions.
      I welcome you to follow the videos here, but it's also important to keep in mind that CFS and other health conditions can manifest differently in different individuals so it's important to understand what exactly your situation is so I can better help you. Explained so well! Thankyou! 💎It’s definitely a balance of stretching our body/muscles to the next point(NOT FORCING, only a slight challenge), in my case hanging washing is too hard, but I’m starting to take a couple of things off the washing line, or I am reaching up to put a glass or tea cup in the cupboard. There’s a lot of resistance there, but it should get easier the more I persist.

    I am having a hard time figuring out how to manage emotional stress. I understand the concept that I have to gradually train my nervous system to handle a higher level of stress; and I understand what you mean by letting go of "dead weight" in terms of negative thoughts. But I don't know how to NOT go way beyond my threshold in terms of emotional stress with regards to certain relationships. It isn't always as simple as just cutting someone out of your life. I guess I have to force myself to just not care about certain relationships, to have zero expectations whatsoever, so that I won't feel so much stress when people let me down. Relationship stress is the main stumbling block that's keeping me from making progress.

    • @AntonyJS
      @AntonyJS ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't speak for your situation. But relationship stress is also my biggest problem. It is extremely difficult to deal with. I am currently completely cutting out anyone from my life that causes toxic stress. It's brutal but nessecary.

      @andybreedlove ปีที่แล้ว

      Same…

    • @ingathomas6653
      @ingathomas6653 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I concentrate on healthy relationships and cut down toxic people or contacts or my thoughts for them. I do not allow them anymore to occupy me. No place left. I do have a toxic father though... What I do is: I respond his mails after a meditation. Without getting his words in my inner mind. And then I breathe and watch out for movement. Kind of technical. It works. If you allow me as a person who lived in earlier times toxic relationships (ref. living-partners) to say: You can overcome this. It is part of a fight & fight- personality, even f&f- addiction.

    • @bluemeaford
      @bluemeaford 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same.
      That’s my biggest issue right now. And besides having no expectations I am at a loss.

    I love your video's. They are well laid out and I love the analogies you use. I find that meditation or relaxation techniques help a lot, but not enough to heal the entire situation. I think I struggle with emotions more than anything. When I do meditation I do good but when I try the visualizations it seems like emotional pain/memories floods in even if I wasn't even remotely thinking about that situation before I started. It might be my body trying to push back against the status quo. It's just frustrating. Thank you for all of your great video's. I'm still working my way through them since I just recently found you.

    • @cfsrecovery
      @cfsrecovery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is very scary in the beginning! Your brain does not trust that your body will be able to handle anything so you have to start very slow and constantly remind yourself that it is just the nervous system

    Hello Miguel. What I got out of this is a slow awakening to the fact that trying to avoid symptoms at all costs is not what makes a person well. I have a question for you. I saw from notes I took from Toby Morrison a few years ago that for the first two weeks (of working towards recovery) one should do 50% less. As someone living alone with friends, but not family nearby, how is it possible to do 50% less? Who will get food in, clean my home, pay the bills, do laundry….just doing all the small things necessary to keep one’s head above water? I already use a lot of time resting (I also do tai chi/qigong and have a (virtual) personal trainer twice a week. Without those two things I would be (fibromyalgia and arthritis) a semi-invalid.) Question #2. What is the oldest person you know of who has recovered from these conditions (CFS/ME; fibromyalgia)? I heard someone talking about people recovering at all ages: they say, 50’s, 60’s, EVEN SEVENTIES they say, rather breathlessly. . (No one ever mentions EIGHTIES.). Of course it’s POSSIBLE. I’m asking if you know of anyone in their 80’s who recovered. I’m not going to stop trying; I’m just curious.

    Thank you so much for your videos, just so good. For me, just knowing that there is a logical explanation took away sooo much of the worring and doubts. I now know I will recover, but I still am a little bit struggling with how to work my way up from being housebound and not being able to walk the stairs from the second floor of my building. Do you have any ideas, how to slowly approach the stairs? I would really appreciate it. Probably I have build up some fear about it until now, so I have to work on that. But after an adjustment period, should I just go the same amount as what had triggered that adjustment period or a little less? Thanks a lot, I would immeadiately join your program, but as I'm only a long covid recoveree of 8 months, I don't fit, right? ;)

I would say to definitely apply for the program so you can work directly with the coaches and we can build a personalized plan for you. It's nice to know I can get to the point of ant-stress. I've never heard of it. My stress is overboard. I have an anxiety disorder (put off of work) and I spent 77 hours this week helping to care for my mother who has Alzheimer's and gets very agitated and aggressive. I spend a lot of time singing with her and that helps her and me but I'm still exhausted. I was even having nightmares last night of taking care of her and being exhausted. We are putting her name in for a nursing home because it is getting too difficult (my sister, sister-in-law, and I are caring for her but my sister has been sick and not going for awhile so it's more on my sister-in-law and me). We all need a break but having health issues is really hard in these circumstances. I have other physical health issues as well. Any advice on how to keep my calm? I've been getting terrible stomach pain.
