  • With the 2024 Snowcheck season already here, we go through and give some comparisons between the 2023 Polaris Khaos Boost 155 and Skidoo Expert Turbo R 154. We got together with half of the Elevated Riders crew, Stetson and Trace for a ride to ride some trees, hit some features, and see how the two sleds handled in the same situations. Also, our unbiased opinion and what we ordered for 2024.

What I appreciate most about this channel is the unbiased honesty. I know it'd be rad for you guys, but I hope you don't become ambassadors for anyone because there goes the honesty and fairness. I know brand bashing has been around since Ford/Chevy/Dodge, but for some reason it just chaps my ass when it comes to the snowmobile industry. I dunno if it's because we're a much smaller community or what - but I get tired of grown men acting like 12 YO little girls.
I think it's very obvious the Doo makes more power than the boost and it makes sense why it does - the Polaris set the benchmark last year for most power, so naturally the competitor is gonna up it. But did it comes at the expense of reliability?? Doo's reeds and chain cases have been suspect all year long. But then so has Polaris with that STUPID P22 clutch and plug failures.
I say demo and buy whatever gives you more confidence and have a blast with it. Quit talkin shit and realize that some brands are a little better than yours in certain aspects. If 1 brand was head and shoulders above the rest, then we'd all be riding the same machine. But thank God for competition eh? Thanks for the video and reviews fellas! And someone might want to go check on Dylan - he's probably out of gas by now with the skis in the air haha

Exactly. I’m on a Yamaha and it’s been down more than my old Polaris. I fell for the “it’s a Yamaha dude, last forever” line (new at snowmobile, I’m a SXS guy) but the most common thread in every comment is bias. Everyone has things that work like they’re used to, that’s ok, but it don’t make yer shit better than any other brand. I’ve had just about every SXS available since the mule caught on, now everybody makes one and once you get up to $30k-$40k range they’re ALL PRETTY BAD ASS. I’m older so comfort is my game lol. Yeah, I can’t go everywhere you can on a sport SXS but I’ve got a badass radio, air conditioning and a 1500cc 4 cylinder engine that’ll move that machine QUICK. In fact I went to Polaris (again) just to have those amenities and that motor and transmission. It’s a beast. Can’t keep up with the sport SXS, but I’ve gone through that SXS scene, now it’s about comfort. Same with sleds. Got a big yammie touring sled, arm rests n whatnot. Can’t keep the pace with yall but don’t care, it’s enough for an older dude like me. I’ve owned Honda, Polaris, skidoo, arctic cat, Kawasaki (the old mule, got started with that couple decades back when it came out) and they’ve all had shit they did awesome and some they sucked at but they’ve all put a smile on my face and to me that’s the name of the game.

You should have went from one sled to the other doing the hill climb. Rider ability and how each of you climb the hill differently skewed those results. Either both do a straight climb or sidehill as high as you can go. Also somehow missed doing a simple drag race. To see what’s flat out faster and which hooks up faster. Also Polaris how was sled reliability not mentioned. Polaris is by far the least realible sled no ands, ifs or buts. And even the ski doos reliability aren’t what they used to be but atleast clutches are flying off every 500km
